I don't know why it took me so long to make a 'sweep picking' instructional video. Many people have asked for it. So here it is. How to sweep pick!!! Stay tuned for Part 2.
i'm also putting some effort on this, been playing bass on bands since my beginning, now i got my guitar to just study and do my guitar leads and bases for my self, and these picks and tapping techniques r just amazing.
I like your intelligent approach to the subject. Instead of discouraging people like other tutors, you said: 'Start learning it and you'll develop your own way' And after that you show the way you do it with details slowly and precisely. Really appreciate this tutorial! LIKE.
This video is really helpful to be honest :D Thanks for sharing! =) Some other tutorials are like the one of Yngwie Malmsteen, which is shown in the video. "Let's practice it slow".... yeah. Slow is a matter of perspective XD
Mate, you are so awesome. Not only are you extremely talented at the guitar, you come across very personable and you really deliver your lessons with clarity. Keep it up dude
this guy deserves 1mil subscribers Edit: wow it's been 3 years and now he's reaching 2M Edit2: i cant believe how fast time files.. this comment was not 4 years old and he has 2.5M now
+Winston Joel I think his sense of humor is funny as all get out, etc. Seriously, I laugh out loud on some of his, and he takes the time to do all of this, I appreciate his efforts:)
I love the fact that you just have fun with the guitar. Your little motions are amusing. I'll have to admit, it took some time for you to grow on me, but, now I love your style. I started playing in 3rd grade and until i was 19...then I became a rave D.J. for a little over a decade. I know; completely different. But in my defense i was a turntablist. I skratched (supposed to be spelled that way) and beat juggled. I did DMC. Now I'm back to my roots... I got an ESP KH-2 and a Randall amp...keep up the great work!!!
I had given up guitar in favour of bass years ago, and now you have restored my confidence! I shall take up the axe once again and my solos shall blister!
I look at the floor and I see it needs sweeping, while my guitar gently sweeps. The court jester will always be wanted - he tells us what we need to know in an amusing way, without fear or favour. This guy is good, he can play better than anyone I know, cheers from Australia, Stevie.
Thank you so much, for putting some coolness and humor, into something like this, bcause, my friend and I aree starting to give up on everything in life and guitar playing and your humor ,is like a little sunbeam in the middle of a cloudy city, thank you, bless you!
Man, these came out a few years after I started learning. I wish I'd seen them then. I wasted so much time. Very well explained, Steviet from the past.
This is the video that got me to subscribe. I appreciate how thorough your tutorials are, and your editing skills are there too no unnecessary info which is great. You should do videos that cover extreme basics too like go through sets of chords which could be easily looked up, it would be a project. Or maybe even tablature for certain songs with an overlay on the video that displays the tab or go over each note in the tab, it would be tedious and slow going but surely you'd be able to handle it. Those things will get more subscribers for sure and increase the size of your audience.
Thank you for the video. I have been watching your channel for a long time, so I decided to watch an old video how to play the guitar and again decided to improve my playing skills. THANKS TO YOU))) You do it for a reason. They cheered me up 😂, you are a very good guitar player, 👍cool) 🤘🤘🤘
Appreciate your humor u funny guy. I agree what ever and how it works for u, I find that ppl that put others down for "incorrect tecnique" r usually that cant keep up on communication, melodic & harmonic content, rythm originality, arraingements, or just plain story telling on the guitar, kudos bro !!!
God, I can't tell you how many guitarists that I have played with that could do this while furiously ejaculating 128th notes all over everyone yet couldn't keep or play a simple rhythm. Everyone's a fucking rock star.
its just a technique people usually use to show off. there is like a handful of guitarist who actually use it for composition. Steve vai can sweep his whole stage, but he rarely shows off like that. tender surrender is an awesome composition and he has fast sweeps in it, but they fit the song perfectly.
I loved this. I would love to see A LOT MORE instructional vids like this. So fun and so helpful and so fun and also pretty fun. Forgot to mention also pretty fun... :)

Sometimes I have dreams of faster sweeps, ah, good times. Steve came out of the womb with a 26 string, glad to see he's still keeping the sweeping and shred alive
