    I know the time of day is different and I apologize for that, but it's pretty hard to get it to match up when the time seems to be universal and there's weather change too. I waited over an hour on PC earlier for clouds to lift and the storm to pass lol. Does anybody know if there's an option to change the time maybe?
    The difference in quality should still be quite obvious though.

      You could've started the same investigation that starts on a specific time of day and weather :D Happy hunting in2025

    I sometimes wonder if devs try to make games run worse harder than they try to make them run right.
    I guess sometimes they just look at the best available hardware and just trash in as many objects as they can until they think performance shouldn't be lower.
    Like they not even look at gfx programming or anything related.
    I think with today's tools this is very well a possibility. And it is hilarious when you see that alot of PS3/360 ERA games simply look better. Of course the polygon count is much higher here, but if you just trash all over it with crappy physics, shadows, image quality and lighting, that doesn't matter anymore.

    Ben Buja? I remember watching your GTA 5 and RDR machinima stuff, how the time flies holy shit

    This is the biggest difference between console and PC in this generation until now.

    • @extrabenbuja
      @extrabenbuja  21 день назад +2

      Image quality on console took a nosedive since FSR became popular to use there I think. Some games look really blurry on consoles lately, like FF7 Rebirth unfortunately. Fortunately PS5 Pro with PSSR will improve image quality a ton.

    Can you share your PC build? Is this maxed Ultra without any DLSS/FSR active?

      It's native 4K with DLAA at max settings and frame generation on. My build is RTX 4090, 7800x3D.

    make no sense this u have a 4k pc native probably min 3500 $ machine vs a 400 $ i dont know dude

      So? This is a graphics comparison of a game. Not a value or performance per dollar comparison.
      Of course the PS5 is much cheaper.

    Ps5 is so dead if it relies on upscaling. Native is much more beautiful I tested this myself. We have to hope that on release they will fix this. I want fellow hunters can enjoy this beautiful game as well. It does require a lot of specs requirement.

    • @extrabenbuja
      @extrabenbuja  21 день назад

      The problem with the PS5 version is that the upscaler it uses is really bad I think. (Most likely FSR) Performance mode looks like it runs at 720p at times and it still doesn't run smooth. Resolution mode looks sharper, but still doesn't look good overall and runs even worse. Digitalfoundry will probably look into the details some more.
      I hope the PS5 Pro version looks and runs better with PSSR...

      I played on Resolution mode on PS5 and it ran pretty well and looked beautifull and sharp! Performance mode blurry but still playable

    its not true 🤣 i play on twice and on my PS5 4k TV OLED its clean 👌 just the biggest different is framate 30FPS on PS5 😞 but its really clean

      I played both on the same TV, but image quality looks really bad on PS5.

    This says nothing because of framegen and no fps

      Except the ABSOLUTE MASSIVE difference in image and graphical quality, but ok.

    • @flar2me240

      @extrabenbuja played both.
      Ps5 Looks nice in quality. If you set it to 120 hz it runs very good.
      Played it on pc too and it runs not really good

    shit garbage 60fps mode on console kill all the art of the game, the worst mode.

  • @krisz195
    @krisz195 21 день назад +1

    I'm not doubting the console version looks worse but this is a simply misleading - just usual PC masterrace stuff... Now do both with the same lighting. We are two generations into realizing that lighting is what truly makes graphics and you show a PC video where all the details are hidden in the orange lights and there are shadows everywhere all while the console version has the most basic cloudy noon lighting... There is a reason why you chose exactly this comparison ;)
    Furthermore, if you can run native 4K, you're probably comparing a 4000$ PC to a 500$ console - just the usual PC masterrace stuff...
    Sorry, 450$. As PC is digital only now, the digital only PS5 price should be considered. Look, my 9 times more expensive machine runs a game better!
    If that's not enough, usually the 150$ PC, GTX 960 guys check these videos and say whooooo what a good choice they made. All while playing on 640x360 native, ultra low - with some config file changes so they can go lower than the game allows. But hey, they have 24fps! - just the usual PC masterrace stuff.
    For some reason, 99% of PC gamers act like they have the highest tier rigs lol. Just the usual PC masterrace stuff.
    That is one severe reason I'm not going back to PC gaming. The community man...
    If you really want to show just a graphics comparison of what is possible on each machine, do an objective one, with the same conditions, like DF does.
    First of all, if you take the highest graphics options for PC, you can start by not using the lowest one for console...
    These "little" details give away how you're not about "just showing graphics differences". You're showing the world how better you are for having money for a high-end PC. Just usual PC masterrace stuff.

      I already wrote a comment about why the lighting conditions are different. They are different time of day, but not different weather. They're the same sunny conditions but it's a bit later on PC. That does not affect the image quality.
      It was pretty hard to get the exact same time of day on both version. I waited like an hour for cloudy condtions and a storm to pass to finally get the sunny weather for both.
      The majority of players (including me) play console versions in performance mode so that's what I compared it to.
      To be frank the game just looks ass on PS5, there's no way around it and Digital Foundry will show this as well. It looks like it runs at 720p at times.
      I'm hoping PSSR on the PS5 Pro will improve things.

    • @krisz195
      @krisz195 21 день назад

      @extrabenbuja Sorry for being rude before, I'm just fed up with the PC master race mentality but I guess you get that by now lol
      I still think you should have made a more fair comparison but I get that's not exactly easy.
      Anyway, the Pro will definitely help... It's just I think it won't be the Pro itself. I think we are going into an era where the base versions will intentionally be heavily underwhelming so they can sell more Pros. This is just gut feeling but let's wait and see how base PS5 and XSX versions compare. If XSX performs better that's a telltale sign of deliberate impairment. I hope I use the right words :D
      Seeing how everything still runs on the Series S tho - even if with graphical sacrifices - makes me think this whole Pro thing is a marketing bullshit.

      @@krisz195 No worries. I think it's just a shame that some games look so blurry on PS5 lately, especially compared to earlier releases. Ratchet & Clank, Demon's Souls or Spiderman 2 for example look and run amazing. I don't think it's the right move to drop resolution so low and rely on upscaling, you could be on to something that they drop it on purpose to sell PS5 Pros lol. Even a lot of PS4 games had much better image quality.

  • @Legnica148
    @Legnica148 21 день назад +2

    This is very misleading and not my experience AT ALL. I hope you are not running each on different resolutions..? The comparison must be at the same.

    • @extrabenbuja
      @extrabenbuja  21 день назад +11

      How is it misleading if it shows the PS5 version exactly how it looks and runs in performance mode?
      I'm not gonna drop resolution or other settings on PC to match the PS5, that would defeat the point of a comparison.
