However once cultural practices that contradict Islam(like the "relaxed version" mentioned in the documentary) are added to Islam, it becomes a problem.

This is actually very interesting. I'm a Bosnian who lived in Bosnia most of my life and it's the first time I ever see anything of this sort, that is, from the Sufi perspective and how they do what they do. I'm a Sunni Muslim, and as far as I'm aware, most of us are. I'm glad I got to see this part of my country I never saw before.
When I worked as tourist guide for city of Sarajevo ,some 44 years ago , at the classes about history of the city we where briefly informed about Sufis / dervishes and some Sufi places / tekije in the city , but we never actually visited or attended sufi gathering and Zikr .I only felt that this places are very secret mystic places , I never dreamt that one day in future will be open for my own heart .I was not brought up in any religion . I heard one time from my maternal grandmother that her father was Sufi sheikh in period before First World War .She mentioned “ his dervishes would visit him and stay all night in the tekke , she was very small but she remembered sound of HU resonating trough the night “, she was only 6 years old when her Sheikh father passed away , even if I asked she could not share anything more about this “ strange “ sound of Hu and this spiritual practices . Some decades later , trough internet i was guided to some website about Sufis here in this country where I’m now . I saw it and kept visiting even I could not understand entire text in English, was not interested in religion or spiritual path except as only interesting information , my family is mix family and I did not have any plans to become Sufi / dervish .But something was pulling me to keep visiting that website . Than some chain of events brought me to place of Sufi gathering and my first taste of beauty of the zikrullah …this was 20 years ago . Damir is right in his statement “ who ever taste zikrullah is always longing for it “ .( as the words of one Ilahi says “who ever taste love , will never be the same “). I feel so blessed for being invited to the Sufi path . If you decided to take a deeper look in the history of Sarajevo , you will be surprised by the number of Sufi places of gatherings - tekije in Sarajevo throughout past centuries .You will discover very rich treasure of Sufi path in Sarajevo and Bosnia .Inshallah
@@fatimakratohvil6904 indeed it was the sufi sheikhs and dervishs who brought Islam to the Bosnian people. Many people in our country forget that the first thing the Turks build wasn’t a mosque but it was a tekija where the wise and educated could meet. They are the spirit of Islam and they’re the reason it held up so long.

This would be obvious to anyone who knows the genetic migrations across the region. The Balkans is a very mixed place. Your idea of "purity" shows very naive understanding of the Balkans.

The title of this series should have been "Islam in Europe", instead of 'Allah in Europe' . Hi @Rajotavo, by snake he meant about temptations in this world like wealth, high titles, desire for physical relationship, etc which, if we don't have self control and let ourselves go loose on these things in an extreme and unbridled way, could lead to grave consequences on our and other's wellbeing. For Bosnia, i have to correct You ... It was not a civil war like You said, it was agression from Croatia and Serbia ... Bosnia and Herzegovina already had independency...
Oh realy? For Croatia: In May 2013, Jadranko Prlic and others were found guilty for taking part in the joint criminal enterprise with Croatian President Franjo Tuđman for crimes committed in the Croatia Republic of Herzeg-Bosnia against Muslims. However, on 19 July 2016, the Appeals Chamber concluded that the "Trial Chamber made no explicit findings concerning [Tuđman's] participation in the joint criminal enterprise and did not find [him] guilty of any crimes."In November 2017, the ICTY reaffirmed the first-instance verdict that Tudjman, as well as some other senior Croatian officials, had participated in a joint criminal enterprise with the defendants with the aim of persecuting Bosniaks. 33:31 100% on point! 👌 The best part of this documentary: "There is no European Islam. There is Islam in Europe" 😃
@Yahya Zolfiqar I think we're on the same page for the most of it. Of course it is ok to keep your culture as long as it doesn't go against Quran and Sunnah.
However once cultural practices that contradict Islam(like the "relaxed version" mentioned in the documentary) are added to Islam, it becomes a problem.
Oh yes, there is an European Islam and Muslim European : in Balkan. Don't try to make you closer to us than you are. You are not European, So just accept what you are. And finaly do even not come in Balkan, We don't need you.
@Rezo Kakar What do you mean ?
@mushfique hassan Half muslim, half christian, but european (balkan). Just very unhappy what's occuring in europa those last years about non european islam. We (european) are not better than the other. Very not. Just look what those stupids west-european done those last century (u.k; france; portugal; spain; belgium; u.s.....) through the world.
I m not with them. Not at all. I m just very unhappy. I don't know you. You are certainly a good and cool guy. And maybe , one day you'll come in balkan and apreciate us. And sorry if i offended you. I wish you all the best. And may Allah, God be with you, with us.
@@abubakr380 I respectfully disagree .Islam in Europe is positioned for a more progressive form of Islam for the 21st century. We are here to transform Islam . Dobro nam došao brate
I can feel the emotion of the Lady when she said this is European Jerusalem.

Bosnian people werent muslim until mid XIV century, a lot of them converted to save their families amd stuff like that
@Lily Valac Turks are asiatic people, they are not white, except for 3-4 milion people of Slavic Serbian origin called "JANICARI".Serbs are white european people light skin ,light eyes .Serbs are autochthonous people of Balkan peninsula!
@@dxsirmium8523Most Serbs have darker eyes, actually. Only a small percentage of Serbs have blue eyes. (Bosniaks and Croats have a higher percentage of blue eyes)
But, who really cares about this detail?
