In the first book I was team Dorian, then the second book I was strongly team Chaol, and now after the third book I'm team Rowan. ughhhh

TBH I loved them
for real!!! I was loving the book so much and then that chapter totally slowed my pace down,because I wasn't feeling it at all. It took forever to get through, but by the end it was great. I can't wait to see how they fit in the war and how they will interact with Aelin.

Does no one else ship Rowan and Aelin together, or is it just me? I will go down with that ship. They would be really good together because Rowan is the only one that understands and accept Aelin for who she really is. As for Dorrian and Chaol, from the start of the book I've never really see Aelin ending up with either of them. I did used to ship Dorrian with Aelin, but I think that was because of their friendship, with them recommending each other books and with the dogs and all that. I really like them together, but not in a romantic way. Chaol, I'm not really sure about him. He's a nice guy but he's having trouble of accepting Aelin. He loves Celaena, but he doesn't love Aelin and Aelin is who she really is. #ROWALENA

Like, I enjoyed her with Dorian in book one, I thought she and Chaol were cute in book two, and now that I finished book three I like her relationship with Rowan. I think I'd be okay no matter who she ends up with, as long as everyone is happy. I just want my babies to be happy

I have literally had a different ship EVERY SINGLE BOOK. Like I am COMPLETELY confident in one person and then BAM! Right now I ship Rowan and Celeana so hard. They are literally perfect. But ugh that's how I felt about Chaol. Compared to Rowan though, both Chaol and Dorian seem like useless to me. I even shipped Luca and Aelin for like one page and same with Aedion. I can't wait for the fourth book to see what happens, I'm secretly praying that Sam isn't actually dead and that he somehow meets with Celaena. I would love if all the guys just held an epic battle for her love. A message to all the Chaol haters out there:
-If it wasn't for Chaol, Celaena never would've met Rowan.
-She never would've truly moved on. (Sam, Nehemia, etc.)
-He protects Dorian no matter what, even though they end up losing their friendship.
-He's willing to die for Aelin & Aedion to meet.
-He's adorable and you should totally stop hating on him. :)
Oh my GOD that scene where everyone said "GET UP"- THAT was the trigger, i couldn't hold my tears back anymore, especially how Sam (was too shocked to see him make an appearence that i just burst into tears) first appeared and then everyone followed, the tears just kept flowing more and more and MORE T-T. The scene still gives me goosebumps when i reread it, its the moment that splits the series between Celaena being Celaena, and then being Aelin.
I was on Chaol's side for a LONG time, but honestly I think at this point I think that either Celaena's gonna find someone completely new and pair up with them OR I'm kinda hoping she'll realize that she's bad-ass on her own and so she won't end up with anyone but like Rowan as her BFF.
Also this review was extremely entertaining

I'm totally team Rowan. I want them to be together he's my favorite character other than Celaena but I know its a pipe dream because Rowan already had a mate or whatever but a girl can still hope! I used to be team Chaol but after he said he couldn't accept a part of her I'm no longer rooting for him. Rowan is bae but I wouldn't be too heart broken if she got with Dorian.

Thr Rowan/Celaena friendship was a favorite of mine. I wholeheartedly agree Celaena and Dorian will be together. This is the team that will take down ALL the enemies:Celaena (badass leader), Rowan, Aedion, maybe Ansel (BFF BAMF warriors), and Dorian (kickass boyfriend who weilds magic). Also lets not forget Fleetfoot the wonder dog! Choal can suck it for all I care.

thebookbasement I'm sorry, but that ship has sunk. here's some proof: "But - no. she wouldn't think about Chaol. Not when she was feeling so balanced, clear headed, and GOOD" (394) (the "good" was in italics but becasue i can't use that i put it in caps). that show's how Chaol doesn't make her happy anymore, which proves she lost her feelings for him. then on the next page, she starts to tlak about how Chaol was good for when she was recovering from the loss of Sam and the mines, but how she's changed and they're not compatible. also, the scene that was covered in the video as anti-chaol proof is on 396, if you care to look it up.
My favorite parts has to be Abraxos smelling the wild flowers, Celaena freeing Rowan from the blood oath, When Dorian was talking to Chaol about acceptance of his magic. Love Love this books.

But the way he was talking about how "he doesn't know who she is anymore" and "if he could take away her magic he would" i really didnt like that and i was so excited when dorian called him out for it... definitely one of my favorite parts in the book. because we Chaolaena shippers, see how human and flawed a character Chaol is, and we appreciate him more because of it. Chaol was taught his entire life to hate and fear magic and all of a sudden the two people he loves the most are magic? That's a lot to take in, he's not just going to be okay with it right away, that being said he never ever stopped loving Celaena and Dorian, he was always there for them and even though people say that Chaol couldn't decide and pick Celaena's side the whole time, the reality is he did pick Celaena's side from the very beginning. As soon as he started working with Aedion to undermine the King, it was very apparent that Chaol would always choose Celaena (just like Celaena will always choose Chaol I might add *ahem ahem* end of COM). Dorian had no idea that Chaol was working with Aedion. Chaol was actually doing something to help Celaena and overthrow the King, actively putting himself in danger, but Dorian was exploring his magic and being lovey dovey with Sorscha (not that there is anything wrong with that, he owes himself to know what he can do but I'm just saying Chaol isn't as bad a guy as everyone likes to think).

I've always hoped she'd end up with Dorian! Their dynamic seems to be more on equal footing compared to her relationship with Chaol. Dorian and Celaena not only challenge each other to think for themselves and question everything they've ever known, they have the kind of friendship that helps strengthen each other. They understand each other: they understand what it's like to be different, to lose people they love because of the king, and the struggles they face every day knowing their identities cannot be hidden forever.
Chaol, on the other hand, seems to look down on her too much, and is constantly surprised by her strength as if it is unnatural that she's not a woman doing 'lady-like' things such as looking pretty for the court and frolicking about in dresses and the gardens.
He also has this tendency to expect her to change, and not be a 'monster'. And even though he knows that she has lost her family, her home and her people, he still expects her to not lead a rebellion to free the rest of her people, or fight back against HIS king. He also doesn't like that she saves him, and would rather die than bruise his manly ego.

Okay, I was firmly on the Chaolaena bus for the first two books but Chaol just pissed me off so much in this book that I've decided I don't ship them anymore. Definitely don't ship Rowan x Celaena as anything other than platonic best buds (although don't get me wrong, I LOVE ROWAN). Still unsure about Celorian though..... So at the moment I would be perfectly happy if she was just a kick-ass queen without a love interest, even though that probably won't happen

OMG yes! When he said "Do you want me to fight for you?" and she replied "I want you to leave me alone" I was sooo annoyed! Part of me thinks she chose Chaol because she felt bad for him... Dorian always got what he wanted, so I think she wanted to give the underdog a chance.

That made me laugh so much. I think my favorite part starts on page 365 (I love it so much I know the page) It's when Rowan sees Celaena's back and finds out that she was in Endovier and he is so angry and she doesn't understand why he left. I love their friendship so much. I also did not like Sorscha for some reason. I don't know so when she died I was super happy.

Kate Crowley like almost every character developed and grew so well this is probably my all time favorite series. But I don't know there was something about Manson that was just so magnetic. I was so drawn to her and her anger and blindness but also love and ugh everything
when you talked about Manon and Aelin having to fight each other. I just love it.

I teared up a lot at the "Get up" chant...the fact that it mirrored Throne of Glass with Chaol. She feels so low and like she's alone, but it's the ones she loves that help her rise back up again. I really liked that :)

I absolutely love Rowan, and I would love to see a relationship between him and Celaena, but I feel for Chaol. However, for the majority of the book, I didn't want Chaol and Celaena together because he just couldn't love Celaena wholly, like Dorian said. I love Dorian and Celaena's relationship and I believe they could create an amazing kingdom, and they would be an amazing couple. But I have stronger feelings towards their platonic relationship than their romantic relationship. But, we have three more books to go, and I am so excited to see what is coming. (:

I literally don't understand how anyone could still ship Chaol and Celaena. It was touched on so strongly in this that Chaol couldn't accept her for who she was and that was why they couldn't be together. IT BOTHERS ME SO MUCH THAT PEOPLE STILL SEE THEM AS AN OPTION LIKE CELAENA DESERVES SO MUCH BETTER ALFJALDNALXBBE

Honestly, i used to be major chaolena trash but now i'm rather good with aelin and rowan together. and don't get me wrong i love dorian like so much more than i did before, but i think him and aelin are better off friends. so i guess that means i just have to have dorian all for myselfffffff :)))))))))) 😂

I AM SO TEAM ROWAN!!! ROWAN AND CELAENA FOREVER!!! I loved Heir of Fire and I think my favortie scene was when Celaena tricked Maeve into releasing Rowan from her service!! I loved it!!
I love Aedion, Manon, and Rowan!!! I absolutely love Aelin and Rowan's best friends / hate you relationship! I love how she calls them his cadre and I love how the cook goes like 'your words curdle milk'

I felt like such a psychopath when I manically laughed about Sorshas death. I was SOO happy I was just anticipating her death and was mentally screaming for the guard to bring down the sword.

I started liking Manon in Empire of storms. First of all: I didn't even read the manon parts during Heir of fire (they were boring) second of all: I read some parts of manon during Queen of shadows. It wasn't til' EoS that I started reading her parts.
Spongebob Squarepants I did the same thing, I don't really like the whole witch aspect, I was like leave I don't like you guys. But now I feel bad about not reading it. But I don't want to go back cause there boring.

This author is so freaking good that she managed to make ME feel special for knowing Aelin when everyone was talking about how mysterious and secret she was to the general public
It took me forever to read this I was through is little of a reading slump but I was able to push through and damn did I love this book it was amazing I honestly loved whenever Dorian was there I just love his magical Elsa ice and wind powers I like how Celaena's powers are the opposite ash and fire I liked seeing Celaena grow as a person there was one line "She was the heir of ash and fire and she would bow to no one." Just... it's great and her backstory just the tears they were EVERYWHERE! I died when Celaena heard the voices saying "Get up." Over and over just 💔 basically I loved Rowan by the end of the book and I loved that Celaena freed him from his oath to her aunt they're like Christine said Parabatai but in Fae version! ❤️ Also I am team Dorian I never really stopped being team Dorian even when Celaena was with Chaol I was just like "There's still hope." when Sorscha (is that how you spell it?) appeared I was happy for Dorian but I doubted she'd stay with Dorian in the end
I LOVED the chapters with Manon !! They were soooo interesting and epic!!
