No need to delete the cache
If the issue persists. Follow the same steps and uninstall updates to Gmail. That should do it.

My Android system webview is disabled on my Note 8 and I don't even have the option to enable it.
@@VeezyTheGreat That’s because Chrome is still enabled or not disabled in the first place. If you uninstall or disable Chrome, Android automatically enables WebView for you to be able to open link in the in-app browser instead of opening the default browser outside the app.

@@moosevision8113 yeah I wish I had been more patient. I was at work when all this started happening, I tried everything I could think of to resolve it. And since I couldn't access any information about everybody having this problem, I figured it was just me so I factory reset.

Thanks so much for this video. I've been an Android user for 3 years and dispute the fact I love the customization these kind of bugs are what makes me always think of getting back to iOS. I used it for almost 10 years and never had the need to search for tutorials for dealing with it's systems bugs. I really think the compromise of the open plataforma is the need to spend much more time with dealing with these kind of recurrent issues.
I agree . I have a s20 now, I just changed over from iOS last year and thought similar things. Apple supports its phones for at least 5 years so someone with an iPhone 6s can have same iOS as someone with iPhone x, so whatever issues arise many people would have experienced it. My sister has a Huawei that's no longer supported by Android , when I asked her she had no idea what I was talking about. It's like you're on your own with Android. It's the trade off for more freedom like you've alluded to.

I did the same thing. I reset my phone last night I couldn't use anything it was so bad.
This stressed me out last night. I put my Note 20 Ultra in safe mode and still could not get google-related apps to work. By the time I left safe mode, an update to the Webview was out, and my phone was back to normal. But man, what a weird issue it was.
I have that problem right now. Is there anything i should do? If i uninstall webview, i cant update in playstore because its not working

Go to play store. Search google chrome . Update and restart

I had no idea what I was doing. So I slowed your instructions down and followed directions with a few quirks. I had to uninstall a couple different Webview because it said they weren't compatible, but I finally found the right one. Looking good so far, no signs of shutting down. Thank you Jimmy!!! @@Iden_Elihio_1999 There is a separate app called "Android System WebView Update", that's the one you want. Don't install the Beta, Canary or the Dev one.

I didn't have any problems yesterday even before the updated app from the Play Store.
Was this just a Samsung thing? I have the S21 Ultra and didn't experience any of this but on my wife's S21 it was all messed up this morning. Her phone was turning hot too along if it not charging fast enough. I'm not sure what to make of it.
Was any Pixel phones effected by this update? I have the Pixel 4 XL too but it seemed to be fine too.

I bought S21 Ultra last month and all the apps are crashing and the screen is pixelating. Turns out, the 1st unit they gave was deffective. But Im enjoying and Im happy now with my S21 ultra.
