A pine coffin inside an old box car, headed South while the Sun goes down and people along the tracks singing spirituals as it passes. Goin' home now......
I play this song for 20 years now - from time to time - and after all this years a lot of covers pop up here and there - There are also real bad "lessons" of it around. Good covers and bad ones - you know... Your's impressed me, because I can feel the passion and how you are in to it! Go on!
Resonant93 when you started to learn the resonator, did you start on a normal guitar or straight to the resonator.. this tune made me want to learn so my fiancé went and brought me a standard guitar but I didn't like it because the sound wasn't right
I played normal guitars for many years before I switched to a resonator, it's true they do have a different sound but you can get a decent sound from normal acoustics also. If you are playing with a slide you could try putting heavier strings on it, say 13's. Tune to open D, DADF#AD. This guy uses a normal acoustic watch?v=yjhYCoQrh_0
Every time I listen to you play feeling bad blues I am amazed again. You play it incredibly beautifully! I hope you are still out there playing. I'd love to jam with you sometime.
that is one weird back yard....! Awesome work, you knows it and felt it. cheers. happy to stumble across this clip.....wish I could un-see the scene though
That's the best cover version I have heard. The Busker sounds great, I've just bought myself a Vintage resonator AGM1. I am going to have to watch this video a few thousand times to get my version to sound like yours. Cheers Denis.
Resonant, I love your rendition of this song. Beautiful, with lots of emotion. Any possibility you could make a video lesson? I'd love to learn this song, but fear I'd spend more time crying than playing it. Breathtakingly beautiful guitar playing, my friend.
Pure magic, I am struggling to learn to play the feelin bad blues and have watched you play this hundreds of times trying to pick up tips on how you play it this good, but it's very difficult duplicate your Playing from a video ! Would you consider doing a tutorial video showing exactly how you play this note for note, I would be happy to pay for your instruction to learn how to play your cover as it is the best I have found on the web, Cheers John................. Durham UK
Really nice playing, a lovely feel. I have a MM Lightning on order, i just hope it sounds as good as your Busker. Right then, off to find the tab for this!
Very correct on the notes! Kudos! That is very seldom with the covers of that song. Glad you did put in the effort to do it jzstuce and not just improvize around it!
Nice patio, is it still moss free ? Given a roofing stone gathers etc, yeah guilty pleasure drp every now an then, dunno I still prefer your version on the 1/2 size kids guitar. But I'm a sucker for the implasable 👀😎😍
Hiya m8 i just got a gretsch bobtail i have it in open d and play feelin bad blues but your tuning sounds different.could you tell me what it is please.ta m8
Beautiful playing - truly wonderful. Any sage advice for an old, youngish man looking to delve into the dark arts of Resonator guitar for the first time?
Can't even tell you how many times I've watched this video. Beautifully done, very soulful!!
Duane Diller Thankyou so much, I really appreciate that. I hope to post some new videos soon.
Resonant93 ill be waiting! Where are you from, and did you learn the slide guitar on your own or do you take lessons?
I live in the UK, in Yorkshire. I taught myself to play slide guitar from youtube videos and such.
There is nothing that sounds better than a resonator guitar played right. This is one of those times. Great job.
This song could make angels cry. Beautifully done!
Listening to this makes me want to be buried by the highway side... and I ain't even feeling poorly!
Just incredible! Every time I come back and listen to you it sounds even better.
