    These were very common in New Zealand. I had the 1994 fxgt manual. Amazing car. Have fun! Had mine for about 16 years no hassles.

    Proud to own one of these. Fairly common in New Zealand and a great little car

    Thanks for the video. I saw the FX base model version of this while traveling in Vientiane, Laos, a few years ago. I never knew a GT version existed. I owned a 1987 FX-16 for 17 years and loved it. Mine had the same (or very similar) steering wheel as your 1990 FX GT.

      Yeah I feel very fortunate I was able to get one. Now they seem very difficult to find even in markets where they were sold.

    Love this car. Sadly, you will be one of the few people that bring these cars in.

    This car and civic EF hatch look very similar. Low sales of AE82 is the reason they didn't sell this in the US. Unfortunately everyone was buying civic or golf, many hatches suffered the same fate like this such as the Suzuki swift, isuzu imark, renualt and many others.

      Yeah it was not a strong hot hatch market here, but it seemed like Toyota made little effort then walked away leaving it to the GTI and Civic SI. They seemed to do the same with 4wd wagons, even after what I thought was some success with the Tercel and Corolla Alltrac. Toyota just built and handed that market to Subaru. (I have no idea about sales numbers. Just a speculation.)

    When you sell this, I will be first in line! BTW I live in slc.

    Those “boring” e90 wagons are actually cool with the right wheels and suspension. The mpg is also better than the wagon with and.

      I've really come around to the wagons in the last while. Would love to give one all the fun guts from my Prizm GSI sedan.

    Awesome i had the jdm fxgt when i was 19 (11 years ago)and loved it. I just bought a Corolla gti (pretty much a fxgt but has 240km speedo) its got the smallport and its wild to drive. Can i ask how much it cost total to buy and ship?

      Nice! What country are you in? I won't reveal my price, but JDM Legends has a cost breakdown on their website and mine fits the low-budget example very closely.

    red top model 130 hp

    • @ADub-Bub
      @ADub-Bub  Год назад +1

      That's right. I avoid calling them "red top" though because it's ambiguous. Easy to confuse with older TVIS variety 4AGE engines with similar red lettering on the cam covers. I encourage calling these "small port", and the older variety "large port" or "TVIS". The large/small port reference is the design of the intake ports on the head which you can't see on an assembled engine, but the easy visual identifier is the ribbed top surface of the intake manifold on the small port variety, vs the "TVIS" badge on the older large port intake.

    Most of these cars found in New Zealand, but here in the US we have the Fx 16 and Fx16 Gts. I got the base fx16 but wanna trade for a gts. I'll trade for your ae92 🙏 please.

    • @ADub-Bub
      @ADub-Bub  2 года назад

      Hah! I'll pass, thanks but honestly you should give your FX16 all your love. I've owned a few AE82 FX16s, and my first car was a GTS. They are great cars and in some ways more fun and stylish than the AE92. GTS is just some extra cladding, cool but no more fun to drive. I've got an 4AGE swap FX project haunting my yard that I'm very excited to get on the road.
