I am an independent radio D.J. in Vancouver. I got to this point by paying attention , and it is my job to pay attention. I dont like it anymore than you. But get your head outta the sand ! Rock and Roll is dying ! Things like cover bands and regurgitated Rock are killing it. It's far more important To see the guys that never ' made it' , like Flag, still rocking. Because it puts the idea in peoples heads to try something new...which is the only way that the smatterings of really great bands left can carry the banner for a new era of Rock and Roll .

I'll take things that never happened for 200, Alex. Flag is technically regurgitated, they are somewhat of a cover band. I enjoy them but they arent original. They never claimed to be either. Besides there are new bands out there, go find them DJ

Greg was also playing these songs with his version of Black Flag with other guys that weren't in the original line up as I'm sure you are aware of. I'm not agreeing or disagreeing with you just want to understand what you meant. It's all good fun either way. Apples and Oranges really. I prefer this line up for personal reasons and I think they really play well as a unit. Thats my opinion and that's all that is. Your correct in the sense they were never going to get played on the Radio which is a compliment to me. Bands like Blink 182 and Green Day made a killing financially and thats fine, but it damn sure isn't what I call Punk. Thats what I call regurgitation. Bubblegum Punk Pop Rock ?

This is like an upgrade of Black Flag, a revolving of the best musicians ever played in classic Black Flag era, classics setlists songs and sounds amazing(better than most of the bands today)

I went to the vegas PRB, And was stoked for Flag, Subhumans, Exploited,and all the rest of the bands that played that Saturday..Tossed down a bottle of Jim Beam, with a friend from the liquor store across the street from the entrance.. Good fukin times..👊
I was there. 2013 and 2016. First time at PRB IN 2013. Flag, DRI ,subhumans and casualties. All same day.

I agree that the photographers are in the way but I still don’t think that’s as bad as all the phones at shows these days. In my opinion, someone going to a punk show to hold their phone in place while not dancing and getting pissed when people bump into them is about as punk rock as pop radio, MTV, or Blink 182!

Acrylic drums are absolute monster sounding live. MUCH better sounding live than in the studio. I bought one just to play live. I could never get it to sound right recording with it. Junior from One Eyed Doll turned me on to them. His kit sounds AMAZING live and so does Bills.
It's probably a rental as they do mostly fly in shows these days and they just have the festival or venue provide the gear based on specs. I have noticed that most times Stephen is using Blackstar amps but I have also seen him use Marshalls on different dates on the same tour just a city over and Bill's drums would be different too.
