This is definitely a “taking a flyer” which is something teams normally don’t do with a 1RP. But, the Knicks mentality has to be that he’s 18, he’s a raw talent, they dont have as many 1st round picks for awhile, so this could be a good long term investment to make up for said draft picks going to Brooklyn. This pick is anywhere between a B and A- depending on how he develops. But that mid-range shot is very nice.
Whenever I see shooting guards 6’7”-6’9”, it gets me excited. Tall players who can get buckets will always have a place in the league. Whether its spot up shooting like Novak, or a bit of shot creation like Michael Beasley. Tall bucket getters are essential for the 9th-12th rotation spot
@@denzelxebec I’m not arguing that. I’m saying we can always get excited for at all player who can get buckets accept Kevin Knox cause he was that but he was total trash
I loved this pick. He's already 6'9 in shoes. He'll most likely grow another inch. He's also a solid shooter, can create his own shot, his handle looks fluid. With thibs helping him defensively, he could be a 6'10 2 way wing. That's exciting!!
Love your analysis. The new Knick Front Office has 7:12 done well with late round draft picks. All of the videos on Pacome looks promising, in addition is english is excellent so blending in won’t be a problem.
If his shot (which looks awesome) translates and he plays some defense, I can definitely see him getting minutes, especially at his size. A spot-up 3 point shooter with the ability to attack closeouts while playing with effort defensively.
So he has the makings of a current NBA superstar. Because they love traveling. Apparently so the refs since they no longer call it in games anymore. Lebron, Tatum, KD, Harden, Brunson, Embiid, etc.
A development piece to stash away for a year or 2. His defense would get him playing time not his shooting like this guy is saying. With Thibs..no D no minutes

I think Dadiet will get limited playing time in his rookie year similar to Quickley and Toppin did their rookie years. With the injuries suffered by NY last season it will be important that NY learns the importance of player development. It is also worth mentioning that although they are a young team the Knicks window will be very small and this team will be entirely different within 2 seasons. By ages 21-22 i expect Dadiet to be a 2nd or 3rd option on this team. IMHO within 4 years people will look back and say Dadiet should've been a lottery pick
He's a very raw 3 and we good there so maybe in 3-4 years we'll see him - unless multiple (3) injuries to rotation guys - same with Kolec. Will be interesting when Deuce, Dante and Josh are up for new deals.
This videos is too early to say it’s a steal. The kid has not even crack Thibs rotation yet or play any NBA minutes. Need to play first and show consistency BEING in rotation to make impact. If he is consistently playing then the creator can say he’s the steal of draft. The kid hasnt even played a single second in NBA. What if he sits out entire season? He’s steal of draft?😂
This was a "weaker" draft so I trust the scouts to find value in picks. I also don't think he needs to become anything more than a solid role player. And then anything after that is gravy. We'll see how he plays in the summer league.
He sounds like what we already had in Danilo. Gallinari, but we gave up for a burger and some fries with Carmela. Anthony anthony like I hope he works out better than that. Did for all of us including all of us. Because it wasn't pretty for any of us. Includes Danilo gallinois.
I don’t expect anything good from him but I hope I’m wrong. 6’8 without the best handle and no defense screams Kevin Knox. He’s not a Thibs player but can’t hurt letting him ride the pine and seeing what happens in 2 years
He's talented but he's going to be on the Duece plan. He's not going to get a lick playing until at least 2-3 Seasons from now. He's strictly G League for the next 2-3 Seasons.
The only reason Deuce took so long is because his shooting took a while to develop. If Pacome can hit shots and not be a liability on D Thibs will reward him.

As a New York Knicks fan, I'm hoping for the best. I would have went with Terrence Shannon Jr. from Illinois though. Patience is not on Pacome Dadiet's side as the New York Knicks are in win now mode. French players in the NBA take a while to develop. Mind you, New York is a place that is not patient. It's a fast place for a reason.
garbage pick! They needed to trade up and get Edey who is now killin it in Summer league. he was the two time player of the year and was perfect for the Knicks team. instead they gave away all their picks to get a player that would be the third best on most NBA teams. The Knicks have had one bad draft after another. How many of these garbage international guys do we have to watch fail?
Evan Fournier is 10 times a better shooter, heck he has a Knicks record for more 3's made in a season and coach thibs glue him to the bench a whole season😂 this kid would be lucky to see 1 second of garbage time 😂
All I can say is thank God we are not depending on our draft picks on transforming our roster. I doubt we ever see this dude in a Knicks uniform. The Europeans simply don’t play defense… don’t play defense you won’t play for the Knicks

He won't play for the Knicks, he will be traded. The Knicks rotation has no room and they are in a win now mode, so unless some major injury happens and God knows we had enough of that in 2024, then he never sees floor.
Was Pacome Dadiet a good pick for the Knicks?
Yea he already look more confident than Kevin Knox already
He kind of reminds me of Kelly Oubre Jr
