I just created a custom thread chart I can use in PE-Design 11 for ThreadArt colors, found out that you can import these color charts once you make them - and that is one more nice feature that can be used in this software! Good Video, and thanks.
WOW!! I am sooooo glad I found you!! I just purchased this software and don't want to attend classes anywhere so THANK YOU so much for taking the time to go over all this stuff!!! I truly appreciate it!! Looking forward to watching and learning from you!
I'm *VERY NEW* in machine embroidery and just today, I decided that I was to try out digitizing my own designs. Embird was so confusing and complicated, even though everyone was saying it was the best. Whether it's the best or not, it's not as user friendly and newbie friendly as I need it to be. PE Design might fit the bill here. I know digitizing has a learning curve to it, but maybe this program will be better for clueless people like me. I still have the trial version, so I don't have all the features yours does. I think I may have to buy it.
Thanks, Terry. Lesson 1 Basics is just what I needed. Trying to wean myself away from Bernina V7, but for me it has been a long and hard process because it is where I know where everything is. I know your videos will help me get acquainted with PED11 so I will know where things are and what they are called.
meadowviewmanor - I know exactly what you mean. I owned Bernina’s way before Brother machines, so I kept up my software and have Bernina V8. When I got PE Design 11 with my Luminaire, I decided the best way to learn the software was to teach others. Trust me, PED 11 is easier than Bernina although they have different features. I still love Bernina V8 and use it when I want a feature not in PED 11.
Thank you so much. I have a new Brother embroidery machine arriving in 6 weeks and am looking at purchasing PE Design 11 also. So these videos are going to be very helpful in getting me knowledge.
Hello Terry. Thank you for a very useful video. I have pe11, but when I put in a bought design, and I want to turn it into a patch, the satin border is not going around the design. It seems to be off centre. I use the auto patch feature. How can this be fixed? Thank you.
Terry, I have learned a lot from your videos,, but I don't like having to have my PE Design on a pc instead of my Mac. Do you know if it will run on a Mac if I am using Parallels?
Have recently found your videos and absolutely LOVE them!! You mentioned Scan & Cut tab in this video. I have a Solaris and Palette 11 Software. I am also looking to get a Scan N Cut SDX225. I do not see that tab on Palette. Will it work with Palette 11 like it appears it will with the Brother PE Design 11 software or will I need to purchase other software? If other software, any recommendations?
@@terrymaffitt4012 not sure. Still learning Palette. Since both Palette and Scanncut read PES files I hoped they'd 'play together' to make applique easier for me.
So with the basic out of the box PE design 11. What is included in that program? Is it in levels like Embrilliance? The basic embrilliance only lets you do a few things. Then to start digitizing there are other levels that have to purchased so it turns into alot of money. Do my question is can you digitize a design with the start up version of this program or do you have to add things to it?
Thank you. I have worked with PE Design Next for many years but recently downloaded Pallete 11 that came with my Solaris. It is good to have a refresher course on the basics and I look forward to more of your lessons. I learn more b watching than reading. One thing I would like is a list of keyboard shortcuts if that is possible.
I have had my software for years and never used it. When I loaded the software and opened it for the first time it ask for a Key. Where do I find the Key. Thanks
I enjoyed watching your first 2 Pe Design 11 videos. On the second video you mentioned the importance of watching your videos in order and I think you said there are over 80 videos. You are an excellent instructor and I would like to continue learning my new Pe Design 11 from you. So how do I go about getting all your videos in order to to do this? Thank you.
Most of my PE Design videos were organized covering a Main menu function. There were in Series such as Text, Shapes, and Stitches. Other videos were some of the menu items such as PhotoStitch or Applique. I would search for my name and the topic you are trying to find such as Terry Maffitt Applique.
Hi, I’m learning so much. I have the version 9 and am contemplating upgrading to 11. I have a question, I found on eBay for $99 which is electronic download. Does it not have a dongle? My current version 9 has a long cord and box. I’d love to be rid of that! Also, I’m guessing you would definitely recommend upgrading. Many thanks!
Hi I’m looking at buying this software and would like to ask if I’ve installed the pe in my old laptop n one day I change laptop- will the license allow the installation again into my new com? Your video is great! Tq for doing this guide
J S - Glad you like the video. When you buy the software you get a software key(usb dongle). You can install on multiple machines but need to have the USB key in the computer to operate the software.
MaryJo Engleton - the ScanNCut tab allows you to send cut files to the Brother Scan N Cut or to Brother Canvas Workspace which is a design environment for crafting with paper, vinyl and fabric. Do you own Palette 11 or PE Design 11? The Scan N Cut feature is not on the Babylock products. You may be able to save the cut lines as a SVG file but I do not own that software.
MaryJo Engleton - do you have an option to Export a SVG. Select the Home Icon in the upper left and look at the menu options. If you can export a cut line to a SVG, you can import this into all of the major digital cutter programs and the ScanNCut.
MaryJo Engleton - there are ways around this, you can capture a screen shot with the Snipping tool in Windows and create a jpg. It is extra steps though.
Where can I buy this software that it isn’t a thousand god damn dollars!? Or even three hundred dollars! It’s ridiculous! Why would I buy a software that costs more than the machine? It should come with the machine! I see there’s some hackers on Etsy that want to “take control” of your computer to “install” it for you (because they can’t give you the key). Not falling for that. I live in Wyoming, there isn’t a dearlwr within a hundred and fifty miles, and then I don’t even know if they have the software. Can’t buy it if Brother’s website! Did I just buy a $400 machine that isn’t shit without spending another 400-1000 dollars!?
There are very few full digitizing packages that sell for less than $1,500. If you don’t want to digitize, i.e. add text to a design and maybe resize or remove parts of a design, look at Embrillance software. It is sold in modules. Another option is to consider Hatch software (also sold in modules). Hatch is made by Wilcom who is well known in the industry for the premier software for industrial embroidery machines. There are subscription based programs like MySewnet made for Singer, Pfaff and Husqvarna Viking machines. You can look at their subscriptions to see if this is more practical for you.
@@terrymaffitt4012 I have two small logos I just need to convert from PDF to PES, then layer them so that they’ll stitch. I’m new to this but didn’t realize it would be so expensive to make a couple logos. They’re not super detailed. And they only have red, black, silver and white. Just need to make them work on my machine so I can embroider some clothes for myself…
Thank you for lesson 1. It’s been a blessing to know this channel. God bless you! Looking forward for many lessons with you.

I wish they would update the interface. This looks like a Windows 7 UI.
Yeah, one of the biggest pros for wilcom is that their software doesn't look like it's stuck in the past.
I started PE Design version 4, but then years go by when I don’t use the program. I forgot about holding down the control key when resizing. Thanks.
Excellent. Thank you for sharing.

Sorry, no this is sold by Dealers.
If i have a macbook air, i cannot use this, right? because the machine has a usb enter , which i do not have
You can buy an adaptor for the mac entrance
