As tommy said in this video focus trees that give the player hability to do stuff instead of waiting are the best ones, for example the new NSB soviet tree is an AMAZING example of this, when you play historial or ahistorical soviets you are never doing nothing and justwaiting as you need to survive the stalin purges and control them with decisions
I especially love the focuses that give you debuffs as you're doing them but once they finish they give you the buff that's such cool attention to detail and I'm glad Paradox is starting to do stuff like that.

I love Tommy's Boston Accent. It sounds like he didn't know how they talked so he asked someone and they told him it's just an Irish Accent then he watched some Mark Wahlberg movies and then made magic with his tongue.
The ending is kinda the problem with Kaiserreich for years now. End game AI and player can just have a ridicule amount of men on the field aswell as OP buffs. I remember trying to invade end game CSA is practically impossible.

As someone who has grown up and still live right outside Pittsburgh, it’s so weird watching the front line of a war running pretty much through my house. I’m sure European viewers see that shit all the time when playing/watching but we haven’t seen anything like that beside Bushy Run in 1763 which was playground stuff compared to WW2.

That actually a good balance in the end, in the Kaiser Reich almost everyone have their ups and downs, of Tommy a bit more longer he could finish Europe, and make a lot of d day some from bunch trash division and one or more good division so they actually able to land, it just to divide their troop so the real invasion have less resistance
I mean, at the end it's reasonable they couldn't take Europe considering the new focus trees didn't pop up - probably a lot of buffs in them that he ended up missing out on.
Would be cool if the New England parties had some older era names. Like Loyalists/Tories if they want to stay as New England in the British/Canadian millieu. Federalist/whig for the path of becoming USA/independent again.
@@katamattyon in my personal experience I've never seen a problem with the crazy stuff in redux due to how most of it takes so much to do that only 1 or 2 ai countries do something insane, and the really stupid stuff like Jesus leading Poland or Trotsky coming back has to be enabled pre-game to even happen.

6:52 the thing Tommy wants is literally in the game as resource decisions. Just research excavation and wait 90 days with 3 civs and you have extra resources. Tommy thinks it doesn't exist because he has seen them so much that he doesn't care or realize they are the same or he wants it to be named differently so it seems special(but its not the thing is no matter the context it's the same +4 steel).

What Tommy is taking about is things like the Bulgaria decisions in vanilla, or pretty much every Kaiserreich nation, where you have a ton of decisions that affect your politics, stability, laws, industry, resources, etc. Where instead of sitting around doing nothing for half the game, you actually have to balance and manage what is going on in your country constantly. Saying a couple crappy excavation decisions is the same as what Tommy is talking about is like saying a kiddy pool is the same as an Olympic pool just because they both have water.
What tommy forgot ( actually I don’t blame him maybe he don’t have the time for it and might be not fun for the stream ) is that in late game direct combat wont be enough. When you reach 1945 its all about Air Superiority and Strategic Bombing, I’m talking green air with bombers decimating enemy factories. Nukes is a must now when you have the enemy put 20 millions men on the front just nuke the shit out of them and advance. If your economy isn’t big enough to do this then understand that you’re the weaker side and you have to be on defense not offense until you reach the capacity to bomb and nuke the enemy.
