How to: Doll Skater Dress w. working Zipper - BJD / Barbie Clothes Tutorial

- Hi guys! In today's video we're making this cute skater dress for my bjd ^^ You can make this dress for any type of doll though, the method is the same. I went for a simple and cute look, but you can change up the fabric and decorations to make this project intirely your own :D
To make good doll clothes you need a basic understanding of how real clothes work, so learning basic sewing techniques are really helpfull - I highly recommend Annika Victoria ( / @annikavictoria24 ) I learned how to insert a zipper from her videos, and she has a lot of great diy videos :)
Materials:
Nail art tape & tissue paper
Paper (optional)
Cotton fabric & matching thread
Zipper
Buttons / decoration of your choice

Used to be, way back in the day, Barbie clothes had zippers, hooks, and snaps. Mattel even had accessories featuring these for people who made Barbie clothes.

That's really cool that you can make a doll dress with a zipper. I thought we were restricted to velcro and snaps

JessPeachee À do you know magnets? Snaps are like two magnets on a doll outfit or like a hair cilp you have to snap it open and shut to wear it

JessPeachee The tricky part is finding zippers that small! Panda, snaps are two-part metal fasteners with one "stud" half and one "socket" half. The stud fits into the socket tightly enough to hold something together, and each piece has holes round the edge to sew it to whatever you're making.

This tutorial will be really useful for me making a life-size dress from a bodice and circle skirt too! for the circle skirt, did you use a half circle or a full circle to cut out the skirt before attaching to the bodice, as i noticed your final result did not have any pleats which i want to achieve too.
