Say what you will about the Rise of Skywalker, but that they managed to include Leia in such large capacity using only deleted scenes and the like from previous movies is genuinely impressive. So considering the skills of whichever editor managed to achieve that, could you imagine how much better the sequels would have been if there was an actual plan? If JJ hadn't had to try and recover his love letter to the OT from Rian, or if Rian had the freedom to explore his ideas in full rather than remove our preconceptions of the previous movies in one episode? Fun fact: The Immolation Scene was inspired by the crucifixion of Jesus. The music is almost an exact copy of the crucifixion scene in _The Passion Of The Christ_ . In this universe, Anakin is the Chosen One who will bring balance to the force. Like when Jesus came, humanity stopped following the will of God. In Anakin’s universe, the Jedi became corrupt and stopped following the will of the Force. Like when humanity annointed Christ as the messiah, the Jedi annointed Anakin as the chosen one. But later on, they saw him as a threat because he was destined to be the most powerful Jedi of them all. In a way, they were both betrayed by their own and condemned to die. When you think about it, The Immolation Scene is Anakin’s crucifixion, the suffering he’d have to endure for the rest of his life in order to bring balance to the Force. It just speaks volumes to the greatness of John Williams. It’s why _Revenge Of The Sith_ is my favorite Star Wars episode.
5:56 is my favorite, fucking hell it makes me cry every time, Obi-Wan literally reaching out to Anakin with the force while he pushes him away, and Obi-Wan's theme (the force theme) is drowned out by agonizing screams.

Imagine thinking the Lightsaber battle in The Last Jedi was better than Anakin & Obiwan's Lightsaber battle from Revenge of the Sith? Honestly I feel like you could show Revenge of the Sith to someone for the first time with absolutely no dialogue, just the score, and everything would still make perfect sense.
3:06, 9:46 I really love how John Williams managed to make the music for Obi Wan & Anakin's lightsaber duel sound both epic and sad at the same time, to really capture the tragedy of why the two are fighting. And if you pay attention during the fight you can see Anakin is the one mostly going on the offense, taking whatever swipes at Obi Wan he can while the mining infrastructure melts around them for example. Meanwhile you can tell Obi Wan really doesn't want to kill Anakin and is desperately hoping he can somehow bring him back to the Light Side, but his lack of understanding of WHY Anakin fell and his failure to see just how hypocritical & authoritarian the Jedi Order had become during the Clone Wars, means he's doomed to fail. Obi Wan's line "I have failed you, Anakin" implying he KNOWS he screwed up somehow with training Anakin, but he doesn't know exactly how. And as we see in the Original Trilogy 19 years later, he hadn't learned his lesson and was repeating a lot of the same mistakes with Luke.

I'm not trying to shit on TLJ, but I honestly don't know how anyone can watch those 2 lightsaber battles back to back & think the lightsaber battle in TLJ is the better of the two.
Anakin vs Obiwan from ROTS isn't just a better lightsaber battle than the one in TLJ, it's the best lightsaber battle in all of Star Wars. And if you really think about it, it really should be. I mean, it's Anakin Skywalker vs Obiwan Kenobi FFS.

3:06, 9:46 I really love how John Williams managed to make the music for Obi Wan & Anakin's lightsaber duel sound both epic and sad at the same time, to really capture the tragedy of why the two are fighting. And if you pay attention during the fight you can see Anakin is the one mostly going on the offense, taking whatever swipes at Obi Wan he can while the mining infrastructure melts around them for example. Meanwhile you can tell Obi Wan really doesn't want to kill Anakin and is desperately hoping he can somehow bring him back to the Light Side, but his lack of understanding of WHY Anakin fell and his failure to see just how hypocritical & authoritarian the Jedi Order had become during the Clone Wars, means he's doomed to fail. Obi Wan's line "I have failed you, Anakin" implying he KNOWS he screwed up somehow with training Anakin, but he doesn't know exactly how. And as we see in the Original Trilogy 19 years later, he hadn't learned his lesson and was repeating a lot of the same mistakes with Luke.
