Higher Learning is and was my movie. I watched it with my son a couple of months ago. I thought the message that the movie conveyed was important. When Michael said, it hurts, it hurts. That REALLY always get to me. And the way that Omar's character was grieving the loss of Daja. People don't realize how important it is to let go of hatred and malice and bitterness and unforgiveness of any kind.

I love Omar Epps. He has so much range and versitality as an actor. I first saw higher learning my first full semester in college. I didn't tell anyone but during that time I had my first of many sexual assaults.
Seeing higher learning as a young 20 year old college student, the movie not only taught me about racial bias, racial cliques that may exist on college campuses it taught me as a young rape victim everyone processes assault, rape and trauma differently.
As I said before shortly after I started my first full semester I was raped and sexually assaulted by someone who I thought was my friend and we had been friends for almost three years when this sexual assault took place.
As I result of my sexual assault by this so called friend I started to rebel and just do anything to numb the emotional pain I was feeling. Not only because my rapist was supposedly my friend this was only my second sexual experience and my then and now fiance could immediately tell something was wrong with me . He asked me are you cheating on me I said no , but I couldn't bare to tell the love of my life that I had been sexually assaulted /raped . I didn't want the love of my life to go to jail if I told him what really happened to me because I couldn't imagine my life without him then and I can't imagine my life without him now.
Lastly I want to say I agree with you Omar love and basketball shouldn't get a reboot or remake because it's a classic that really defined a generation and to be completely honest taught me what I can physically do and tolerate during sexual activities and or sexual intercourse.
May God continue to bless you and your family Omar today and everyday after. 🙏🙏💕💕😊😊

Everything doesn't need a reboot or remake. Let Classics stay Classics. Maybe even really work hard and come up with new ideas. Do people know we really haven't been remaking everything throughout the history of films? Imagine if we were redoing old silent films and talkies. Shit would be so lame now. I still watch them old jonts and appreciate them for what they were. Don't even need technicolor.

Omg this guy has turned out to be everything. I love it and to seal it the way he spoke about his wife and children blessed me. Been crushing on him since Juice. He still the man💜

I'm gunna say the thing you ain't supposed to say.....when I was a youth I was actually sad that him and Sanaa Lathan broke up....as I have gotten older, I can see why it was the best thing for the both of them, and I'm really happy they chose not to hold each other back. I don't know why they did, but I'm happy for them, because I see him and Keisha whom I also a absolutely adore, and my heart is glad that they share the love they do. It truly is devine poetry !!
