Evelyn Braxton On Her Ongoing Fight To Stop Vince Herbert’s Abuse Of Tamar Braxton

- Vince Herbert and Tamar Braxton have reportedly been going through a rocky divorce, after a bit less than a decade of marriage. Shortly after that announcement, mama Evelyn Braxton told press that Vince has been abusive, and that she was worried for the safety of her daughter. She sat down with “The Rickey Smiley Morning Show” and opened up about all of that “fighting, cursing, and name calling,” she has been witnessed to, with the baby right there through it all. She says that Vince’s anger scares her to the point where she is worried that one day he will hit or push Tamar to the point of killing her. When asked how long it’s been going on, Evelyn says “a long time.” She says when her daughters have pointed it out, Tamar denies it. But, she says, the bruises are evident, and the hospital visits for “bloodclots” aren’t a coincidence.
Evelyn shares her belief that Tamar is in denial, as victims of abuse- especially domestic violence -often are. Evelyn explains how love can make women blind in these kinds of situations, and why the couple’s alleged financial troubles should have nothing to do with Vince putting his hands on her. She also reveals that although there is currently no big rift in her relationship with her daughter, Tamar will be upset with her for talking. But if speaking out keeps Tamar alive and safe from abuse, she says she can handle her being upset with her.
She also explains why she believes it is beyond the family’s ability to rehabilitate Vince. “We have embraced him, we have loved him,” Evelyn says, recalling the times when the whole family has rallied around him and supported him. Evelyn even reveals that she has confronted him directly, but all he does is blame it on Tamar’s mouth. But the way Tamar talks is no excuse, Evelyn explains, and the fact that they are constantly involved with each other- in work and play -only adds stress to the situation. “There’s more that I could say, but I won’t,” she says. My only daughter is about to be 20 next month. She went THRU this with a guy recently. She kept so much away from me but I knew. Mama's always know! And wouldn't come around me because I would tell her to leave him. I have 2 older sons and it was hell keeping them from doing something to this guy. Didnt want my boys in JAIL for beating this fool to death. He threatened her with guns saying if you leave I'm gonna kill you. But OH my god is a good GOD. I prayed and cried so hard I would get headaches. All the while she's telling me to stay out her business. Now he's in jail for 6 years for robbery....tuh he might not come when you call, but he's always on time. Thank you Jesus can't say that enough

If you pay close attention as seasons go on they started to express dislike towards Vince. This started in Season 3 during a counseling session with the sisters Towanda said Tamar turned a deaf ear when he husband did certain things. In Season 5 when they went to Mexico and she had a birthday for him none of the sisters attended especially because they could not bring their families as well. I think they may have tried to stop it behind the scenes but now that the cat’s out of the bag they decided to say something about it publicly.

Just two examples; Remember on their show when he drove her home from the hospital 2 days after giving birth to their son, he took the baby and slammed the house door in her face as she was walking in the house and locked her out? Even last night on their show, emotionally blackmailing her and switching on her in front of her friends for a joke they made about them having gout... The guy let's little signs of split personality slip out in that show, trust me.
When she was on dancing with the stars she ended up in the hospital for blood clots, from dancing I highly doubt that. I remember him saying you can't do everything she was on the real dancing with the stars and Braxton Family Vaules. It possible he had hand having her fired from the real and being disqualified from dancing with the stars.

I think mama E is tiredddd of Vince's abuse so much that she knows if she speaks out ,all the drama that was hidden would be made public and Tamar would have no choice to accept it. Tamar may be angry but mama E is just trying her last effort to help her daughter. Since being in the public eye with an abuser is frown upon. However this is just one side to the story I am not sure if anyone recalls season 3 episode 3 of Tamar and Vince when she grabbed his shirt and poked him in the face after he clearly made a joke. I mean you can only poke a dog so much times before he bites you. We obviously don't know the whole story of these people but let's pray for them both since they are hurting.

Implying that you’ll get physical with someone if they do something you don’t like is verbal abuse. It has nothing to do with her being loud it’s the things she say and the things she implies. Vince is not allowed to have social media accounts. But Tamar can run around on instagram while taking flirty pictures throughout the day. I do feel Tamar and Vince abuse each other in some kind of way. No one is mentioning the abuse Tamar endured from her own family. Ms Evelyn has some ways to her. Ms Evelyn told Tamar she’ll slap the piss out of her because Tamar was basically getting on her nerves. So it’s okay for a parent to talk to their child like that because of the child smart mouth???But a husband better hold their composure 24/7? I think she telling the truth about this. She so passionate and matter a fact in how she's speaking and sounds generally fed up with what's happened. My mother would do the same on my behalf if I was in denial. Hope Tamar get the help she need, so she won't run into this type of relationship again

I see this as a mother trying to save her child and nothing less. Many families don't speak out about abuse publicly because they are embarrassed. That doesn't mean there hasn't been private conversations or concerns. I believe Evelyn Braxton because she has nothing to gain other than saving her daughter by going public with this story.
