It was stupid to not give the actor AND the viewer at least some real glimpse. Clearly, the actor did have a means to make him different but he didn't show it nearly enough.

Kylo Ren could have been "dead" as soon as Ben Solo decided NOT to kill the Jakku villagers because he already had the information he wanted (the location of the map to Skywalker).
Y couldn’t they just have the force ghost of all the past Jedi kill Palpatine with the help of Rey but since the force ghosts where helping Rey doesn’t die but is still severely injured so Ben carries her back (flash forward) he’s by her side the whole time through weeks of her recovery and then she wakes up Rey: Ben (Reylo kiss) and they all live happily ever after and Disney isn’t stupid and Ben is still alive
They become trainers of a new generation of Jedi and get married. At least then at the end when burying the lightsabers of Luke and Leia, she can say her name is Rey Solo. I think that would have had more meaning. You could have even included their child and that would be a new generation to carry on the movies.

World of Worlds. Get better writers. Everything in this movie was ripped off from the OG and other movies. Great potential and only reason is was watchable was because of Adam and Daisy. George Lucas stated SW was the story of Anakin Skywalker not Luke (so not Leia either) and JJ basically squashed that making it about the twins.
Even if Ben was a great character, not all the endings are good. That's the thing I have learned with Star Wars, Anakin, Luke and Kylo. That's one of the greatest things of this saga. All the battles and the story they had, didn't change any destiny in their lives, that's life.
The character deserved better always, because he was manipulated, but he could've stopped himself, but didn't. Ben had a meaningful and wonderful death, finishing what Anakin started and becoming one with the force.
Yes, Ben died and I'll never completely forgive the people who are definitely not the actors for doing that. But Adam just confirmed what I felt about Rely during those blessed last moments of them together. Everything he said here spoke truth.
Did Terrio say Sidious hoped the Force Dyad would come together on the dark side?! This would’ve made more sense. His clone body is dying and decaying, he wants the dyad to come together on the dark side to carry on the Sith legacy under a new Sith Empire. After all the rule of two is a mere imitation of the dyad. It seems they changed it deep into production.

So as it seems to me, I think I’m the only one who’s okay with how it ended. I absolutely loved Ben and it’s so sad to see him go but he made a choice for Rey to live and I think that was pretty cool. I think it’s pretty cool that he even played apart in reys life story and built it up. It’s tragic and I think tragedy always spices up shows and movies. I believe it shows how much he cared for her and how much that he believed that she needed to keep living, in order to keep doing what she’s been doing. Saving people, things and giving new hope to many.
I can't help but see Rey now as a parasite. She took Ben Solo's mother's love, his lightsabre, his family name, and finally his life. And she mourned more for Han, who she knew five minutes, than his son. They not only killed off the best character in the trilogy. They destroyed Rey. Instead of finding her inspiring, I now can't stand her. Thanks, Disney.
So reading the novel has helped with this somewhat. Because yes Rey really is Ben 2.0 for Leia. She states that she’s not going to make the same mistake she made with Ben, as Leia feels her darkness rising she thinks no matter what she’s not going to send Rey away. Leia knows sending Ben away from her was the wrong choice. From then on his mind is filled with lies upon lies upon lies. He didn’t believe his father still believed in him, he didn’t believe his mother still loved him because Palpatine had whispered in his mind that it was all lies. Rey’s parents became nobodies to protect her from her heritage. I bet Leia wishes she could go back and make the same choice for herself and Ben. Rey taught Ben how to give, not take. She didn’t take any of those things. They were given to her. Even the name apparently. (Blurgh) but still. One of the things I loved from the novel were Rey’s first words when she sees Finn. They were very Solo words and made me feel like Ben really did live in her now.
She’s a parasite for the whole Skywalker family, on a meta level. If you see the nine episodes as a whole, Rey is this nobody that suddenly comes and takes the main role just when the story seems perfectly wrapped up with Anakin’s death.
@@rickblaine9670 DLF wanted the SW saga to continue without any of the real Skywalkers, so they kill them all off. But then they allow Luke and Leia to 'adopt' none other than Palpatine's granddaughter as their new heir. I'm disappointed also that they've gone back to the old Jedi belief of no attachments, no husband or wife, no children despite George Lucas showing how completely wrong that ideology was in the prequels. They've killed off their best character because apparently Terrio and Abrams 'shipped' Luke and Leia, so they kill off Leia and Han's son so the brother and sister can be a couple in the afterlife with the villain of the entire saga's descendant as their child. Rey was great in the first two films. By turning her into some weird ideology of virginal perfection they've made her a completely unrelatable individual while the REAL Skywalker is reduced to the role of her metaphorical organ donor. He isn't even allowed to take part in killing the Emperor - no, little miss goddess Rey does it all by her onesie, strange how not even Yoda could do that. This isn't a Star Wars film. It's Abrams and Terrio's fan fiction.

It's really unsatisfactory that ben solo is not more of a factor in that final battle. big bads snoke and the emperor have been mentally abusing him for years they didnt do that much to ray in comparison. Would have enjoyed seeing a show of joint power when they combine on the same side. Also I hate that kylo dosent react when palpertine tells him he's put thoughts in his head I mean he's the most conflicted starwars character ever that should send him potty.
Sorry but Rey in this film is constantly angry and she is always running away from him which is not a good example of a jedi and he tries to connect with her multiple times while staying calm although he is a sith. They may be a dyad in the force but so far 80% of the efforts are one sided and coming from him.
I know right? The anti-reylos say that Kylo makes the relationship toxic, but Rey did way more harm than him. He never outright tried to harm her and the worst he ever did was knock her out, while she straight up tried to kill him at least 5 different times!

Channel for an Art Lover she runs away from him because she didn’t know that she needed him. She didn’t realize that they truly were a dyad in the Force until Ben came to help her fight Palpatine. The kiss signified that they needed each other and they were meant to be. But then Ben died which freaking sucked.😭

I think the whole purpose of the sequels was to remove all of the blood Skywalkers and replace them with Rey, Dameron and Finn. It hasn't worked. Rey is at her best when interacting with Kylo. When she's part of the new trio, she's actually irritating. The fact is, they not only killed off the last of the Skywalkers and Solos, they've killed off the most fascinating and complex character in the new trilogy. And they refuse to accept it. They refused to accept that a poll put Kylo as the most popular character in the films, in fact they kept re setting the results, but they were exactly the same. They tried to destroy his popularity as a character by cutting his screen time, giving him a ridiculous ending and practically shoving Rey at us at the end of the film, and all its done is turned people against her. Unfortunately for them, when their dreary replacements fail to sell merchandise, it'll hit them where it hurts most - in their pockets.
I will give them this much. Ben turning away from bad to impress a girl is pretty much couched in reality. If he wants to be with Rey then he has to kick up his game. Because she won't think twice about walking away (which is what she did in TLJ).
I like that perspective. I only saw them as brother and sister, especially through the force since they are a dyad. If only they fleshed it out about how they could be romantic but I really did not get that vibe about them throughout the trilogy.

Plus incest in Star Wars seems to be okay since the original trilogy happened. So maybe this relationship is to imply that psuedo incest is being normalized by Disney.
In the novels there are comparisons where they are given that sibling feeling as well. It never felt romantic to me in the least. Their respective connections with Han and Leia throughout the trilogy furthered that impression. Plus the Vader-Luke parallels and Rey ending with the Skywalker name. Too familial to be romantic.

I can't help but see Rey now as a parasite. She took Ben Solo's mother's love, his lightsabre, his family name, and finally his life.
And she mourned more for Han, who she knew five minutes, than his son.
They not only killed off the best character in the trilogy. They destroyed Rey.
Instead of finding her inspiring, I now can't stand her. Thanks, Disney.

So reading the novel has helped with this somewhat. Because yes Rey really is Ben 2.0 for Leia. She states that she’s not going to make the same mistake she made with Ben, as Leia feels her darkness rising she thinks no matter what she’s not going to send Rey away. Leia knows sending Ben away from her was the wrong choice. From then on his mind is filled with lies upon lies upon lies. He didn’t believe his father still believed in him, he didn’t believe his mother still loved him because Palpatine had whispered in his mind that it was all lies. Rey’s parents became nobodies to protect her from her heritage. I bet Leia wishes she could go back and make the same choice for herself and Ben. Rey taught Ben how to give, not take. She didn’t take any of those things. They were given to her. Even the name apparently. (Blurgh) but still. One of the things I loved from the novel were Rey’s first words when she sees Finn. They were very Solo words and made me feel like Ben really did live in her now.
She’s a parasite for the whole Skywalker family, on a meta level. If you see the nine episodes as a whole, Rey is this nobody that suddenly comes and takes the main role just when the story seems perfectly wrapped up with Anakin’s death.
@@rickblaine9670 DLF wanted the SW saga to continue without any of the real Skywalkers, so they kill them all off. But then they allow Luke and Leia to 'adopt' none other than Palpatine's granddaughter as their new heir.
I'm disappointed also that they've gone back to the old Jedi belief of no attachments, no husband or wife, no children despite George Lucas showing how completely wrong that ideology was in the prequels.
They've killed off their best character because apparently Terrio and Abrams 'shipped' Luke and Leia, so they kill off Leia and Han's son so the brother and sister can be a couple in the afterlife with the villain of the entire saga's descendant as their child. Rey was great in the first two films. By turning her into some weird ideology of virginal perfection they've made her a completely unrelatable individual while the REAL Skywalker is reduced to the role of her metaphorical organ donor. He isn't even allowed to take part in killing the Emperor - no, little miss goddess Rey does it all by her onesie, strange how not even Yoda could do that.
This isn't a Star Wars film. It's Abrams and Terrio's fan fiction.

It's really unsatisfactory that ben solo is not more of a factor in that final battle. big bads snoke and the emperor have been mentally abusing him for years they didnt do that much to ray in comparison. Would have enjoyed seeing a show of joint power when they combine on the same side. Also I hate that kylo dosent react when palpertine tells him he's put thoughts in his head I mean he's the most conflicted starwars character ever that should send him potty.

Sorry but Rey in this film is constantly angry and she is always running away from him which is not a good example of a jedi and he tries to connect with her multiple times while staying calm although he is a sith. They may be a dyad in the force but so far 80% of the efforts are one sided and coming from him.
I know right? The anti-reylos say that Kylo makes the relationship toxic, but Rey did way more harm than him. He never outright tried to harm her and the worst he ever did was knock her out, while she straight up tried to kill him at least 5 different times!

She outright lost it with anger there cas a jedi should not do that, I lost quite a lot of respect for the character (not the actor because I adore Daisy) but some of the jedi force ghosts should have focused on the Ben who was trying to redeem himself.
Channel for an Art Lover she runs away from him because she didn’t know that she needed him. She didn’t realize that they truly were a dyad in the Force until Ben came to help her fight Palpatine. The kiss signified that they needed each other and they were meant to be. But then Ben died which freaking sucked.😭

How DARE y'all take away my baby boy!!! Redemption by death is STUPID. Having Ben fall into a pit and not have him included in the boss fight was a TERRIBLE mistake. It would have blown me away to see Rey and Ben cross sabers and turn that force lightning back to Sidious. Together. As one. I wished they had handled his redemption like Zuko from AtLA. He could have turned back to the light at the end of TLJ OR have them introduce grey jedi, and have him work hard to be trusted and gain respect. I just wish this trilogy was planned out...

I think the whole purpose of the sequels was to remove all of the blood Skywalkers and replace them with Rey, Dameron and Finn.
It hasn't worked. Rey is at her best when interacting with Kylo. When she's part of the new trio, she's actually irritating. The fact is, they not only killed off the last of the Skywalkers and Solos, they've killed off the most fascinating and complex character in the new trilogy. And they refuse to accept it. They refused to accept that a poll put Kylo as the most popular character in the films, in fact they kept re setting the results, but they were exactly the same. They tried to destroy his popularity as a character by cutting his screen time, giving him a ridiculous ending and practically shoving Rey at us at the end of the film, and all its done is turned people against her.
Unfortunately for them, when their dreary replacements fail to sell merchandise, it'll hit them where it hurts most - in their pockets.

I will give them this much. Ben turning away from bad to impress a girl is pretty much couched in reality. If he wants to be with Rey then he has to kick up his game. Because she won't think twice about walking away (which is what she did in TLJ).

I like that perspective. I only saw them as brother and sister, especially through the force since they are a dyad. If only they fleshed it out about how they could be romantic but I really did not get that vibe about them throughout the trilogy.

Riri19911 I don’t blame them because they sure made that romantically clear the entire time that I was just saying that I did not see them as that. Plus incest in Star Wars seems to be okay since the original trilogy happened. So maybe this relationship is to imply that psuedo incest is being normalized by Disney.
In the novels there are comparisons where they are given that sibling feeling as well. It never felt romantic to me in the least. Their respective connections with Han and Leia throughout the trilogy furthered that impression. Plus the Vader-Luke parallels and Rey ending with the Skywalker name. Too familial to be romantic.
