For a potato that loves cooking, I made some really potato mistakes about the foods. Here are some corrections: After the bogwitch update Fish need to be prepared in the preparation table. This sadly need iron so in the black forest your 3rd option can be boar jerky In the Swamps you already unlock the serpent stew and if you are really brave you can search for bonemaw serpents at the edge of the boiling water for an extra crazy health food! All Mistlands foods combined gives 300 health, and of course not 245 Thank you @poohbear4702, @seraswiktoria1003 and @bassbar3239 for bringing these to my attention!
1:50 Emma the cauldron doesn't make fish anymore. They pushed it back essentially to the iron age now, because you need the food processing table to make fish.
Really good point, sorry for this, iron is indeed needed now to prepare fish. I though I covered all the changes of the bog update. I wonder if I can edit this though youtube 🤔
@@emmatpotato I personally don't like this change, as I feel like fish shouldn't be pushed back so far. But that's probably because of my overall feeling that the game moves too slowly, and my runs usually end about at the swamp age or so.
I absolutely feel the same way, it made finding a fish on the shore so special and it opened up some more food options early game. you had to be lucky or know what you are doing. I really love cooking in this game but the options early game all get pushed back atm :D
Outstanding video! Expertly organized and edited. I just started a new playthrough recently and I've just defeated Bonemass, so still pretty early game. I'm really looking forward to exploring the Ashlands for the first time and trying out all the new recipes! This video makes me wanna dive back in right now! Thanks, Emma!
From the moment you get access to feasts, the game changes, if you have a portal rollout that works well, you can effectively rollout with a good amount of time on foods to run around for a good long while, an can keep off of stuffing your build with too much food, it really helps to expand your slots if you're able to manage the food times well, only carrying a few extra foods at a time~
Lovely video! But a few corrections regarding the max HP achievable at every biome: Starting from Swamp, you can use both Serpent Meat AND Serpent Stew + Sausages, for a max of 230 HP. THAT SAID, as soon as you unlock the Longboat and the Iron Cooking Station, you can travel down to the border of the Ashlands and Bonemaws will spawn outside of the boiling water, this gives you access to a 90 HP food as early as the iron age, increasing your total HP DRAMATICALLY for every biome before Ashlands. (In my hardcore no map no portals world, I was petrified of Moder's frost breath so I ended up hunting bonemaws before even fighting Moder, and reached a whopping 265 HP for my Moder fight)
Those are some really hardcore Valheim strategies, and can definitely work! I sadly really missed the mark on some foods in this video, and I love cooking in this game. The serpent soup indeed can be crafted in the swamps, for some reason I had written down it needed an extra expansion. Going to write it all down and take it with me for 1.0 :). Thanks for the cool inspiration, the bonemaw tip is pretty crazy! And bonemaw attacks normal serpent so you can get the best of both worlds if you play it right :D
ive been playing since quitting before the hearth and home update , im convinced, if they just raise all the benefits of current food/potions/armor and get rid of Rest/rested buff the game would be a little smoother with gameplay. its so annoying trying to "maximize" my health/Stamina just for it to slowly dwindle over time forcing me to do "speed runs" just to do simple gathering/fighting. its seems like a waste of game mechanic. but im just venting i guess
No worries, you can vent, and the manner in which you do it is totally acceptable (in my opinion). In testing it was was indeed very clear a lot of the health you get start to lower very early on. If you look at the overview with all 5 different statuses the lower ones dont even reach the top since it takes that long to fill. It feels like more tweaking in this system is needed
@@emmatpotato 1. freezing dont heal at all 2. talking about armor in a health video 3. you cant cook fish anymore untill you make the preparation table 4. fires in mountain dont keep you warm but at cold lvl if you dont have any other frost protection or shelter 5. you can make seprent stew at lvl2 cauldron, no need to go to mountain 6. you always say upgrade your helmet because it doent cost movement speed, not a single word for troll or fenris armor. and you dont mention the speed reduction of tower shields. So a new player following your video sould whear padded helmet with leather tunic and pants and go to mistlands with blackmetal tower shield...

@@emmatpotato Yes. Hopefully with the announcement that something new will be in every biome before 1.0, we'll see some good early game stuff.
In the Mistlands I tend to lose health per tick 😉
The text overlays look really nice in this video
Good one :D!
Thank you for the support!
Great video! looking forward to the upcoming ones 😊
Yay! Thank you!

Good strategy and it gives me food to think about
Great video! Just a Little error in the ashlands: 95+100+105 is not 245. 😉
Aaah good catch! Man and such a silly one to get wrong :D

Good call on the bonemaw. I will keep that in my back pocket for next play thru.

I had a mini panic attack at 1:46. XD
Exactly my reaction when I see them in the game :D
The video quality is very good, you worked very hard to make this video, anyway you are a Viking warrior of Valheim. I am a warrior of Valheim.❤❤❤❤
Thank you, I truly appreciate it :), and yes we are! Skal!
Great video learned a lot
Glad it was helpful!
amazing video , even though i knew all these stuff this is a ver inforamtive video
Love, the content, how many people can your server hold, i got one but don't know how to optimize it?
Thank you! 10 Is the standard, but there are mods to open it up to more players even
I know you like them survival games but, have you ever considered playing eco? I would like to watch you play it. (:
I had never heard of Eco, so looked it up and it looks really fun, I'll keep it on my radar :)

decent try with a lot of mistakes but ok +1 for that lovely voice
How many mistakes would you count if you had to? I rather work on it so it is all correct next time :)
