- Bolt Action: Unboxing British Airborne & Arnhem Project. Finally I get to begin my British Airborne project and it’s likely to be my biggest project since my American Airborne Battle of Foy project. I have previously dabbled with Operation Market Garden when putting together my American Airborne Son Bridge table, which I recently took a look back at.
I’m looking to put together over a 2000 point army from which smaller armies can be selected. Although I will utilise many previous terrain items I do intend to produce a number of new terrain pieces to, most notably a ‘version’ of the Arnhem bridge that my dining table layout can cope with.
I’ve been reading up on the battle and searched for images that I can use for inspiration and of course watched ‘A Bridge To Far’ perhaps a ‘View To Far’ for my family😂. Finally, I’m ready to go with a heady mixture of excitement and some trepidation at the thought of building and painting over 100 figures😳
A big thanks goes to my wife and children for the collection of Christmas, Birthday and Fathers Day presents that have put this pile of goodies at my disposal. Игры
Amazing projects coming up and can't wait to see how they turn out. I really cant wait for the glider to be finished and I can't wait to see how detailed the soldiers come out when painted. Keep on with the amazing work and I know all of your subscribers including myself enjoy watching your videos.
Thanks so much mate, so happy that you find them interesting👍🏻
Looks a fantastic project Chris, you got some great stuff. Looking forward to seeing how you get on with this. Thanks mate for 😁👍
Thanks mate, really appreciate your support and encouragement.
Great looking project with a nice size of force. Looking forward to seeing it progress. Tempting me too get my box of the plastics out of the stash
Thanks, yes it’s took me a while to clear other projects to get to these and that’s given me time to acquire the various units. I’ve been busy on it and hope to upload the first Vlog update very soon. It’s nice to hear it’s tempting you to raid your stash too🙂. Thanks so much for watching and for taking the time to drop a comment, it’s much appreciated.😉
Really cool really excited to see how you do this
Thanks for watching and your encouragement, it’s much appreciated.
Just finishing up my British Airborne starter army box, and I was really impressed with all you get. I did three squads of 10, NCO with SmG, 2x smg, rifles and n LMG with loader. I figured those would go well with my Commandos and regular army squads I already have.
Yes it’s a good starter set, I really like the look of the figures too. Although, initially I’ve gone with 8 man squads, I’m going for the 2000 point army, so that I can pick out different set ups from them for different battles. Thanks for watching 😉
I have been very impressed with Warlord's metal figures. I have several sets of Americans, Russians and Germans, their various support units, medics, scouts and such.
I’m certainly happy with those I’ve looked at amongst these British Airborne. Thanks for watching.
Discovered your channel via Ralph Astley - looking good so far sir.
Cheers for that, thanks for watching
Hi, following your progress along- great job so far. I came back to this one- what brand (and name of the actual product) is the urban basing scatter you showed on your tablet? Regards, Dan
Thank you, I haven’t total settled on what basing I’m going to use yet. I think the one I showed and might use was fro an EBay seller and was called Miniature Urban rubble.
Thank so much for the feedback👍
