- My Long Travel Off-Road Lexus GX470 build 3.0 update
This is a continuation of the previous two updates on my long travel GX470 build
I've been really happy with the way this build has turned out so far, and I wanted to share some of my mods and why I chose them.
For starters, let's talk about my suspension.
The Front I went with a LSK Long Travel kit paired King 2.5 remote reservoir adjustable shocks. In the rear I went with the Califab 3 link longarm kit paid with King 2.5 triple bypass shocks.
The reason for these specific parts? It all started when I was looking for a way to increase ground clearance to tackle some of the more difficult trails out there without sacrificing ride quality or comfort.

Cleanest for a reason, lmao 🤣. Love these rock sliders with the kick outs 🤣, I've used them so many times, 🤣 😂 😆 not a scratch or dent on them 🤣 😜. I love doing 70 mph off road, I don't drive it much, stays in the garage 😀 😉 😜. Best mall crawler around.
I guess I should have said I used my previous set of rock sliders so many times, JW_Offroad had just installed their new rock sliders on my GX

Fabulous Build!! Apart from vehicle cost itself, May I know how much did everything together costed for this build including labor?
I stopped counting along time ago lol, I also purchased the Lexus GX470 back when it was still just a soccer moms car.
It's so clean I'm not sure any of it has actual been used.
There are definitely RUclips videos on the channel to prove it gets used I promise you that, I just clean it really well after each outing.
Can you post the info on the seats and brackets as well as to where to get the center console? Truck looks amazing!
The seats are Recaro SR7 Low Bolster Driver and Passenger Seats

I have heard that those headlights are pretty useless when dark, looks cool though
The sport headlights work great! They are projector headlights, so I'm not sure where you got your information from.

the green is a wrap. 35s work out perfectly for me so i did not have to regear. Im able go 75mph at 2k rpms on the hwy
What a great build! How is the turning radius with the tundra rack? And you did the job yourself? Been debating doing this job myself or outsourcing.
Its definitely not great LOL. its also not a simple bolt on install. lots of cutting and welding. Had Miyake Motorsports in El Monte CA do the install

The backing plate is the JW_OFFROAD wedding panel, and the table is the jeep table from Amazon
Where did you get the rear license plate/camera holder? Does it slide into a square tube slot that holds the spare tire/hub onto it? What brand is it?
It's a JW_Offroad rear bumper, and the camera mount is built into the tire swing out
Can you tell me how you turned off SRS/Airbag light on gauge cluster after you put aftermarket seats?

what did you use to trick the seat computer once you unplugged the OEM seats?

What’s the yellow thing on the interior of the roof? Is it a DVD player?
Ya alot of GX470s came with DVD players
How did you do the muffler and do you have exhaust smells with it dumping out under the car?
I had to cut the exhaust right after the header. Then I welded in a muffler and an angled down pipe. I mainly had to do this to fit the 3 link upper control arm. I don't get any smells or anything even sitting at red lights
Is this the GX that was sold near Antioch California?
I'm from OC and I sold my GX to a couple in Florida. But that is one of the main reasons I sold my GX, to many other GXs started to look alike. No originality anymore from the good old socorer mom SUV

found them on Ebay, its also a Toyota Tundra steering wheel

She was parked in the Garage and detailed after every trip as I enjoyed my toys and kept them in tip-top shape.

where did you get your center console at?
I had to get it imported from Ukraine and that was pre war so I'm not sure now.
How did you do the raptor lining?
I used the spay on the kit, it's a pretty user friendly
Did the long travel kit come with the spindles?
Yes, that was my main deciding factor for going with the LSK long travel kit

@@dp9948 I want to say 4in or 5in. It was a custom kit, and I never really measured it.

know this man has never used a jerry can in his life. the truck is a show piece.
It's actually been used a lot since we only get like 12 miles per gallon if we're lucky, and when we're on overland trips in the middle of nowhere, we rely on that extra fuel. We do use a fuel transfer pump so we no longer have to remove it from the bumper. It's very convenient.
I also don't understand why people get so upset that after every trip, I bring the truck back home and clean all the suspension components in detail so that they last and detail the truck to keep it looking and functioning. I don't understand how people could invest in a hobby with thousands of dollars into a vehicle and just let it all go to shit. Sorry if it bothers you, I enjoy my toys and want them to last.

whats the rear axle?
Stock Axle. Never had any problems so I never touched it.
Looks like it's never been driven off road. Not a scratch, dent or piece of mud to be found. Nice build though.
it definitely has scratches and dents the wrap just hides it really well.
