For people that want to know more; according to his welfare report, it says that Kohei suffered from a mental illness/disorder (精神障害), which is why he was treated so poorly by the other tenants. It’s getting a little better over there, but there is sadly still a negative stigma around topics relating to mental health.
I know in Japan I think (not everyone) but the majority do not like speaking about mental health there is a stigma with it
I feel like there is a difference between not wanting to talk about something because of a stigma, and being outright rude and nasty. These people are the latter. Useing "stigma" as an excuse to be a horrible human being is not ok
@@keiemer06 oh yes completely agree
So basically what you're saying is that this is more than just a game as it interprets the consequences of stigma through the horror game ultimately acting as a statement that things to to change in Japan when it comes to how mental illnesses are treated?
There was this big massacre in Japan where a former disability clinic employee killed all the disabled people at the center. He even informed authorities before he did it and they just had him under observation for two weeks and deemed him ok. He said he did it for the betterment of Japan. Apparently their culture around the disabled and mentally ill is terrible.
So relatable, always have to first check with my priest too when I'm about to receive a package.

Were the trash bags in the way of the disabled guy’s only available route to his apartment? I’m so angry at fake people lmao
I didn't think about that when I saw Manly play it but I sure as hell hope not! Awful awful people!
i saw a comment saying that they blocked off the 4th floor to keep Koheis ghost trapped in. THats why the other guy on that floor wants the deliveryman talk to the priest- and 4 is often seen as a bad number
@@laSonadora20Feb is the number 4 in Japanese culture considered as bad luck?
@@Magicalwolfgamer Yes, it's considered the death number because "death" and "four" are pronounced the same in Japanese I believe. If not the same, they're similar. It's the same stigma we have around the number 13
Omg, I bever noticed that....!!
Always be polite towards those who deliver your packages. Give them cat food.
Yes, maybe he's hungry :)
That elevator jump scare made me almost shit my pants
same
Thank you for the heads-up. I'll 💩 first.
I predicted that it would happen so I stopped the video and was looking for a comment like yours, thank you lol
Yeah me too dude
Timestamp please u.u
My little brother is a person with cerebral palsy and he loves Japanese culture and studies Japanese and would love to live there someday....but according to him there is still a lot of stigma around disabilities there and a general lack of accessibility
I find the accessibility to generally be better in Japan than in most places in the U.S., but the understanding of disabilities/mental illness is definitely a little behind.
@@victoriaozuna9437the accessibility is only better because the technology is better which conveniences everyone, not just disabled people. It’s not specifically to make disabled people’s lives easier in a lot of situations
Although the story is difficult to follow, this game deals with the atrocious treatment of people with disabilities in Japan. Hopefully the more this issue is talked about, the more progress will be made toward change.
I delivered for FedEx when I was younger and the amount of times a recipient would ask me what was in their package was too damn high
was it around the anthrax era? that was most like;y the reason.
@@azadalamiq idk when that was, I worked for them around 2008 ish, I always assumed it was like if someone receives a gift for a birthday or holiday they ask what it is first before or while they are opening it
That's really strange, I'd think they'd just take it then open it to figure it out. usually I know what I'm getting so... um... hm.
Unfortunately delivery people having things thrown at them happens way more than it should. It shouldn't happen in general but it sadly does.
Sounds like a wise decision to throw something at a stranger who knows where you live. There are many things that can be done to your house involving eggs or waste material that the person would never get caught...
To be honest, I don't get doing that. I mean I get upset sometimes if something arrives late or something is wrong or damaged but I mean... treating someone like crap ain't gonna help in the long run... Usually I blame the shipper for not being careful packing what they are shipping (YES I'M LOOKIN' AT YOU AMAZON!)
You treat the delivery person like crap and I can assure you they will make sure your package ends up way more messed up than usual.
Can confirm
@@FairyBogFather oh no!
The 1st ending is achieved by dropping the package in the letterbox, aside from reading all the letters. Key is in the potted plant in the balcony outside room 403. The 1 in the vid looks more like a bug exploit.
I do love when Gab plays these 'lesser known' horror games. So awesome of her. I am unable to watch just yet but I shall as soon as possible. Keep up the amazing work Gab 🤘
I dare not play the games myself
@@Sh3aillmao 2012 markplier
I think the first dude was drunk so that must've been a factor for him being hostile and throwing the bottle.
Had no idea this game existed until I saw a lot of Japanese RUclipsrs playing. The developer is easily one of the best indie horror game creators in the world.
So the "best" huh? Can't even put proper lighting and make everything so insufferably dark....
@@carlosaponte2349 well that's how realistic it is in a lot of rural areas. Plus the dev's typically go for the "found footage" look such as CCtv. which again in rural areas is pretty bad quality. lotta AAA games make "game-y" lighting for gameplay reasons.
@@azadalamiq I just feel like now everyone is gonna jump on me and try to defend something that is obviously a bad game design choice, I'm sorry but "realistic" or not, I don't think it's fun to make stupidly dark, that's it. That's just a bunch of excuses, even Gab had trouble at first because it was so unnecesarily dark, she tried to adjust but didn't work.
I've seen dark areas in some games that are done well, but this, bruh..... No.
@@carlosaponte2349 you're entitled to dislike a game, it's your right to do so. We're all chill here.
@@Matt-ot3lw Never said I disliked the game, I'm just disagreeing with your comment. I didn't know that meant not liking the game, people chill.
The developers of these games are a real one, bringing light to these issues when it's not being talked enough ❤️❤️

Ohh... They had skipped having a "_04" room number and gone to 5 on the other floors because of the death connotation. ^_^
I was wondering about that thank you 😊
Oh my god, that means they made kohei take the only cursed room, and on the fourth floor no less. They probably switched the number on the door just for him. Assholes.
Gab: Wait, where'd the baby go?!
*Checks inventory*
Idk why that baby was the best part of the game. Lol
t posing demon baby
I choose to believe this is comically large bill, like the huge cardboard checks.
Either that or deliveryman was holding it in their mouth.
So, I've seen a playthrough by someone who reached the other ending, and they did not leave the apartment, but instead found Kohei in the fridge, and then saw the neighbours through the windows. Which is what I think is supposed to happen with this ending? Getting out and seeing them from the outside seems like a bug. Also, the text at the end doesn't make a lot of sense if you haven't found the body beforehand, does it? :D Very strange. One thing that was also suggested in that other playthrough was that the neighbours were so horrible because Japanese people tend to have a very high work ethic and thus look down on people living off the state? So basically the game's supposed to be critical of Japanese society?
Its critical in a gentle way, the most straightforward type of very similar message that I have seen is that one chapter in Tokyo Babylon with that blind guy, like dang that chapter is so direct, the authors must have been quite angry that day
where did you watch it? Which youtuber?
Anyone think gab should play "walk" it's a indie horror, which uses fixed perspectives. I think it's the utter silence that makes it so unnerving
I've seen very little about how life is for people with disabilities in Japan. My favorite visual novel also deals with this subject, though it's the hardest game to ever recommend to anyone ..(originally an 18+ game, and at times you really don't want to be the main character, and looots of text to read...but an incredible read in the end 🥺)
What's the name of the novel? If you don't mind my asking
@@geraldinevasquez3882 Cross Channel. I played it before it had an official English release though and I would only recommend playing it in Japanese or fan translated, because the Steam translation looked horrible.
Silent voice talks about disability too. The protagonist has hearing impairment.
My brother is a delivery guy, I went with him sometimes and one day it was 11PM we had to deliver some food and the adress with Rue du Bas de l'Enfer, which means Bottom of Hell Street, and the person was named Annabelle, crazy story
😯
Was she nice?
@@ghostybees6322 She was!
Mmmm, interesting, I would love to know more stories about his deliveries
Insane that yall deliver at that hour, maybe it's just my town that doesn't do night deliveries
Loving these indie horrors!! Perfect way to spend my lunch the past few days. I was feeling super chill watching this until the elevator scene LMAO 😱 Thank you for the extra context with the document toward the end as well! 😁
I've had a blocked nose all day and the elevator bit made me jump so bad my nose cleared 😅
Everytime Gab says "Tiny Baboo" I just melt with cuteness
4:05 He was drunk.6:50 Wow. Great tip. 9:00 Hikikomori. 25:15 He stole your truck. He's on his way to Atami by now. 37:00 And suddenly the building was redesigned by Shigeru Miyamoto.
This is one of my favorites together with the Convenience Store and Missing Children, the atmosphere just gets to me
Ghost Train is very good too
After doing a bit of research, it seems that those with disabilities, mental or physical, were treated quite terribly in Japan up until the late 90's
It’s still bad. Did you look into the Sagamihara massacre? It’s terrible. All those poor disabled people. And the story never really made the news either.
@@mayabee8925 I'll have to look into that now, thank you for letting me know
OH, yes unfortunately I do remember this appearing in the news five years ago. What a horrid event
This game was such an awesome mix of great scares, tension, atmosphere, ridiculously funny moments, and 'what the fuck is wrong with these people'.... crazy thrilling and kept me on the edge of my seat, the pacing is also pretty good. quite surprising for an indie horror, I loved this and Gab just made this so much more fun!
One can barely see anything, what's fun about that?
@@carlosaponte2349 carlos i did not ask for this turn your brightness up come on now
@@zercdawns2221 Oh I did and it looks even worse, now the screen just looks bright and almost white, game is still dark, just proves my point, come on now.

@@zercdawns2221 "Dark theme" right.
The jump from 44:29 to suddenly baby 44:48. I don't think my heart will recover.
This game is excellent at making two or more possibilities possible, among them by:
1. Making the jumpscare assailant's identity concealed
2. Making the tenants behave strangely and ghostlike.
51:08 - This animation may be meant to depict being strangled by someone.
chilla's art never cease to amaze me with their effort, keep up playing their games for the upcoming time, gab
thank you
44:29 I was THIS close to throwing my coffee in my face trying to cover my eyes 😭💀
Gabs reaction to the guy throwing the bottle at the Delivery Man's face, LOL. She's so sweet, kind and wholesome.
I'll admit that I like the ending where the others die because those people were flat out horrible to that resident, being someone with a mental disability, I can relate to people being horrible to you for no other reason than the fact that you are different.
Thank you so much for showing us this game.
Meh, in America I could see that ending being appropriate because we are at a point in our society that we know better. I don't feel right about it when it is due to a cultural ignorance, it is still a work in progress over there.
Games like this are UNDERrated: they really need more exposure! Imagine what could happen if this game developer had even HALF of Capcom's game development budget!
I think what happened was..that the landlord charged kohei more and then killed him and put him in the fridge to cash in on his disability money. And then kohei's ghost killed everyone in revenge.
I guess the reason why he committed suicide is his gentleness. He didn't want his family to be involved with his hardship because he is considerate of people too much, so he couldn't share his concerns with someone and took it all himself. But I realized that he had only one friend, his dog "Aikichi". When I watched the ending his dog standing in front of his room as if his dog is waiting for him, who will never come back, I was so sad that I cried. How poor Kohei is…
when i tell you my body took a SCREENSHOT at that elevator scene
Same gab.. same. Im always so thankful they bring me my stuff. I would never be rude to them.
Sometimes they wait until i got my package and then drive away ❤.
So nobody can steal it.
Thus far there have been at least two games, "Convenience Store", and, "Night Delivery", based in a Japanese setting that featured night time parcel service. Guess that means that's big over there? Receiving packages deep in the night? Then again, the player's character in Convenience Store did comment that it was odd to be receiving the package that late, so perhaps not...
Amazon'll deliver up until about 22:00 local here. That's 30 minutes after sunset in the summer time and nearly 5 hours after sunset in the winter. But the latest I've actually received a package is probably about 20:30 local. USPS - the standard US Mail Service - UPS, Fedex and DHL never operate that late, at least not in my experience. I believe I've heard Japan has a large number of private parcel services...
I'm living in Tokyo now, and as far as I know, delivery service usually goes from 8am 'till 9pm. Parcels that have no delivery time required are usually being delivered before noon. We can choose delivery time every 2 hours like 14-16, 16-18 ect... but the latest is 9pm. Or maybe you can choose to deliver to nearby convenience store and pick up at anytime.
not from jpn but where i'm from, the only late deliveries that are allowed out are food deliveries :0 regular package deliveries usually are delivered before 6pm at latest here so i was surprised to see that late night package deliveries are a thing.
How Gab distinguish a good person from the bad one.
A person having a cat = a good person
My first theory was there was a recent fire that mostly gutted the apartment building. Since you had packages at night for residents who died in the fire, a personal connection, the building appeared as it was from the ghosts expecting the packages. The second version might've been closer to the real building, with fire escape ladders and impassable parts due to fire damage.
I love Gabby for the way she applies real world morals to the way she plays and thinks about games. Speaks to her character. Lovelove
48:16 can we talk about how she smiled watching a person headless!! THAT WAS CYNICAL! 😂
And said decaffeinated instead of decapitated. are they a coffee? lol
Lmao gab opening inventory to check for the baby is the best thing 33:30
…”Cat food, thanks! I’m going to eat it at my lunch break.”😂😂❤
33:00 damn you, scared me with siren sounds lol
The cat food bit made me laugh way more than it should've lol. Love ya Gab!
Loved this game. THAT bit really got me 😂
Yo the police thing almost scared the shit out of me lol
Omg when she said "take it and be gone" i thought she meant the cat!!! I was like 🥺 "she isnt a good person..."
This reminds me of that girl that went into an elevator to go up to her hotel room after a swim.. her mother went up shortly after and couldnt find her. She was missing for a few hours and everyone was freaking out… then in the girl’s time, which was only a few minutes.. she went to their room but instead met some lady, i forget the details but the lady said this is the wrong room I believe? So she got back on the elevator, and when she exited the elevator she was met with a bunch of panicked adults asking where she went. The footage showed her entering the elevator and not exiting on any floors for the few hours she was missing. Ppl assume she visited another dimension or smth.
You mean the one who's body was found in a water tank??
@@bimpsonlovesturg1819 No, that's Elisa Lam. She was sadly alone in the Cecil when she vanished/died.
I do wonder what girl OP is referring to, though. Sounds like a creepypasta I'd enjoy.
@@thelexicon7294 I don't know the story, but if you enjoy the time concept it comes up in more than a few episodes of the horror podcast The Magnus Archives. Maybe check it out of you're interested!
On the note about delivery men/women, and how they're treated. Give the film "Sorry We Missed You" a shot. It's set in the UK, but gives a decent representation. It's made by some of the same folks who made "I, Daniel Blake". Quite frankly, two brilliant dramas.
Yay! I love ChillasArt games. Thanks for the playthrough Gab! ❤️
Yes!! Love it when Gab plays Chilla's Art games!
I love watching Gab play games when I'm doing homework late at night. I don't know why but it's the best. :)
I don't know if Gab understood this but the trash bags were blocking the only way to his apartment, they were blocking the elevator to that certain floor. So maybe the other brats wouldn't let him into his apartment as a joke.
Kinda makes me think that parcel delivery was a metaphor for trying to connect with people on an interpersonal level.
I thought Japanese buildings didn't have a 4th floor, because of the association with death... straight from 3 to 5. Does this game have a 4th floor because it's usual? Or because it is a scary game with an association with death?
Seeing as how on every other floor the rooms went from 303 to 305 except on the fourth floor, where the disabled man lived in room 404, I'm guessing it was symbolic.
Maybe because is a horro game the devs left him on purpose
There's usually forth floor, and even room#4. But hospitals, some hotels, and I suppose some old apartments don't have it.
I think the first reply has a point tho
These elevator buttons noises were CRUNCHY
Ohhhh so glad you're playing this its soooo good!! Hope your having a great Sunday 😍🥰
Hi Gab, I like this one very much. But the best part here is at 33:00 (walking with the baby) when the music runs with the red and blue lights. That is very funny. Thanks for upload. Thumps up.

The scene of attacking with that elevator is really scary ... I also screamed.
4 is considered bad luck so the rooms are not number with 4s. When counting rooms and looking for the room above 305, 404 is the correct room because they are next to 303 and 403.
