The music is very Lynott . All the elements are there, shuffle tempo, stop/start guitar riff, twin guitar harmonies...
This song uses the dynamics of Jailbreak and The Boys Are Back in Town.. with the chord sequences played in the " Whiter shade of pale/Rolling Stone" hybrid

Best new song I've heard in 2019.
It's like being 17 again, with a fresh taste. Now when i am turning 60 in a not so far distance it's really nice to hear a band that is respecting its heritage from lizzy and still sound new in a very fine way. Please visit Denmark with the gear and your attitude, I would happilly join. BTW the next time you make a record dont quantize it, I am sure you swing like hell and todays production methods doesn't serve music like this well, it should breathe more like the live vibe.

The song is listed as [explicit] on Amazon. On top of bombs and bums and constant looping to somehow hype it. Some bands will do just about everything to get attention. An original quality song instead of a revamped reworking of an earlier release and a more authentic line up might have done the trick.

What do I know? At least they care to try. I will listen to "spirit slips away. " By Thin Lizzy and cry in the corner. ----I do not think Lynott's music was fun time stuff. I bet Grand Slam was not happy to see Lynott in the state he was in at the time. --God, it hurts taking about Lynott and so many others that are true heroes in this world. ---I am glad people have things to say on here. --In the end, it is really about Lynott, and the band (Thin Lizzy) that is part of rock history. --Go and play some songs. We love you for doing it. --I hope to the best of them that the new Grand Slam carves something into the wood. --Let us all rock!!
Good time feel with great harmony guitars, nice to hear something positive & you are obviously having genuine fun as a band in the video, which is a big seller these days I think.

Bel hommage à THIN LIZZY et à PHIL LYNOTT.. Merci au vendeur pour ces conseils. Je suis reparti avec entre autre du GIRLSCHOOL, du RAINBOW, du OZZY et ANGEL CITY, que du bonheur...

Used to love Grandslam with Phil and Mark Stanway. Where's Mark? Same logo but a band that has nothing to do with the Grand Slam of old? Just cashing in on name and logo?

@@harrype3283 Sadly Phil is gone but Grand Slam without Mark Stanway doesn't make any sense at all. Mark was with Phil long before Archer joined. Talk has it Archer pushed Stanway out of the band to finally be in the spotlight. Some guys'd do everything for a bit of fame. Sounded promising at first but such behaviour makes me loose interest in the band.

Stumbled upon this, very good, better than I'd expected. Like the vocals, suits a Lynotty song without trying to sound like Lynott. Off the back of just this one anyay they stands up well compare to (if not better than actually) Black Star Riders. Interesting twin guitar sound from one guitarist :)
Did this get any airplay on Planet Rock? It's better than a lot of the repeated-to-death stuff they keep playing from people who don't need any royalties, they should play this sort of thing and give underexposed bands some visibility..

Where are the old Grand Slam pictures with Mark Stanway? As much as you might want to try erasing Mark's legacy with Phil Lynott's Grand Slam and previously with Phil Lynott's Solo Band - without Mark this is at best a MINOR SLAM!

It was Mark Stanway who kicked the project off but with a better line up with Neil Murray and Micky Barker.
Song is okay....the name and Logo of the Band not...Has to do 3% with Philip's GRAND SLAM..

this band confuses me. Gran slam? why? its not grand slam. no authenticity whatsoever. clearly they are using the name to gain publicity. i believe from what ive heard its a totally new band. so why then call it grand slam? no mark stanway either. so even less reason to call it grand slam. the songs ok. got lizzy all over it. but its definatley not a lizzy classic track. just an album filler. i question thw whole integrity of this project. so for that reason im out!!!!

@@harrype3283 He can't be such a nice guy if he's kicking the one out of the band who rekindled the Grandslam flame a couple of years ago and without whom he wouldn't have been part of Grandslam - old and new. Grandslam without Phil and without Mark Stanway is not Grandslam. Even if Archer desperately tries to cling to an alternative reality.

Not a bad song but: Doesn't sound like the original Grand Slam. Has no members in common with the original Grand Slam. So why call it Grand Slam? Just to cash in on former glories? Would the song not have had the potential to be promoted with an authentic new band name?

@@stormbringer76 Wrong. Grand Slam MK1 were Lynott, Sykes, Stanway, Nagle and Downey. Archer joined when John Sykes left for Whitesnake.

Archer was around far longer than Sykes and all previous recordings of Slam are with Archer. What s the problem with that?
