- A teenager said he was banned from flying on American Airlines for three years after allegedly "skip lagging" from Florida. Skip Lagging was once a travel "hack" where people would purchase a connecting flight and get off at the connection instead of traveling to the final destination.

I take issue with it being a problem. The ticket was paid for. The airlines sold the ticket to the passenger, so there is no loss.
The direct flight is more expensive so they lose some profit but I agree with you it’s stupid. They paid for the seat regardless of where he gets off. They would do the layover regardless of who gets off.
This is a ridiculous rule.
If someone buys the seat it should not matter how it is used.
@@damdumps3566 What an incredibly stupid comment.
Maybe the airlines ticket prices should reflect what the services cost plus reasonable profit instead of charging whatever they think they can get. They are the ones playing games. Don't be mad when somebody plays your game better than you.
Sorry makes no sense. Something is missing from the report. Where is the loss to the airline? If i purchase any ticket and don't show the airline keeps the money right? No refund. If he purhased the ticket and only used half the flight where is their loss? Huge part of the report is missing. Is the airline somehow prevented from double booking maybe? Be nice to know. I have a friend who lives on a caribean island which is a regular 6 hour stop on a cruise line. If i paid for that cruise and "missed" the exit would they wait? No. Why would they care if i was dead or staying?
They charge a premium for direct flights so there is a loss if profits. But it’s a dumb policy. They paid for the full flight regardless of where they got off.
They’re getting paid for that seat whether he completes the flight or not. They’d be doing that layover whether the kid was on the plane or not.
There is nothing illegal about what the teen did.
Sounds like they were being smart! Why pay way more for a shorter flight?!
It not smart if it against airline rules. The kid got banned and they ended up paying for the direct flight. The policy is wrong but so much is wrong with the airlines of today.
The airline didn't put a minor in that situation, the father did...
Poor show for American Airlines to pull this with a teen. Then again, it's American Airlines.
It’s the father’s fault. He admits they do this all the time. Other airlines have the same policies. Maybe the policy shouldn’t exist. You pay for the full flight regardless of where you get off. Maybe you shouldn’t have to lay a premium for a direct flight in the first place.
The airlines in the United States suck!
So you’re the boy from the video 😂😂😂
Airlines get govt welfare but want to whine about stupid stuff cuz they don’t make a enough money already 🙄
I don't get it but parents seem too be the problem
Stupid airlines, just make the ultimate destination mandatory, and don’t have layovers, be on time, or when someone buys a ticket to one place and doesn’t board make sure you can charge him for the direct flight.
Why is this illegal
It’s not illegal. It’s against airlines rules. They’re out of control.
Why should it matter he isn’t wasting more fuel he’s using less airline fuel
Dont count cards in the TSA line dude
Broke the rule, you pay.
Rule, not law.
@@DarkLink18819 so, pay up.
If the rule is incorporated as part of contracting the service it might as well be law. It has the same enforceability.
It’s not a rule. It said it was a practice that was frowned upon, not prohibited. My problem with this is, while they spent time and resources detaining and interrogating the young man, someone else just got through with contraband 😒
After losing so much to stock market, One best investment decision I ever made afterwards was investing in financial markets. Which has earned me $34,970 profit every 14days lately. Trust me guys it pays a lot.
Be gone scammer.
