Hey, @TechZone, Do you have any idea how AGGRAVATING it is when you use some mysterious thing for the thumbnail image, and then NEVER TELL US WHAT IT IS?! Do you really have to be told that nobody likes it? It should be rare, but it's rather common. What is wrong with all you RUclipsrs that think it's OK to do that?

Adam, the tool you are demonstrating is called Safety Wire Plyers.
Yes, you are right about how safety wiring is used more in aviation.
As a retired USAF veteran and a 30+ year fighter jet mechanic.
Safety wiring is an art form for many of us. There are strict rules to appropriately safety wire. Most mechanics will redo the safety wire if it doesn't 'feel or look' right. What I mean is even if I safety wired something correctly per written rules... We'll completely redo a safety wire If we don't like the 'look.' If you're interested, look up safety wiring by hand. I'd have to look, but there is or was an excellent RUclips video showing a USAF mechanic safety wiring by hand.
As always, THANK YOU for sharing your SKILLS, HUMOR, KNOWLEDGE, and PASSIONATE CURIOSITY.

Its been my experience that if work in a rate shop where you can do meth and get your job in 3 hours an get paid for 12, that is considered acceptable. And I am not joking. Or coke. Whatever. You also need to be willing to be a jerk of the highest caliber to anyone that gets in your way. I worked jobs like that. Minus the meth. I have been assaulted because co workers thought I was going too slow.
Anyway, aside from those jobs. If you work hourly and are exceptional, its been my experience also that you will be expected to take on more and more. More and more. More and more...the better you do, the easier your job gets, the more that they want to pile on. Hell, a co worker can quit and you are just suddenly expected to do their job too......and they wont tell you right off the bat, you will just be expected to do it and you realize that because they start getting crappy with you specifically because it isnt getting done and guess what? You are there and can do it and you arent and suddenly its your job. So....when 4 people quit, the average company can just buy 4 more robots and it will correct things?
Also, think of this. Those robots come with shortcomings. Operators. Maintenance. Programmers. Special support for when they malfunction......and how much do they cost? $40k a year is still pretty standard around here. Is some stupid robot that requires all that a feasible solution for a factory around here that needs boxes hauled around? Or would they just hire some illegal alien who you can pay for 10 years and wont cost as much as the robot be the better option? Lets be realistic. And people are fighting for jobs now.
I think this is all speculation and ignorant. And 55lbs weight is not impressive at all. For a clumsy robot.
