Would really appreciate a reply here. You say all the bolts for the arm should be replaced. From the video, for each side, I count the bolt at the bend of the arm (18mm), and the 3 bolts near the bushing (1x 18mm and 2x 16mm). Are these 4 the only ones that need to be replaced (per side)? Does the 18mm bolt accessed through the hole of the arm at 1:55 need to be replaced too?
Do I need to loosen the one screw/bolt to the steering column shaft inside the drivers side cabin (under the pedals) to drop cradle down or no? I am concerned that if I don't I will bend something, since the steering rack is connected to the subframe on the VW Jetta
Make sure you see if it's lined up, then get those bolts in. Hahah. Great video, thanks. I need to replace the pass. side on mine, I've got wobble and almost no bushing.
Thanks for the video, I'd heard that replacing the lefthand side lower control arm is more difficult than the righthand side one, and this confirms it. If you're working off axle stands, can you use a trolly jack to support the 'cradle' while you lower it to allow access to the front pivot bolt? Or does this job really need to be done off a hoist?

I didn’t catch the torque specs for the two upper and lower cradle bolts and the three steering rack bolts. Does anyone happen to have these???
It kills me that you keep using the torque wrench after it's clicked to go another 90⁰
Great video thank you
i can not find the torque for the bolt you accessed through the hole in the control arm
anybody help please.
are they universal?
These are stretched bolt and in such are one time use...
Would you please tell me the size of the bolt and nut to replace on the lower control arm?
You can find the replacement hardware on fcp euro
I wish you could service my 2009 VW Jetta…gifting to granddaughter 2023.
…excellent
Please use newton Metres- I mean if you’re using metric for the bolts…
