If you think about it, that actually makes her scarier, as it accentuates the fact that she always speaks through Angie, due to her lack of social preference. Her speaking by herself is her desperate side, begging Ethan to stay, due to her loneliness.

I have to say, compared to the other Lord's deaths, that one's pretty fucked up.
Donna was running and hiding for her life while the others actively tried to kill Ethan.
@@duaneclarence8758 Technically speaking...Though she was using the hallucinations and the cadou-controlled dolls to attack Ethan...it's more indirect combat then the other Lords. But she's still trying to kill him.
He wasnt even holding scissors since that was part of the allucinationg, he prob beat her to death
@@lizliz8786 Possible...Ethan's hand was covered in blood afterwards...but then again, we saw no beating marks or signs on Donna's body (before she crystallized) that insinuated that she was beaten to death.

Her body at the end almost looks ripped apart in some way. If not by Ethan's hands, then with another weapon? (A knife?) Or perhaps the scissors weren't part of the hallucination?

@@zudarzahnshow5759 I may not get this right but I believe I can tell you what they ment. Capcom can sometimes have characters with little to no development that had or still have huge potential. We only got to see Donna through bits and pieces, and through those pieces we see that there was potential when making her.

I honestly think she's still alive and will be a dlc boss. I think this because each of the bosses had a mutated form that appears on the map and in the intro story of re8, yet her mutated form (the clothed weaver) never appeared, I believe her human form was just another doll being puppets by Donna. And that her true form is a highly powerful psychic puppeteer, somewhere hiding in the mountains behind her manor.
I like to think that Donna is just like Heisenberg, tired of being just a tool for Miranda. That's why this fight is so short, taunting Ethan with Angie knowing he would stab the doll when he was actually stabbing her was her easy way out.
Now that I think of it, she could have been a very threatening boss fight if she had the motivation and driving force to impress Mother Miranda like how Moreau sought. Imagine all the dolls at full force stalking and haunting Ethan constantly. But, I guess, Donna was just really done and tired and wanted to rest peacefully :((

I feel like she barely gave her her 100% when dealing with Ethan because like you’ve said, she’s done and just wants to go.

@@Pluvillion yes but I have a theory tho. Mother Miranda's diary stated that Donna is a "FAVORABLE HOST" for her daughter Eva, but due to her mental illness, the CADOU split among her dollls. That somehow explains why Donna's power seems so divided and a bit weak but her "HALLUCINATION THINGY" is surely strong. Maybe, if Donna were to gather all her split "CADOU" among her dolls (as evident from every moving doll's head in the Beneviento House aside from Angie), she could have been able to showcase her TRUE FORM.

This is the only sentence she says in the entire game, yet it carries so much weight to it. It was clear that Donna really didn’t want to be a part of all this in the end.

She divided the megamycete in the dolls, so maybe she gained her will and wanted to kill herself without letting momma know the plan. I guess

I guess so. If you check Ethan's family photo when he gets out of her house, you'll see she wrote " Take care of baby Rose" in the back. My guess is that she knew she couldn't survive after they found out Ethan killed Alcina and her daughters so Miranda just basically order her to attack him in a sort of suicidal mission.

This part of the game is easily the creepiest and most thrilling part to play. It’s a shame they sort of tossed it to the side it seems? I wish we got to see more of Donna and Angie and learn more about their identity

well if you read her gardeners diary in a small shack near her house. It will tell you a little bit about her backstory. So apparently, both her parents are dead and she is sufferimg from a mental illness, she also has a huge scar on her face which makes her shy to not show her face and talk with the townspeople. In order to cope up and communicate with others, she uses her favorite doll Angie as a medium to talk. ( think of her as a ventriloquist in a way) however, things changed when she got infected by the cadou parasite and the megamycyte. she also transfers some of the cadou parasites to the dolls in order to control them and move like she is using them as a puppet. She can also induce hallucinations via the spores of infected plants in her house. Hence the reason why ethan hallucinates upon entering her domain. She lures people to her house and experimented on them Even her good hearted gardener who looks after her when she is just a small child. Kinda sad to be honest. She is my favorite boss in the game.

To me, Donna Beneviento had the scariest boss level, but it really wasn’t a battle. It was a type of thriller hide and seek, but Angie was just sitting on the ground not even moving. Capcom really did mess up Donna’s boss “fight”, it should’ve have been longer and more engaging.

But if you analyze it deeper, it seems that Donna didnt put much of a fight and indirectly wanted to be killed by Ethan (via stabbing Angie). I guess she was already tired and wanted to rest.... But ye, the potential of this boss battle could have been better than the other 3 Lords (in my opinion) if Donna was still driven and motivated to be the bad guy
@@nj_039 nah Donna doesn't fight, she just experiments with people that she lures in. Also I think she wanted Ethan to stay cause love maybe? Like she wanted to experience the bond of Ethan and Rose.
Capcom messed this up in general. This title was super tame with poor writing and voice acting for a AAA. Should have known after the leaks last year.

This fight was all in Ethan's hallucination.
I think the real fight is just Ethan chasing Donna holding Angie away with his intention to murder her, while Donna have to escape Ethan and sit down while exhausted 3 times and then Ethan finally choked her to death as in the reality Ethan doesn't hold any scissors.
The only boss fight that made me feel bad to kill the villain.

I'm a big fan of Donna mostly because her character design remind me of those of a mourning dress from the Victorian era.
Me too she is a very interesting character and her voice sounds so gentle even though she's an antagonist lol. I'm a bit disappointed we didn't get to see more of her, her and her doll Angie had such a potential

House Beneviento is definitely the scariest scene however the boss fight is probably the easiest in the game. I was expecting a mutated boss fight like what was mentioned in Mia’s storytelling, as the other three lords all have a mutation form.
Except that’s what makes this boss fight unique since Donna almost blinks in/out of reality and centres around psychological fear instead of something physical.

She literally is, in this point Donna made Angie into a hallucination to hide herself so she could try and get away, Ethan ended up beating Donna and choking her to death.

I feel like Donna is the least evil of the Four Lords, largely because it seems like she’s essentially a child in a grown woman’s body. Moreau is similar, but his diaries indicate that he likes torturing and killing. Donna just wanted friends to play with. Plus it’s not clear how much of Ethan’s hallucinations here are Donna’s direct tricks or his own fears/insecurities manifesting from inside his mind. Even her name, Donna Beneviento, has some hints of goodness. Donna” means “lady,” “Bene” means “good,” and “Viento” means “wind,” so her full name would be Lady Goodwind; “good wind” usually means “good fortune.” I actually feel kind of sorry for Donna...

One of the scariest parts about this for me is the music that starts playing when you’re looking for Angie. It sounds like it’s getting closer but also like it’s all around you, at the same time
Here's a little piece of information about the song that plays while you chase Angie / Donna in the house:
the song that plays when you have to find Angie is the French child song "Promenons-nous dans les bois", a popular song in France that is usually sung when playing hide and seek, or playing tag. The lyrics translate into
"Let's take a walk into the woods,
While the wolf isn't there.
If he was there, he would eat us.
Wolf, are you there?
Can you hear me?"
The mention of a "wolf" is due to the fact one of our names for "playing tag" is "jouer au loup" (litteraly: playing wolf). The "wolf" is the person who is supposed to find and catch the other children (the song is usually sung by the other kids while they're searching a place to hide in, thus the lyrics). It's indeed very fitting here, since this boss fight is basically a hide and seek game. The irony is that Ethan is the one playing the role of the "wolf" here, since he's the one looking for Angie / Donna and chasing her. In other words, Angie / Donna is basically singing it: let's take a walk into the woods, while the wolf isn't there. If the wolf (Ethan) was there, he would eat me".
My grandma used to sing this song to me when I was young, yet I somehow didn't realize it was this song playing in the background during this stage (it's actually hard to catch, unless you really pay attention to it).
I expected more of that boss fight, i wanted to see Donna in action

But what I initially thought is that you do something to the doll first, that hurts Donna in someway to where she appears and actually shows her face while still alive, she then turns into that creepy figure seen on the map. Her transformation would probably involve Angie somehow. Then you end up fighting her in a similar fashion to Salazars fight as she towers above you.
Wouldve been cool if she mutated into a doll-plant hybrid thing after the hide and seek.
I love that Donna is just set to be this gorgeous elegant lady, and everyone likes her, but because she projects through Angie, she's really just this chaotic kid.
Like that super pretty friend you have who looks like a model, but she snorts like crazy when she laughs, and makes some of the funniest bad puns; while also getting a serious crush on nearly everyone she sees.

They reused many stuff from RE4 which made me love the game even more than I do already

First one turned into Devil May Cry
Second one is the Castle Version which would focus on origin of the progenitor virus and Spencer's castle.
Third one is the one with the creepy dolls and silent hill esque but got scrapped Due to exceeding cost of development and limitations of the GameCube.
Fourth one is a zombie version which will return to the franchise's standard formula, not much was known from this one as it got scrapped again soon after the project has begun.
Fifth one is what we got on the official release.
This whole section was cool. Because it has its own feel. This area was intended as purely psychological horror. I appreciate Capcom wanted different feelings for each house. It isn't a boss per se, but I'm not complaining lol.

Donna is pretty good at staying in character as Angie but she slips up right before death.
So according to Miranda note about Beneviento, her power is to control the doll, Angie, which its head infused by a mold-infected brain and she able to create some sort of hallucination like teleportations and others weird stuff. The point is, she is the weakest among 4 lords that serve Miranda. I expect we will get some horror vibes like Annabelle movie and some deadly puzzles/riddles to solve when we enter her domain. And when we are able to "destroy/kill" Angie thus destroy her capability to produce some hallucinogen substain, somewhat it begin to fuse with her and will mutated. Ethan will dragged by Beneviento to enter his nightmare again (like facing the Bakers or Eveline) but in a broken/weakened hallucination world created by Beneviento in last attempt to kill Ethan. In there Ethan must gain his sanity back in order to defeat Beneviento for good. Capcom really drop their balls when creating this segment. It would be fantastic if they can make Beneviento and her doll more scarier.
They did say everyone that’s ever visited never came back alive, but it also stated she’s the most human looking while the others are tall or ugly, heisenberg is a special case

Well you just watched the video. This is all of her appearance in the game aside from the meeting from the preview. This short ass "boss fight" is it, all of it. So there's nothing to predict

for everyone complaining about the newest storyline to the resident evil franchise we must all keep in mind that this is supposed to all be canon and this is years and years of a writing team developing the evolution of fictional scientists experimenting with gene mutations and viruses
this whole build up was definitely one of the scariest moments of my life. from the weird baby thing to random dolls dropping it was scary

Voodoo main weapon of choice is manipulating a person's lifeforce through dolls. Pain inductions, replication of environments that are no where close to the victim, and healing factors.

It’s astonishing how the protagonist always overestimates a doll entity’s power whether it be movies or video games. They’re always very courteous about getting within face stabbing range of a doll that just muttered “cOmE pLaY wItH mE” with a switchblade at hand.

The doll is clearly a human brain infected with the mold bioweapon. All the bioweapons are strains of the Progenitor Virus, which can give telekinesis and other psychic powers.

In the last stab, I did but if you didn't realize you can clearly see something is wrong as Angie should have had barely any weight but it took considerable amount of force for Ethan to lift Angie up and then it felt like a real full sized body falling down the ground which signs us that it was actually Donna whom Ethan stabbed. Donna was the prettiest though if I must admit.
To me Donna is the second hottest behind Bella of course 😩

The boss fight would’ve been intense if they did something similar to Emily wants to play. They should’ve add at least 2-3 dolls with similar mechanics like the ones from EWTP that will follow you around trying to murder Ethan and you have to do certain things to keep them from doing anything as your trying to find Angie.

What’s funny is I died for the first time here and this is actually a super easy boss fight.

I love this game, and as a whole it is vastly superior to 7, but I feel like they kinda dropped the ball with fleshing out the lords as characters compared to how 7 handled the Bakers. The brevity of this entire section and how little we even interact with Donna proves that.

This was my favorite part of the entire game! there were moments in which I got truly spooked! granted, I had my noise cancelling headphones on throughout the entire mission.
I always thought it was adorable when she starts to snicker every time you get closer.

if you notice, the walls have a spill of blood on them, after angie runs away. Symbolizing that, that wasn’t actually angie, it was Donna running away from all the stabs.

Donna beneviento is beautiful and gorgeous before her right eye was ruined and I do feel bad for this character and I wish that she got more screen time
just the thought that ethan was hallucinating, chasing a poor terrified donna throughout the house and beating her over and over. she was probably so scared

I was confused at the end when Ethan stabbed Angie with the scissors right next to her Donna appeared, then I read the journal in the village about her early life and what she became, still this idea of a yellow flowers that causes hallucination made more sense to realize why in this part in the beneviento's house was all kind of a yellow tone..
