I love how the Stunticons’ personality’s naturally clash, and that Motormaster is basically an angry single dad, trying to keep his unruly kids who hate each other in line, who really hates his neighbor just because he’s jealous of his car.
This needs to be a sitcom!!!!

Sort of. If you spend time thinking about it, they'd be forced into reconnaissance work on Earth. Decepticon jets wouldn't be able to fly without being detected by humans or Autobots, so to gather info on where Autobot bases are, they'd need a ground force. The Stunticons are pretty much all they have.

Since Optimus has already beaten him, it would be better to see Nemesis Prime starting a rivalry with Motor master, both are Black trucks, and they are to outlaws, Motormaster is no necessarily fond of obeying Megatron, Nemesis Prime has no Faction, but Unicron may be his master depending on the continuity or origin. So two evil rebel dudes how don´t care about anything but winning, destroying each other sounds awesome.
Menasor Is the only combiner who scared me. Think Motormaster and Nemesis Prime compete to kill Optimus?

My favorites Stunticon is Dead End. Yes, he's not such a nihilist as he was cynical and a realist. Dead End and I share that cynicism. Plus he had a dry/wry humor, like myself: "A flying car! How droll!"

By the looks of it, I think the Legacy toyline is putting the focus on them since we now have Dragstrip, Wildrider, and Motomaster.
As someone who got into the series as a kid in 2006 it's wild that just the idea of a decepticon car was a major innovation at the time! Many memorable modern decepticons owe alot to these guys!

This is an interesting group. Their team dynamic is unique, and their personalities make for a dysfunctional gestalt. Also, it appears they have multiple rivalries going on. The Aerialbots, Protectobots, and Combaticons all have enemity with this group. In fact, it appears at times that the Protectobots make a better antithesis; law and order vs wanton destruction and rebellion.
I agree. Their toys matched each other better too. I found a Bruticus Vs Superion and Defensor Vs Menasor match up works a lot better.
@@RodimusPrimal It's too bad there was never an episode of Defensor Vs Menasor in the Transformers G1 cartoon but as you said Bruticus Vs Superion did happen in that episode Aerial Assault.
Asethetically, Superion vs Menasor and Defensor vs Bruticus. Themetically for foils and diametrically opposed characters, Bruticus and Superion(the two cold ones, one a dumb brute and the other shutting out everything) and Menasor, chaos, versus Defensor, order

Well, they technically ARE different. Before they became sentient the autobots were originally consumer goods and the decepticons were military hardware.
HypercatZ bro I don’t care about the G1 cartoon’s lore, that show was only charm really. I’m talking about Transformers as a whole, because news flash the G1 cartoon adaptation isn’t god when it comes to lore. I much prefer the biological stuff in IDW (00s or 19) because it makes transformers human. It makes them have actual choice and morals, it questions if the Autobot cause is better for Cybertron, if Decepticons are actually better rather than having Decepticons be all villainous and Autobots all good.

Closest I came in G1 was a secondhand Predaking with no Divebomb and 2 Rampages...but missing the hands. :(
Tried to get the G2 combiners too...ended up with 4 Combaticons and 4 Arialbots. Never found a store that had the leaders.
My first and only combiner toy is now Volcanicus.

Something that is kind odd is how slowly each stunticon member returned to prominence in different Transformers show.
First it was Breakdown if Prime;
Than Motormaster, Drag Strip and Menasor in RID 2015;
And now Dead End in Cyberverse.
Now I'm just waiting for Wildrider's turn

Aside from the Ultimate Weapon, Menasor was a consistently powerful threat throughout the cartoon’s run.
People forget how powerful the Stunticons and Menasor were…most powerful Deception team , they easily beat Devastator and Bruticus
And defensor and superion. Predaking is only more powerful

Dead end was my favorite G1 Stunticon, I liked his voice and his gloomy "who cares? We are all doomed anyways" attitude.
Bruticus was my preferred combiner character-wise, but I have to admit the original G1 Menasor toy always looked more solid. I am a bit disappointed in how "gangly" looking the recent combined wars Menasor looks when compared to the classic figure.
Yeah the Combiner Wars figure could have been better. Unite Warriors looks better but it's still in need of improvement.
Kind of a bummer, the individual Stunticons looked pretty good (Imo.)
Yeah, his chest looks like a brick, though the use of blackjack as a chestplate is cool
While Optimus survived the collision, I could see that he still felt pain. That proves Motormaster is dangerous.
when I first saw the Stunticons I was like "is that-are those evil Autobots?" and then my young brain struggles to comprehend that the Decepticons now have cars in their ranks and the Autobots later have Planes.
it's kinda sad that the Stunticons (as well as combiners as a whole) is often over looked or their character traits changed over the years, back then I remember going like "on crap it's the Stunticons, let's hope they fight each other so they'll be easier to defeat"

Realistically, Motormaster should be the size of a combiner all by himself.

Motormaster has an approach to scale similar to Astrotrain: in his alt mode he's so bigger than his robot mode that he can match Optimus Prime and his trailer together.

I love how they drive in nonsenical and cartoony ways and work together. I literally watched them combo Smokescreen off the road and Motor Master come down from above and flatten Wheeljack
Deadend is my favourite cause in g1 he had some memorable one liners plus a personality that made him stand out even if he is a downer.
OP was the king of the road, he smashed that fool flat. My favorite was Breakdown. His color scheme was awesome
I hated RID Stunticons. They were great until they were just done away with in an instant. They should have had more time as Menasor. And even as Menasor they were too unstable to be a threat.
In short my pros/cons of RID Stunticons
Pros:
They could combine in pairs
Brought Menasor back into the spotlight
Made a good recurring cast of villains for a series called “Combiner Force”
Cons:
A lot of build up without a fitting climax
Menasor was too unstable they could fall apart if any bot got too scared
They were too short lived and were replaced by the non-combiner Soundwave and then Galvatronus as the big bad for the series finale
RID did a lot of good characters dirty.
In defense of Menasor, all the RID 2015 combiners are unstable.
protosilver 97 Galvatronus was incredibly stable until Cyberwarp betrayed them. Hell, he could have won if that hadn’t happened. The Cons would be standing on Ultra Bee’s corpse even if they have to flee from the freed Autobots.
I just hate RID 2015 in general. Completely ruined Prime and the characters are stupid.

I find it interesting that the trailer made up most of Motor master, while the truck made up his feet. Not done with the video yet, but so far it’s fantastic as always! As a “younger” fan I love learning more about the franchise that I’ve loved for so many years. Also can’t wait for the next discussion video, those are definitely my favorite!
You would think that Motormaster would be much larger than Optimus Prime in robot mode, since Optimus is just the truck while Motormaster is the truck and trailer.
Erich Kays in the show it honestly looks like the truck becomes more of motor master, while the trailer completely morphs inside him. It is definitely a strange case.

I wish both Autobot and Decepticon combiner were in the movie just like Devastator. PS. The IDW comics goes way over my head.
@The Other Dragoon Fighter 64 I would love to see more combiners in the movies. Just don't make them as ugly as they made Devastator. That was such a missed opportunity. Though, lot of the designs in the Bayverse were hit and miss, in my opinion.
I never bothered to even pick up a single issue. Kinda glad I didn't.
The Stunticons are one of my favorite Decepticon subgroups/combiner team. I love Motormaster transforming into a Kenworth K100 semi truck. My love of semi trucks and robots is what got me turned onto Transformers as a kid in the first place!
I like all of the G1 Combiners, especially the Stunticons and the Aerialbots!!!

In my opinion, Menasor seems to be the most dangerous Combiner due to not controlling himself in a combined form
That also makes him the easiest to deal with because, like pennywise, you just hurl insults at him and you win
Actually, the most dangerous combiners are the ones whose components get along with each other. The G1 Predacons are arguably more dangerous than any other Decepticon combiner team because all of them agree on one thing: hunting. This means that their combined mode Predaking is a synergised, mentally stable individual greater than the sum of their parts, which should be the goal of combiners anyway.
Menasor essentially has to fight himself in order to get all of his components in line in order to fight as Menasor, which makes him more of a liability than anything else. The stunticons are an example of how not to be a combiner IMO.
@@casuallatecomer7597 to the original comment’s credit , if you take all of the Menasor stories in aggregate, he’s always the combiner that’s most indestructible and most prone to defeat other combiners. It took Prime combining with other Autobots (arguably some of the strongest like Prowl) just to defeat a Menasor that had already beaten Devastator, Superion, and Defensor. Then in that other story it took Omega Supreme to help defeat Menasor. So, while he can be unstable he is clearly a VERY dangerous threat.
Although you have a point, at least Menasor can take orders from Megatron (if reluctantly). Volcanicus is little more than a rampaging beast, running purely on instinct and Almost unable to differentiate friend from foe. That’s why we Dinobots rarely ever combine, to avoid collateral damage.
It’s not even just that , it’s also because the Stunticons separately are already very resistant to damage

Yea, also my favorite of this group. I see him as potentially less evil than the rest to. Like in another reality he could have been a goth autobot or at least part of a more neutral group or a loner.
In all honesty, the stunticon, when I was a kid, were my least favorite combiner team. But this has been a great review, as usual.
It's not that the stunticon were not fun, but to my kid self, they were a cheap knockoff of my awesome Autobots. Older me likes them more. But Devastator will forever be number one (followed by computron, who I think was very underused in the show)

I like Wildrider, and how his head has the points on the side that make it look like he has a cowboy hat! It’s such a fantastic design that works well with his personality!
The Decepticons got the most interesting Combiner teams.
Funny how Menasor was perhaps the strongest Decepticon Combiner before the likes of Predaking, Abominus, & Piranhacon/King Poseidon.
I've always found it funny that when the first trailer released for Age of Extinction, there was a theory that the gray truck that would be revealed as Galvatron was actually Motormaster
Great video. Motormaster is my fave Stunticon, he reminds of the Smokey and the Bandit movies. Onslaught was the only combiner team leader I had as a kid. I was able to get the G1 Stunticons on ebay back in 2010.

Motormaster was always my favorite. I really do wish someone would re-engineer the Combiner Wars Hot Spot transformation scheme into a Combiner Wars Motormaster that has a trailer that makes up his body. So far there's been two attempts at a replacement cor the Combiner Wars Motormaster and both really didn't do it for me.

In a series I'm working on, I was thinking of having the Stunticons being a faction of renegade cybertronians from the speed planet, Velocitron. They would be lead by the ambitious Motormaster, who seeks to be the king of Velocitron. However, he could never beat Override in a race and formed a group of Velocitronians who dislike their currently ruler.

I find the stunticons are underrated all there personality's all rival and bicker with each other and I just love that making the stunticons my favourite combiner team
In games, some of the Stunticons appeared in the Cybertron games, Motormaster appearing in the DS versions of WFC, Breakdown appeared in the principal versions of WFC, FOC and ROTDS and Dragstrip appeared in ROTDS too.
In addition, we know Off-road is going to appear in the new incoming game, Transformers Battlegrounds.
Also Dragstrip was unlockable in War for Cybertron on the DS

The Stunticons are my favorite characters. I love how they're more direct rivals for the Autobots. I didn't know the thing about how the pictures of the toys were faxed over to the animation people. That's funny, haha.

My favorites were definitely Deadend and Breakdown. I feel like my IRL personality is the combination of the two lol.
I also felt like the Stunticons had some of the best individual personalities of the G1 cartoon combiners. I find many other of the combiner personalities to be forgettable, with the exception of the Combaticons.
Menasaur’s theme in Devastation serves him so much justice. The riff and choir is absolutely perfect. Gotta love metal
It's a shame the Stunticons don't make any true appearances in that game other than Motormaster and when they combine into Menasor
When I first play War For cybertron I was so confused how WFC Breakdown and Prime breakdown were the same guy. Like they had nothing in common. At first I always thought the Prime breakdown made more sense, but now I know cause how paranoid he was it fits with Mental Breakdown.
What a great video! I never had any idea how awesome the Stuntacons were. I always wanted Motormaster when I was a kid but my parents never got me many Decepticons.
I didn´t like Robots in Disguise cartoon, it was pretty bad... But that Menasor was Awesome! That is my favorite design for Menasor Ever! I also loved the characters! I was always looking forward for him to kick Ultrabee´s butt, unfortunately that toy was awful. Do you know how to fix that?

If not for my beloved (loathed?) Constructicons, the Stunticons would be my favourite combiner team, with Dead End as my fave member. (Swindle volunteering Dead End to potentially poison himself in "Five Faces Of Darkness" was PRIME!)
"Trans-Europe Express" was a top ten episode: aside from Motormaster crushing poor Wheeljack, and how Sideswipe & Sunstreaker were taken out, I always loved how Smokescreen SAW Wildrider approaching, stated his name, but did NOTHING to stop him from crashing into him. (And Drag Strip got a crunch in, too!) 😂
And on the subject, Bluestreak, Tracks, and Bumblebee deserve "Autobots Of The Milennia" awards for taking on Megatron, Soundwave, Rumble, the Constructicons, AND the Stunticons!! 🏆🏆🏆
Despite his mental instability, it always seemed to me that Menasor was the most powerful of the Decepticon combiners. Perhaps he's not as intelligent and canny as Predaking, but he's pretty darn effective!
Optimus Prime will always be King of the Road he proved it when he went through a set of heavy doors and smashed Megatron head on in truck form and when he faced off against the Decepticon truck that was part of the combiners beating both of them making him the true King of the Road

In Age of Extinction, the Stunticons could have fit in nicely as some of the KSI drones. After the Hong Kong battle, would survive and be set up in the The Last Knight to combine into Menasor.
Motormaster has always been my favorite stunticon, but Ultra Magnus will always be king of the road
Well, 2022 looks like a great year for the Stunticons. They're getting a new Menasor series of figures with the Legacy line. I just bought Dragstrip today, and this time I want to be up to date on releases (I missed the 2019 wave for SS RotF Devastator).

Actually, Megatron(which he was involved in altering all the cars when Rumble delivered them to him, which is cool cause Prime was also involved in helping build the Arielbots)created the Stunticons. But as usual, great video and always informative!

I thought that was why Hasbro made Snarl and Swoop, bringing their number up from 3 to 5, to make them into a combiner, as the Decepticons had more combiners in the G1 toyline than the Autobots.

@@simplysteve68 The Autobots to compensate had Omega Supreme as Devastator's counterpart, Skylynx against Predaking and in the japanese continuity (it's G1too) they had the Trainbots, who could combine into Raiden.
I’d have to go with Wildrider as my favorite Stunticon. Can’t wait for his new figure.

This was an epic video retrospective RodimusPrimal!!!!!!!!!! :D The Stunticons are an amazing combiner team. They have a greater winning streak by themselves, compared to then they combine into Menasor, who has quite a loosing streak. :P Keep on being amazing, Double Thumbs Up. ;D

Shutout to my hometown of Fort Wayne, IN home to the first BotCon.
Out of all their incarnations, the originals are my favorites. I always found it interesting that while the Autobot Combiners tended to have physical weaknesses, the Decepticon Combiners all had mental ones. I must admit though that I liked that some of the Combiner Wars teams had more members, so could result in different variations of Menasor. In recent years I wish they had shown the ability to channel their individual powers into Menasor's weapons, for example Dragstrip's plasma abilities into his gun or Breakdown's vibration abilities into the sword.
