Under the hood, the new E-Class offers two powertrain options: the E350 and the E450. The E350 is powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that pairs with a 23-hp electric motor for a combined output of 255 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. The E450 gets a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six engine that also pairs with a 23-hp electric motor for a total of 375 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque. Both engines are mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission and an all-wheel drive system. The electric motors provide extra boost and smoothness, and they also help reduce fuel consumption and emissions. The new E-Class can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in about six seconds, and it has an estimated top speed of 130 mph. The new E-Class also delivers a sweetly smooth ride, thanks to its adaptive air suspension and its refined chassis. The steering is precise and responsive, and the brakes are strong and confident. The new E-Class also comes with a host of driver-assistance and safety features, such as adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot assist, rear cross-traffic alert, and a 360-degree camera.
