God, I can't tell you how many guitarists that I have played with that could do this while furiously ejaculating 128th notes all over everyone yet couldn't keep or play a simple rhythm. Everyone's a fucking rock star.
its just a technique people usually use to show off. there is like a handful of guitarist who actually use it for composition. Steve vai can sweep his whole stage, but he rarely shows off like that. tender surrender is an awesome composition and he has fast sweeps in it, but they fit the song perfectly.

Thats a myth. Canadians dont say 'aboot'. In 30 years Ive never experienced that and Im observant to the point of annoying. In the deep south of America (Ive lived there too) they say the words slower so it might sound in contrast like a different word, but thats all I can think of. Unless someone is confused with newfies (newfoundland residents) which doesnt count because they confuse all of Canada -_-.

That finger rolling technique really helped though, ive never seen that before and thats one of the biggest issues i have when playing arpegiated runs.
I love how he explains what a metronome is in a video about sweep picking! 😂😂😂 unfortunately this is pretty accurate with young guitar players these days

Yes, sweeping is technique of playing but arpeggios are melodic issues concerning notes being used, mainly using terces of chords.
