I haven’t played this game in a few weeks and completely forgot how funny the mace is, it seems like your videos are getting higher quality as well. Doing good man!
I'm a polearm user, just a quick tip, always hold down shift when using heavy weaponry, like shield+mace. It helps so you're balanced and lower the chances of tripping on your own legs. I'm a polearm user, so I have some PTSD with my weapon magically appearing behind my back and tripping on in
So, it doesn’t have the same length, but dropping your shield with the flanged mace (the first one you were using when fully armored) and using it two handed is just about as satisfying as the two handed spike mace is (the one you rarely see). It’s the shorter, girthier option.
Whence thine opponent topples to the ground, you can ditch thy shield, lest thy also have a shield, steady thyself, raise thy mace high and grip with two hands, and your strike will land as clean and accurate as the morning sun pierces through the mist.
If you're fighting a bill hook, or long mace where they have the shoulder shield, try swapping your shield and mace between your hands. It will open up a plethora of hits to areas less defended and your shield will be on the side that takes the most abuse.
every time i think youll just go back to some type of best moments for these, you come up with a themed video with some type of narrative, even if its vague, thank you again mrzacnono.
The mace is the best weapon in the game when you learn how to use it well. When you start, take one step to the left and then go forward and you can achieve a first hit knockout about 50% of the time.
Op but realistic, there is even an account of a knight charging at another, the other was fleeing but decides to turn his horse around, dodges the lance hitting the other on the helmet so hard he fell of his horse and lay on the ground for a while stunned and then of course told to surrender or die.
The mace has two uses for me one on less armoured opponents simply tap their knees and elbows with the ban hammer and hear them crunch or for armoured guys once I get them on the ground the mace can knock someone out quicker than just about anything but for getting them in the groud the speed from long swords and axes is just superior they can fight back in they are constantly stunned from love taps to the head
I'm convinced that the game makes the character you play a weak, asthmatic, crippled, braindead loser with glass bones and paper skin, while the enemies are all actually trained and have enough stamina to last longer than 5 seconds when exerting themselves.
Id always think that thrusting with a halberd (idk maces that looks like spears) could be viable when you think about sandor clegane from game of thrones during the battle of blackwater bay where he uses the hilt of his sword to hit the enemy like a punch to the gut, stunning them, and proceeds with a slash animation, literally destroying his enemies
X to swap hands. Defend using your right with your shield (and bash too). Use your left hand to attack. It's ridiculous!!! Do another video trying this tactic.
i also play Half Sword Demo, but i have only place with floor that looks like stones and randomly placed weapons. How to get in arena like that on your video?
Hi, if you want to play this version you'll need to request access to the playtest. Go to the Half Sword Steam page (not the demo page). There you'll see a button to request access to the playtest. You will be approved it will just take about a day, you'll get an email when you are approved. After approval, just download it and bam! You are in :)
I was curious about something I noticed. Is it the game that causes everyone to swing left then right? There seems to be an element of lost momentum when swinging left then right lessening the impact. I get that the opening on most opponents is on their right hand side it might be smarter to swing into opponent from that side. I have yet to play Half Sword, will be picking it up for sure. Is there an option to switch hands before going into a fight or is situation where you tell the game whether you're right or left and it defaults from that point forward. Thanks
Yes, you can switch hands by pressing x and thankfully everyone in Half Sword is ambidextrous haha. It does start you out as right handed as the default, but if you are good at the game and realize this, you can switch your hands to keep momentum when you swing left then right. I just forget most of the time about this, it is something I need to work on more haha.
That is a hard one! But probably a strong tie between the poleaxe and the longsword. The poleaxe if I'm playing against armored opponents and the longsword if they are unarmored.
Nope! All you need to do is to go onto the Half Sword Steam page (not the demo page) and request access. You will be granted access it will just take a day or so, you'll get an email once you are granted access. Then just download and you are in :)
I didn't like the mace for quite a while as well. It is just a different playstyle than a sword or poleaxe. A lot slower and more tactical, give it a try some time!
I hope they add flails in. It’s almost weird that a physics-based medieval combat game like this wouldn’t have one.

“I don’t know how well this will pay off”
immediately sends the first guy to the ER
Ah yes, medieval healthcare.
"Just put leech on it."
"His skull has been caved in by a mace? Hmm... Have you tried drilling a hole in his head and letting the old blood out? That should do the trick!"

May your mace be heavy, and your swings powerful!

Just so you know, the replays are a very good addition to your videos
Thank you, glad you enjoy them :)

Thank you very much for another half sword video, you are by far the best HS player I watch
Its very nice to hear your voice change when you put force into a attack :D
Good job recognizing the flailing and then making adjustments.
Thank you, great work you do with your videos!
BONKING is perfecto since it’s op

Did you just say that you can stab with a mace but you see no point in it? That mace has no point, but some do!
dude i love ur videos so much keep up the good work!
Flanged Maces my beloved
Meet the mace. It's gonna pulverize your face.
It will leave no trace, as it does erase.
Absolute bars
I've found out that the mace when you all fully armored it's easier to just use with 2 hands
This was a-mace-ing!

That hit at 16:36!!! BRUTAL! 😂

shield focused
13:00 your team threw their swords to care your mace gameplay
@11:15 Who are you now, Mace Windu? 🤣
I know its asking alot, but id love to know how targeting ankles works with a mace. Can you taco them like straws?
It does sort of work! But it is hard to hit them in the legs as you have to reach down for it and you have a higher change of exposing your head.
the crunch at 6:57 😬😬
24:45 I laughed so hard.
@19:44 Even more savage
Double hand swing the buckler Plz just try it once in a video
X to swap hands.
Defend using your right with your shield (and bash too).
Use your left hand to attack.

whats your favorite weapon so far?

@@mrzacnono Thanks!
I was here before zacnono 100k subs
Haha, a man can dream!
Please try wrestling in half sword again
I most definitely will :)
Honestly I haven't been a huge fan of using the mace, but that's probably because I have a skill issue
