That was great to watch. Yours ands others have inspired my to take up bicycling. I'm lovin it, even the pain of reaching a semblance of fitness. Is like a fungus, it grows on you.
God, looks like a ton of fun, wonderful scenery for sure, and to be with friends, geez what else can one want! Left California, now live in Spain. I guess I can't complain as the road biking here is incredible! Excellent video guys! :-) :-) :-)
Thanks Guys for the nostalgic visit to my ‘home turf’ - I lived in Seattle for thirty years and have a best friend who lives in Bend... So I traveled back n forth there many times... and camped in those mountains and soaked in those hot springs... Now I live on the edge of a small island off Cape Cod and it was so lovely seeing the Doug Firs and the rain and the Cascade Range again. Looks like a wonderful trip. Gracias y Mucho gusto! Roll on!

Great film. Loved the edits. Was there a 4th person filming the whole time? It must have taken a long time to set up the shots. Well done. Really got the feeling of being along for the trip with you!
The number of different types of shots and angles are incredible. Definitely one of the best cycling videos I've ever seen. I also ride a Willard 4 so it was cool to see another one.
Pretty cool, ive taken the amtrak a couple times its way better than flying, looks really nice out on the west coast. If someone moved out west, cold turkey, where would you recommend? I like biking, hockey, baseball,
Met a same kind of dudes from Germany who were doing same stuffs all over the srilanka and other countries too. Wish I had enough resources to this kinda stuffs.
You took the train to Portland?? You could have rode Seattle to Packwood, over to the Columbia Gorge then to Portland. You'd have got strong tailwinds in the Gorge.
Outside of mountain bike trails and rail trails, It's becoming harder and harder to find enjoyable rustic routes away from city traffic and congestion to cycle on. Cars are everywhere, and on my daily commute to work I fear for my life, always.
If you love biking trails check out the Rails To Trails Conservancy. They support trails all over the US. They are also trying to build a cross country trail network. That would be an interesting cross country ride.
Electric bicycles make riding more doable for older adults. I have seen many older adults get back into riding after purchasing an ebike. Maybe they don't hit the back trails but they are out on their bikes enjoying some healthy exercise.
Love this video! Planning a trip like this now! Any chance you will bring a loge lodge to coloRADo? I know someone who could help you scout / build / run one!
Thanks Jonathan! We're currently working on new LOGE Camps locations in Breckenridge and Estes Park, Colorado! Our goal is to have them open this Summer! Cheers
The overpriced "loge" motel in Bend does little things like that to be able to charge more than they would get if they were just nirmal. It is cool but...
Hi Charlie! We rode the Oregon Cascading Rivers Scenic Bikeway (traveloregon.com/things-to-do/outdoor-recreation/bicycling/road-biking/cascading-rivers-scenic-bikeway/), which follows the Clackamas River to Detroit Lake, then took Highway 20 into Bend. We found a few gravel diversions, but pretty much stayed on the Scenic Bikeway. It was absolutely beautiful and made us want to do the other Scenic Bikeways in Oregon! Cheers!
The only thing I don't like about videos like this is they are a bit misleading, either you had a car with you or another biker to help you do your filming? Where is your map of telling us the path you took? It's a beautifully done production and it does inspire people like me to get out there and do stuff like this but after getting out and doing that there is soooooo much more that is needed to do a trip like this, and I just would like it if you would go into those details.
