Beautiful work and amazing video - thank you! How did you switch off the interior lights in the trunk so you wouldn't drain your battery while working with the trunk open?
Thank you! I didn't switch them off - I think they just don't look illuminated because of my camera lighting. They're LEDs so I wouldn't worry too much about the battery draining. My car started up with no issues after the spoiler install.
@@fixallthethings Ok great! Was it difficult to pop the trim back into place? Do you think the installation could be done without even removing the trim, just by reaching through the grab handle openings?
@@simonpacific_ke8936 I tried going that route at first but ultimately ended up removing the trim because the center clip was nearly impossible to get to. Putting the trim back is pretty easy, so definitely remove it - it will make the job a lot easier.
If you get the accessory spoiler from Acura, I believe that requires drilling since the holes don't line up with the holes on the OEM spoiler. If you get one from Artwork Bodyshop like I did, the bolts are in the same spots as the original holes and you shouldn't need to drill. Double check on their website but I think it's the same for A-spec and Type S. For the base Integra you'd obviously need to drill holes since it doesn't come with a spoiler from the factory. I don't recommend using only double sided tape because the tape could come loose over time and the spoiler could fly off at high speeds.
Hey, how is your fitment? Mine did not sit very well with the front corners of the spoiler raised up so much so that I can jame a little bit of my index finger in the gap. any issues like that on yours?
Mine isn't very bad at all. The passenger side has a small gap of less than 1mm that spans a few inches (not enough to drive me crazy), but other than that it seems to sit pretty well. I'm not sure whether the order in which I tightened my bolts played a factor here like it does for engines - I hand tightened them first, then with a screwdriver I tightened the outer ones and then the inner ones.
Unfortunately, I"m not a mechanic and don't work on other people's cars. I just did it on my own car and made the video to show people how easy this install is to do at home. That said, I found a list online of Acura official accessories for the Integra and their install times - the labor for the Acura carbon fiber spoiler is listed at 1.7 hours. So I'd imagine if you had a dealer or a shop install this for you, it would take roughly the same amount of time, and be probably in the ballpark of $250, give or take. If you take it to an independent shop, feel free to show them my video as a guide.
The painter's tape is to mark the exact placement of the spoiler for a perfect alignment after you've peeled back the corners of the adhesive strips. Masking tape works here too.
@@user-xw1gq5yuwuuwb Two reasons: 1) it wouldn't cover up the center holes that were under the original spoiler, and 2) I personally don't care for the CTR wing on the Integra. The ITS is more street-focused than the CTR and I don't feel the giant wing would lend itself well to keeping that vibe. I went with this one because it's just enough to differentiate it from the A-spec Integra without being over the top.
Now that's an impressive nose whistle! On the real good informative video man. Thanks!
fr. lol
Thanks for this "how to". Waiting on a 2025 to he available on that same color. Great content. Enjoy that Type S.
Awesome video. Thanks, much appreciated !
Appreciate it been looking at this for awhile ,the gloss is sold out as of now

Hello ! I’m looking into getting into getting an oem + spoiler for my Acura integra, do I have to drill holes or can I just use double sided tape ?

Thanks for getting back to me!
How much would you charge me to do this job for me?

painters tape?

spoiler alert!
why not get a oem ctr wing ? That's much better
