Yes. Before even watching, I say yes
🤣🤣🤣🤣‼️👏🏽
I've had mine since 2017.
Zero regrets. I don't think I'd ever feel good about doing 600 mile trips in a vehicle that isn't a GX/LandCruiser/LX/LandCruiser Prado.
Amazing trucks.
When Lexus used to do SUV driving events to compare their vehicles against other manufacturers, I'd go every time! Because the GX was (and still) the only SUV I'd ever think about owning and it was awesome to see just how capable it was out of the box. Glad you're actually +using+ the rig, it's a gem. Thanks for posting!
Film the Colorado trip, when you’re 85 years old and can’t go and do like you used to, you’ll appreciate taking the time to solidify the memory and pass it down generations
i love my 2006 GX470 a year & 1/2 ago @ 218,400 now 229,500
replaced tires, brakes, rotors & pads, radiator, timing belt, water pump, valve seals & speakers. went to passive suspension, no air bags. Did all fluids. $13,777
plus $6,000 in upgrading $20,000
total but set to go to 300,000 easily.
2004 GX owner in Springdale AR. Bought right before covid with 140k on it. Eibach stage 2 adjustable lift, Freedom Offroad upper control arms and Super Pro lower. 240k on it now and been multiple times thru Colorado Rockies, Smoky Mountains, thru the Buffalo River and all over NWA. Same wheels too. Best vehicle I've owned.
That's awesome! I'm sure I'll run into you at a local rigs and coffee at some point!
dig it, i just got mine last Nov, this truck has been awesome
Absolutely worth it!
Love mine too. So many places I can go and enjoy when I get there because of this platform.
Thanks for the 470 content
My shop charged me $495 to do my timing belt service and paid $360 for the kit that is factory lexus parts. Deleted rear air bags and put long travel metal tech coils an dobinson shocks. Eibach front coilovers on the front looks really good 3 inch lift front an rear.
Nice intro!
I love my 2003 GX470. Only downside for me is the gas mileage. Only major mod I have is the bilstein 5100 raised at 2.5 clip up front and washers on the air bag sensors out back.
great car
Just sold my 2003 with 517,000 miles.
Looking to get one very soon. Do you recommend an extended warranty or can you cover an SUV at this age and milage?
Hello. I live in Russia. great car. Lexus is my dream. but unfortunately I can't afford it. Our used car costs about $25,000. it is very expensive. I work in the oil industry and my salary is about $1000 a month. On average, salaries in Russia are about 400 dollars. For us, such a car is a luxury. Thank you for the excellent review of an excellent car.
Love my ‘09 just hit 86k miles!
I had a 2003… awesome vehicle. It was a 2nd car and unfortunately during Covid I found myself unemployed for a minute and sold it to cover bills. Would I buy another one someday… technically I did, last year I bought a 2023 GX460. It’s not quite the same but it’s close enough.
Does bear crap in the woods?
1 year and only 7 thousand miles. Working from home must be nice.
So only real needed repair was front axle.
Correct! And brake rotors were badly warped. Replacing wheel bearings and upgrading calipers was a "while I was in there, might as well" repair 😅
yes worth ??? 1mil miles to gooo
squeak
Too small, employing an engine with a timing belt instead of a more reliable timing chain. NO THANKS
Have you ever driven one? Taken one off road?
Dude, the GX is the best SUV ever made, get over the timing belt, you change it every 100k miles, sheesh.
Amen, mine has 213000 miles and is a little rough around the edges….i wouldn’t hesitate to take it across the country right now.
