Finally, I can work on my ms paint masterpiece while at a strip club.
Or watch porn on your computer on your phone...
or neither because pulseway doesn't allow remote desktop access for the free version.

Wait...
You poke fun at Team Viewer for suspecting professional use, yet Pulseway requires you to get a paid version for actual remote desktop? Sure. Makes total sense.
It looks like Pulseway is probably cheaper than the paid version of Teamviewer, so I would like to consider it, but I have to admit I gave up trying to fathom the exact pricing.

Yes please a rooftop tour, and a new studio tour. I just love those. Especially when Linus is just explaining what he sees and includes anecdotes and stuff
Can you do (or someone tel me if you have) a series/video called "How Janky Can We Go?" Like a PC held together by number 8 wire, zip ties, duct tape, Ply wood and everything else under the sun
but linus. you missed the most importantest of questions
can it game?
How to save as PDF on windows in nearly every app: Print > Select Microsoft Print to PDF as the printer.
It might be counter intuitive for some people who think it should be in the "save" option, but it makes sense when you consider a moment what a PDF is.
I'm getting this now. Also, you could have it execute your video editing programs when you guys arrive at work :)
I also like the 2 tons of Rocks you guys have up on that roof. Now all you need is a lawn up there.
Who threw the rocks on the roof ?
That was my first thought then I started to scroll to find you who had the same thought.
Literally all of the functions mentioned here for pulse way are industry standards for RMM. There is nothing special here about pulse way. Pulse way offers only control of 2 systems for free.
In contrast Comodo One is completely free for unlimited systems, allows you to deploy custom SSL and has built in remote AV monitoring.
Zoho Assist offers 5 free unattended remote access systems and unlimited attended installation free remote access. It offers vanity URLs and integrates with their free ticketing system so you can log issues that need to be fixed.
Both offer remote file transfer and Zoho Assist offers text chat while in remote session as well.
Of all the possible RMM solutions pulse way is probably amongst the least interesting.
I like how Pulseway has been installed using TeamViewer (you can see the extra resize button in the app's window chrome) :D
Thank you Pulseway. We use on premise R-HUB remote support servers for all our remote access and remote support needs. We prefer it because it allows us to remotely access computers easily plus works from behind the firewall, hence better security.
So where are those _spicy_ new female co-hosts huh Linus?

No, it's hack traced
Just as much as RTX
Obviously I mean just how much of your life do you want to not have raytracing so just buy it xD
That’s actually very cool. I personally would not want to introduce a closed-source single point off failure to my setup, but this could be very helpful for people who prefer a GUI over a shell with ssh (and don’t have spare bandwidth for VNC).
Been there, done that, bought the t-shirt.
Between pulseway, Microsoft Remote desktop, ssh and ftps I already manage my server(s) completely remotely.
I had to go hunting for a new solution the other month when teamviewer decided to tell all their faithful free users (7+ years in my case) to get bent.
The really nice thing about pulseway is it is not dependent on network configuration. As long as the machine you are trying to monitor has an internet connection you can access it. Where as Microsofts remote desktop for example depends on you having the correct ip (manually or through a dns) and the correct ports forwarded to that machine through its internet connection
Linus can finally control it in his pink lambo
Rest In Peace
Last time I was this early Linus hadn't dropped anything
Not possible linus dropped the big bang you could not have existed before he dropped it
Use this at work and it’s brilliant, especially custom SQL triggers.
Definitely worth it on the servers to monitor network usage, temps, and storage amounts. For the work PC's, it'll be used to make sure updates are done, the PC's are rebooted nightly and remote access.
I’ve never used any of your referral links to this day(not useful to my work) but this software looks absolutely perfect for what I’m doing! I manage a dozen VPS/Dedicated servers and couldn’t be happier that this video came up today! THANK YOU LINUS
You should check my comment, the software is lacking. There is no remote desktop functionality for Linux or Mac. It only fully supports Windows.
Tim Grave Well most of the time there is free software you can get for that for practically any Distro of Linux. This is mostly very useful monitoring software.
There is A LOT of free open source software for server management.
my-netdata.io/ for example let's you monitor everything.
There are free solutions indeed but this product should make things easier and centralized. This software is not free and you still need to use other remote software. It can make screenshots though.

I would consider switching to that as out RMM software if it had a real-time interactive command line. Pre-made scripts are great. I used and make tons of them but its nice to be able to have access to PowerShell/Command Prompt/Terminal actively while the user is logged in and working and not have to disturb them with a remote desktop session.
I’ve been using Pulseway on my own personal computer for years. Very handy. It used to have another name before they changed it to Pulseway.
Teamviewer? The comments here are amazing. People are acting like RDP services (hell, even MSTSC) never existed before this
@@potato_x69 cool
Yet what this lacks compared to classic Windows Remote Desktop or Teamviewer is actually remote controlling the system. PulseWay clearly will never truly have the same client base as those aforementioned solutions because of that.
What? Of course you can remote control the system.
+Fuji Lives well let me know if you find out more, I'm sick and tired of the commercial use message on teamviewer and I don't want to set up a VPN tunnel from all the devices I need to access. I'd need something like teamviwer, but less expensive, or even better, something like windows remote desktop but without the VPN neccessity.
Most IT guys use PDQ Deploy and Inventory for this kinda stuff. They have a cracking support network and auto deploy schedulers. For connecting to the network from elsewhere? Discouraged unless it's via VPN.

Just me, or does this sound a lot like vnc and ssh combined?
The title sounds like SSH... The video describes a monitoring tool. Like most LTT videos, I'm just disappointed at the hyping of nothing.
okay, as an IT managment student, this software get me hyped!
it is a one stop shop for everything, with more included then most windows monitoring, except for maybe the monitoring whizkids who know exactly how to setup the monitoring tool
it is powerfull, since it allows you to literraly send commands and intercations to the selected systems, from where-ever.
it is versatile with it's scripting and full on programming API(MIND BLOWN), meaning that any missing feature's can be made. albeit at a cost
so, yes i'd buy, for a comany, not for myself
teamviewer has all the features u need, and its free, and that commercial use detected error you mentioned only happens if u screwed up the install and actually selected commercial use or both, as your license type
yyyyyyyyyyeah.... i'm sticking with teamviewer
I would love to as well. But apparently they are spying on what I do since they think I'm using it for work and has now blocked my access. And from what I've read it's a royal pain to get them to unblock you, if they even do it.
@@treborrrrr There's Chrome remote desktop.
CovertBrony I might give it a try. I've tried the built in RDP functionality in windows, AnyDesk and VNC so far and all have worse performance (for my application ,"framerate" is the main consideration).
CovertBrony CRD does not offer the amount of remote monitoring that Pulseway does.
@@treborrrrr I've got blocked and it took 2 months to unblock me but after 4 days I got that warning and restriction again... Finding an alternative now
ads are lasting way too long lately, this one ended at 6:41
I HAVE ZERO COMMERCIALS. you need blocking of ads. i use the browser opera with VPN, seldom use the VPN, but works well, just a little slower. my internet connection sucks, so i cant rely on vpn. ADBLOCK PLUS in installed in the extensions. DISCONNECT is also installed, disconnect.me/disconnect/help HTTPS EVERYWHERE is installed.
I also have installed on windows 7: spybot 1.6.2 with TEA TIMER(last version to have it is 1.6.2) must have the tea timer, SUPER Antispyware, WINPATROL, adfender, although i dont know if adfender is still effective the way i have my computer set up. also have, COOKIEWALL in conjuction with PTFB. pushthefreakinbutton. cookiewall notifies you of each new cookie with a popup. the PTFB is trained to click NO everytime. edit each one to simple comparison. that should help you out. the spybot i have is the older version WITH TEA TIMER. this is the secret, tea timer. this is a real time active scanner of each new program that wants to change your settings.
[whoosh]
People not realizing that this is mainly for small commercial environments. The company I work for uses something similar to this but far more in-depth and streamlined for multiple sites computers called Autotask.
Free alternatives: If you can install software on client computer then use UltraVNC, if you cannot install but client could tell you ID (like TeamViewer) then use AnyDesk.
"or just a regular gamer" *shows a member of the human race whom falls into the female category*
Can I control it from another glaxey
Just a bit of lag but sure
i wonder why would anyone ask that but okay
At my IT company, we use a software called ScreenConnect (recently acquired by ConnectWise). I personally have no idea how much we pay for it (probably a lot), but it is by far the best remote software I have ever used.
Paired with LabTech (also owned by ConnectWise), which lets you remotely view each monitored computer + their specs + installed software + usage stats as well as carry out a fairly wide variety of tasks (eg, it gives you a cmd prompt and a file browser without having to actually remote into the computer, to name a few), and it's a pretty solid system.
Albeit, this is definitely not for a home user. Definitely moreso for an entire IT company that can afford the software license + the servers to run the software.
I do have to admit though; you references to people submitting dumb tickets is waaaaay too relatable to me lmao
If you want to monitor your servers look at OMD Open Monitoring Distributiion. Uses a check_MK front end as an option which is very easy to use. I have it running at home and set up an installation monitoring our telecom servers and PBX.
Last time i was this early,
Telltales were still in one piece.
Chrome Remote Desktop.. it's reliable, it's fast, and best part.. it's free.
Yeah, it's like it never existed. But seriously, don't know why that Linus treated "Control your PC from anywhere" as a new thing.
I used RDP. Much easier because it doesn’t require the user to be logged on in order to remote in. All you have to do is forward 3389.
I feel like this is aimed more at small businesses. A lot of what he described seemed possible with GP.
Adam Creed who the fuck opens that port to the internet
Adam Creed i mean yea it works but it's far from secure, a vpn on the other end allows you to access all of your machines and is more secure since it's tunneled with let's say openvpn on /32 subnet so only you can physically exist on that connection
Thank you to the Linus team for solving a problem I have been searching for months.
That's a really nice tool. Since I only have one server the free version is enough for me, and I love it after just a few hours, so thanks for the video, even if it is an ad. Sadly can't replace Teamviewer, as there is no desktop sharing as far as I see, but otherwise it's great.
Can I control it from moon?
Probably yeah.
thanks :-)
:-)
You probibly could, but the ping times would be horrific! (1.3 light-seconds to the moon)
moon is fake
Install linux then use ssh.
Install linux and your pc will be useless
@@THE4rijus My PC has never been so useful + windows update can never interupt my work again.
How about file explorers for every machine from your workstation? One of my gripes with AnyDesk is that swapping files between the host an guest has to be done separately.
It's a bummer that it doesn't have screen sharing. With all those features, this was a must.
Almost more unbelievable than when I succeeded one thing in life
Wow something I'm actually interested in! I'm a system administrator for a umm heh _Minecraft_ network and we have over a dozen machines to look after, this is amazing.
icanhazsus It looks like you can host it on an Enterprise server but seems to be a paid only option. Doesn't seem to be available on the trial.
Everyone keeps mentioning RDP, Windows Remote, Chrome RD, Logmein, and TeamViewer as if all this does is Remote in. WATCH THE ENTIRE VIDEO ! It also allows remote monitoring of a TON of other things and won't interrupt the user while doing so.
The thing about TeamViewer however is that you don't need port forwarding for remote access, meaning you can use it behind extremely limited networks. Does this service allow that?
I promise to comment only after I've seen the video. :) Oh, wait...
I would better install some spyware or rats rather than paying for this app 😂
Thats what I was thinking while watching this
It is free for up to two Devices regardless of Corp or Personal use.
This is basically a RAT, I bet it was even originally designed to be just that..
Hey LMG people-- Long time subscriber first time commenter here. I manage monitoring/automation on several thousand workstations/servers for a living so I write monitoring and auto fixes all day every day. I'm using Connectwise Automate for my RMM but the concepts are mostly the same I'm sure. HMU if you guys have some specific monitoring needs in mind and I can probably help :)
I feel like saying "I was using Pulseway before it was cool", but I will take Linus showcasing there product. So many IT management companies used other solutions only half as good as Pulseway just because Pulseway was new.
Does that mean i can play fortnite on my windows phone?
Nope.
sounds a bit like windows remote...
Sounds like project honolulu coming out next week
But you have to make your own account sperate to Windows.....
Except Windows Remote monitors nothing without remoting in.
Kris Bright Now your just making non sense there are only 2 things RDP (Remote Desktop) RM (Remote management) Remote monitors does not exist
Seems like RDP is underrated. Sure, it won't give you real-time system monitoring, but its the most painless way of remoting into a Windows server from an Apple machine or a smartphone. Our enterprise is around 95% Windows based (clients and servers), with the rest being iMacs (managed from a Mac mini server). I'm looking into Linux as we want to consolidate some of our services split between different platforms, and hosting on a Linux-based server would be the most painless way once it's up and running. For access from an internal network, I found NoMachine to be the best free way of accessing server GUIs with a straight-forward multi-platform interface.
Thanks for this showcase! I hope their API is as good as they claim. I'm probably gonna try it out later.
9 people are first...
Hahahahahahahaha hahahah, oops. :)
Just report them
This actually sounds like a great thing for the company I work for, so I could actually work even though I'm about 80 miles away for university.
Parsec is where it's at. I can play games with little lag from 3K miles away for free. Same for everyday tasks that requires my desktop's computing power.
Lord help me. I thought the title of this video was "Control your Mom from ANYWHERE!" Maybe I should go sleep.
I am using the free 2 license version at home, to manage the primary home systems. And found it a great product.
Just wish I could get a few more licenses for the other home systems.
Would be great to manage all the home pc's and laptops. Like, wife and kids. Making sure the systems are secure, patched and anti virus is up to date.
Bit pricey when trying to manage about 5 home systems that would cost $47 per month
I can see Cisco buying these guys out. It would be a nice expansion to the Meraki toolset that just manages network equipment, ip phones, and cameras.
This software is a must have for a system administrator. As a system administrator I use team viewer which some times it tends to be a pain in the ass.
Hey my dudes, I have a W10 question (I don't run it myself, but occasionally install it for other people): there is that LAN Windows update function - what are the prerequisites to take advantage of this? E.g. do both PCs have to be in a work group, or will it find the other PC just like that, when I run Windows update?
Use anydesk for quick and easy remote access.. or use Autotask or solverwind Nable for advance RMM... I work for MSP and this works great.
"... probably isn't a common use case"
Yet at this moment I am sitting in an airport in Germany watching this video in a floating window over nzb360 downloading TV shows to my plex server.
No demonstration of moving the mouse cursor or fiddling with programs remotely? All I saw was you could get info from the other computers and manage some tasks and stuff. I use TeamViewer to work on my home computer from work. Viewers of my desktop screen at home see the cursor moving and video editing being done, but I'm not there of course.
this might be out of the subject but. why does your building rooftop has those small stones being put there? wont it make the rooftop a lot heavier?
first got Pulseway a few years ago. it made every single one of my systems BSOD
I might look into this later, but at the time I'll stick with VNC or Parsec for remote control.
It looks like this uses SNMP under the hood for gathering the MIB information from the agents via the management process.
Use motion eye that was used for security cameras that you built. I was looking for something they would work with it.
So, this can active the web cams on PC and monitor your staffs while on vacation? Will it be more efficient than using IP cams?
We've got our own server running Pulseway, they really need to expand it's capabilities. They only fully support Windows, the Mac and Linux versions are lacking. No remote desktop, updates or Webroot from the console for Mac and Linux. I contacted them about these issues and got a simple reponse with a few lines and a weblink, no decent info. It's clear they sponsored this video, to be clear it does not have remote desktop for Mac or Linux.
@2:56 At first and for a brief moment I was wondering who the accountant is (and could only think of Linus' wife since she handles the company's finance AFAIK). But then when they showed that clip, I LOL'd.
Hey Linus, have you ever encountered LanSweeper? I’ve been using it just to itemize and scan all my networking devices, computers and wifi clients. Works great for checking on and accessing Windows domain controlled PCs and Linux based devices.
im using a free account on up to 4 pc's, its fantastic for rebooting machines and windows updates to all my pcs, suprised linus that you haven't used it until now tbh
you should go inFrance and test a thing called "Shadow" its a cloud pc with gamer composants and you can acces to it everywhere.
Did I miss the remote part? I mean all that they showed was monitoring stuff but like CRD or Vnc or TW have a remote access I didnt see that on pulseway
I was expecting a 7min long add, and I was not disappointed.
As Potato Potato ... said, why not use Chrome Remote Desktop, Yes it doesn't give all of that kind of information at your finger tips, but for normal users that just want a remote desktop from anywhere. You just need chrome browser - login - not install anything and away we go connecting.
Of course we want the rooftop tour!
I’ve used the free version of Pulseway for years. It’s nice for when you need to do simple things like check for updates, run a command prompt session remotely or shut down a PC remotely without needing to use RDP. The paid versions are very powerful as well but I personally don’t need them with my home setup. I know people are gonna get all pissy because it’s sponsored, but it’s actually a decent product.
Coincidentally, I just used TeamViewer yesterday to troubleshoot a friend's PC; I haven't done that in well over a year. You (and the other person) don't even need to install it; there is actually an option in the installer to 'run it once'. I've used it on and off for years (I hardly ever need it) and am surprised it's still free for personal use. I sound like a shill.
I already do, it's called splashtop streamer. But I sometimes use teamviewer too
if you plan on doing a RMM solution Linus I suggest Connectwise Automate it trumps the living hell out of Pulseway
Yeah a roof tour would be nice. I wanna know if your ACs are water-cooled and overclocked.
Can you move about files remotely. Example: so you can plug a hard drive into A Plex server and move the files into correct folders without moving A monitor and mouse from a different room.
i want to see more of that roof. and show us the server room again.
So it's basically commercial Teamviewer then?
Yes We want your Roof tour...
Yes.. Really...
I’m surprised you guys aren’t using a tool like PRTG to monitor your systems, and at the very least a central log server.
Teamviewer tho gives remote desktop and remote control which arguably is the functionality most people need. Does pulseway give that?
I was actually looking for a new RMM agent for my company, thanks Linus :D
I've been using Pulseway for years to monitor my two home servers and its an amazing service.
Hey hi, I am jus trying to understand how it works and use of it....we have this on our desktop since this Monday & noticed now ,also puzzeld...is this installed by our boss to watch on our productive hour or on system time...please help can it be for the same?? And how it's work??🙏🙏🙏
