Richie Havens was one of my favorite musicians. All his performances were energizing, electrifying and took one out of time. I just loved him and miss being able to go hear him play. He was the BEST!!!! A kind man and a true master! We miss you, Richie. You gave you heart and soul and they were a beautiful gift! xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo

When i shook his hand as he was walking down the ramp behind the stage at Woodstock...I Felt electricity shoot from his sweaty hand. It was pure magic. I Was Ten then at my first concert with my older cousins. I Grew up in the 3 days i was there and left my childhood behind. Now i'm 58 and trying to find my childhood again. I've seen 48 years of this Adult world and quite frankly..don't like what i see. I Miss those years of Peace and innocence as a young boy exploring the World. Richie was my guide to a new World before me. RIP My brother...till we met again.
Tom Cook I got to see him play a small club in Boston maybe, 10 yrs ago or so. I met him after and shook his hand, I could feel the kind energy just pouring out of him. His hand was at least 2 times the size of my own!
Richie Havens est un Amour de chanteur entre folk, country, blues et soul c'est un chanteur qu'on a du mal à cataloguer, il y a Bob Dylan Cat Stevens et Richie Havens bien sûr, j'adore sa reprise de Cyndi Lauper "Time After Time" c'est un moment magique, Richie Havens is a king of tapping !!! :)
I saw him in 1970 at the Atlanta International Festival (in Byron GA), met him later that year with my fiancé and he blessed our marriage. We saw him many times until my husband died 13 years later. His show was my first outing after Ed died. I crashed the dressing room and spent a few hours with him and Paul Williams. They were both gentle souls. Saw him so many times afterwards. He saved me so many times. Really need him now!
he connected to the place that place the place linked up a conduit a source of light. the force. a jedi for peace. wielded his axe like a jedi, his voice was the force.
+Phil Lev Thanks I may have got the date from my labelling of when I recorded this so your no doubt right if you can give me the definite date of this I will amend my notes.
G'day matey. Sorry. Don't know your name. It was Sunday 20th June. 9pm'ish even. LOL! I was right at the front standing with Richie right in front of me. Was so amazed to find this. Thanks so much for putting it up. Where did you find it? Or did you make it?
It was soggy, muddy and cold and wet. The stage was little and it felt good to be that close to him. I had nowhere to sleep that was dry. On my own and I was around 30yrs old x

Met him at Howard University and shook his hand when he came out to watch BB King. His hands are huge! And so electric
His thump sticks down an inch over his guitar neck.
Did you ever wash your hand.
Any pictures?

+Phil Lev I recorded it off air in 1987
Just saw an old album cover for the Atlanta Rock Festival to be certain it was in 1970. But I smoke a lot of pot!
@@videocurios How do you mean you recorded it off air?
Steve Hackett slowed him down with ‘How Can I’. Brilliant voice control
Дякую вам дуже вдячні

Me too, went the following year too. Elvis costello played 88 if I recall
one of his best concerts.
yes definitely 82
The C.N.D.festival Van Morrison. Jackson Browne. Judie Tzuke
Tickets were £ 8.
Too many to rate but the cellar door is another great one! The ones that are the beat are when Paul Williams plays guitar.
En vivo es mejor!!!
