I like your intelligent approach to the subject.
Instead of discouraging people like other tutors, you said:
'Start learning it and you'll develop your own way'
And after that you show the way you do it with details slowly and precisely.
    Really appreciate this tutorial!

its just a technique people usually use to show off. there is like a handful of guitarist who actually use it for composition. Steve vai can sweep his whole stage, but he rarely shows off like that. tender surrender is an awesome composition and he has fast sweeps in it, but they fit the song perfectly.

he evidently can play and has a sense of humour ... i personally dont dig his humour ... that is the least relevant thing
dude cAN PLAY ... watch listen learn ... ignore the humour
dude .. the humour annoys ... good job ...gets ppl responding ... i think you should consider developing a more introspective personal persona for private lessons... ill buy /... think on it

Yes, sweeping is technique of playing but arpeggios are melodic issues concerning notes being used, mainly using terces of chords.

This video was mostly helpful and I really like the way you broke down the technique. The only thing missing is a clear explanation of all the notes being played, but I guess you saved that for another video, which I will now try to find.

Thats a myth. Canadians dont say 'aboot'. In 30 years Ive never experienced that and Im observant to the point of annoying.
In the deep south of America (Ive lived there too) they say the words slower so it might sound in contrast like a different word, but thats all I can think of.
Unless someone is confused with newfies (newfoundland residents) which doesnt count because they confuse all of Canada -_-.

as a bassist trying to adapt guitar technique to bass: when i got to the part with the 6 fret wide stretch... I realized I had to find another way or grow a super long pinkey.

That finger rolling technique really helped though, ive never seen that before and thats one of the biggest issues i have when playing arpegiated runs.
