    When I started reading some of Xi's speeches, they really surprised me. As an engineer, I had always taken pride in the fact he was also an engineer. But reading his speeches, I realized that he was a much deeper thinker than most engineers. He thinks about the meaning of things and the consequences of the policies and the intentions of policies. So I feel that he is actually more than an engineer. He truly is a great leader. I think China is lucky that the political system in China has created the right leader at the right moment in history.

      Yes
      A country's leader is very important to the future of the country. So china is real lucky yo have xi as their leader. It is during his term when china's progress grow by leaps and bounds.
      If the leader is very corrupt and only think of acquiring wealth during his term( democratic countries), there certainly wont be ANY PROGRESS in that country

      President Xi didn't just pop out of the blue nor did he "elbowed" his way into the top job. What many in the West just don't get it is that China's leadership is chosen and then, goes through an electoral system after the candidate has gone through many trials in actual working life that proves their worth and mettle and then, elected by various standing committees all along the way going up. No fancy speeches nor haranguing rhetorics nor amount of money or lies or acting got people like Deng Hsiao-peng and Xi to where they were. In other words, a meritocratic system to ensure that the very best is available to lead the nation and its people.

      Xi Jinping is definitely the most impressive, effective and influential nation leader in modern history. Liked by at least 95% of China's 1.4 billion population, he is probably the most liked nation leader in human history.

    Seeing what is happening over the world now, I predict that China will be the most blessed place to live, work & progress with plenty of opportunities at least in the next few decades. Wish Taiwan Chinese make their right choice to return to the motherland as soon as possible so as not to miss the boat.

      I believe you're right Donat - I for one have learnt in the time I've been here that my life is not only more simple, it's a lot better than it could ever be in the West. For certain, I'd run out of money before I'm 80 years old, and that would be living a frugal, almost hermit existence, there's no danger of that happening here in China

    It's a very good idea! Red Note will bring all people in the world together and cultural exchanges! Getting to know each other will bring peace to the world.
    Let those war mongers and their rusty mindset stay in the box.

      Unfortunately I suspect the USA will use the same legislation to ban it, if the court case upholds the law as being legal - the legislation may be called "the Tik Tok Ban" but is in fact a wide ranging and all encompassing IT/Social media law that allows them to take the same action with any App or site online

    When you discuss problems in China, please talk about joint bank accounts. Will that change anytime soon? Does getting a joint account in Hong Kong get around that if the Hong Kong bank has mainland branches?

      PRobably not, I've made videos about banking in China, it's really difficult and everyone who comes here experiences issues with it - I was just asked by a Chinese media group, what's the biggest problem facing foreigners and banking was my answer - I wonder if they'll use it???

    Jerry, you know how American politicians keep saying China stole American technology.
    Have you looked up the Jan 3 , 1979 American and Chinese science and technology agreement?

    • @George-k6o9t
      @George-k6o9t 2 часа назад

      Hah! The Americans can talk (sarcasm) when they stole technology from Britain (as well as Germany, etc) to kickstart their own Industrial Revolution after 1783 - and whatever they couldn't steal, they'd use hostile takeovers through the share market or buy using the power of the U.S. dollar.

    EAST ASIAN people respect level always been very "conservative" to elders, children, and family privacy. Asian people in general does not criticize higher up leadership or people that would be considered righteous, patriotic, leadership, higher education, scientists, etc...out of respect. They really dont want to go that route because is not in them. Asians who cross that boundary are ones that are not respected and they will get criticized for criticizing seeing it as disrespectful. West needs to understand that its a choice and not forcesd. We all have that in us to respect elders, support the children, keep family business under the roof, etc...west just lost that critical behavior which only can make society more valueble.

    This is 6 -7 years ago , car parking in Sydney center , near Chinatown .. " Wilson car park " just under 2 hrs cost $28 ! street parking is very limited and only 1-2 hrs , close to the main city center .. parking station ONLY , public transport have improved dramatically , the light rail operate along the Old main street ( George street ) is convenient for the tourist , almost no privet car enter , my friend from US ask me " Should I hire a car from the airport ?" my reply . Only if you stay in a outer Sydney suburbs and intend to drive few hundred mile outside Sydney for most of your stay , otherwise DON'T ! Used the public train / transport and stay close to a train station ! at least you will safer then the train in USA ( LA ) ! ! you won't be attack / stab or assaulted because happen to be there !

    • @George-k6o9t
      @George-k6o9t 3 часа назад +1

      I stopped driving my car into the Sydney CBD 10 years ago and have taken the train whenever I need to go there. However, the train service is dismal, the staff encountered are surly, timetables and schedules unreliable and overall, not as pleasant an experience as it should be - except that yes, Sydney trains are safer and cleaner than in LA, NYC and Chicago where I have visited.
      The current Sydney rail workers dispute and series of strikes do not inspire any confidence in the system though as passengers daily commute has been disrupted and inconvenienced.

      I used to work in York St, when I fist started there, I had a corporate parking spot but then they started taxing them as perks so my company gave me the choice, pay the tax and keep it, or let it go and use public transport, the public transport was cheaper and faster than driving, once I found out, I never drove into the city again

    It's a slap to the face of the American administrators. The point is clear, Americans don't subscribe to your BS.

      Who cares what Americans subscribe to and think these days anyhow? Even Americans themselves are starting to doubt their own BS unfettered capitalistic model (eg Luigi Mangione and the U.S. Healthcare Insurance system case).
