I have owned both the National ($3200.00) and now the Republic Tricone, which was $799.00. The Republic sounds great and I'd almost say I can't tell the difference between the two, but then some would say I'd sound as if I have no ears. The resonator internals inside the National are certainly more rugged. I've had to have one of these ever since "The Progressive Blues Experiment" came out.
I’d like to hear something about how the national and this Republic compare. I own a republic roundneck and I love it. The sound is very good. The playability isn’t that good. Very thick wide neck and also very high action which can’t lower than it is now... but I love the sound of it!
I've never played guitar before. I can play trumpet, drums and piano. I really want to play blues on resonator. Any tips on where I can learn online and what guitar I should buy as a beginner? Many thanks in advance.
I think she was the first person to hit the guitar on that wood shelving in the back room lol. I was wondering when someone would accidentally do that.
I owned a Republic and that brand has the potential to become a great guitar but the necks are like a slightly rounded 2x4. I gave it back, bought a National and have had it for years. Got a Mule, too.
very güdd playing ❕☑️ gotta love this little parlor Republic Resolian i gott - was also able to get myself Recording King Tri-cone too - both great tone reasonable price instruments ❕🐊 🐸🍀
i have this one, its pretty nice and sounds sweet as this one in the video, and has the bell like tones . . . vs the recording king's version in same price range, (the rking is heavier and more muddier / raw sounding) , the recording king has a wider neck too.
...wow this takes me back to Chris Whitley! I do not know what his choices in guitars were recording or otherwise... but you struck a very memorable reference to a very special artist and some exceptional songs... TYVM

I was walking down by the crick on the hottest July night. Full moon and crickets churpin. She was, sitting on an old hickory stump wearin nothin but a smile and playing with her resonator for me.
Interesting but I think it would be better with a glass slide rather than stainless steel stainless steel steels sounds far through scratchy against the strings
@@rum5812 I know that. I have one. The company itself is based in Austin Texas and all setups are done here in America by Frank... the setup is what makes the resonator sing...really good value for the $$ republicguitars.com/

Her playing really resonates with me.
Did you really think you could just slide that in there?
Lol, very punny!
Nice
Her low cut top is what is resonating with me.
She can play that thing

Rogo looking good and swinging that slide like a boss!
Haunting tones! Love it!
What could be the cost as long as I have been paying I never saw one like that nice tone norm
Wow, that guitar is beautiful!
I grew up when Nationals hung from the ceiling of every pawn shop in Miami. and you could not give them away. Ask Norm he was in Miami late 50's.
I use a VW 1600 piston wrist pin as a slide for my Regal RC2 resonator. It has great sustain.
She had me the first time the slide hit the strings. Awesome playing, I could listen to that all day.
I have that Tri Cone and my son has the rusty Republic Tri Cone, well made and sound great.
Love how tight and smooth this guitar sounds, they must be quite a heavy set of strings though.
She's an excellent player. Wish I could jam with her.
I use,Craftsman sockets 3/8 3/4 19mm
I've a Republic biscuit reso in antiqued nickel finish, love the sound, wish it was a spider but hey, love the sound.
Nice.....I’d love a reso ukulele like that.
Seems I've heard this style of music all my life. I'm going to have to get one of these
I like this lady, she rocks. I have trouble calling her Rogo when I know her name is Sara(h) with or without the H. She plays quite well!

That is one great sounding resonator guitar. I still love my old Nationals, tho. Very fine playing, Rogo 👍🏻

So a copper slide will give you what kinda sound? Curious because a friend wants to make a few.
Wonderful sounding resontor guitar! ...with an even greater sounding price!
I love the Republic. Great guitars
Great sustain.!!
Well played, thanks
My favorite slide is a wrist pin out of a 1600 cc VW Beetle engine. It's very hard a is bright, also it can make harmonics by bowing across strings.

Great tone and nice slide work
Awesome sound!
I love the this guitar
Smooth how she bangs the head against the shelf @ 0:41 YIKES!
I'm a fan of Coricidin glass, I use it as it eliminates the sometimes annoying sound of each string wrap...love this though!

Chris was a National guy.
Trying to find a 12 string tricone - guess I'll have to have one made?
You Rock Rogo!!! TriCones are Great,, But DualCones are Utterly Amazing!!!
You mean a "Duolian," which has a single biscuit cone.
Thanks for sharing
How do these sound when you play the traditional chords?
Sweet sound and playing!
Beautiful guitar ....... I love dobros as well ... Had a chance to play one once .... Wow ....
Try a Royall.. bought a tri cone cutaway for $$700 and love it!!!
Not seeing this on the website Norm?
Killer player! I have a Republic Miniolian parlour wood and reso, lovely and affordable. One thing to be aware of this that neck, very wide nut!
Killer playing ✊🏽
Nice demo. Great job. Stay safe.
My old Republic is still going strong.
Frosted glass slide sounds awesome.

Which tuning is she using?
Price.?
I would love to see a video of Sarah explaining different resonator types
that guitar screams the Blues.
Rogo rocks!
All I know is chrome guitars are cool. Like your slide playing there sister 😎
One of these days I will click on a Rogo video without people posting creepy comments and that day is not today
People really do suck, huh
No shit eh? She deserves respect.
Folks gotta think, “Would I say something like this to my sister... or my mom?” If the answer is no, then don’t say it.

They should have tuned it for her, before the recording of the video. She plays great though.
Luis Villarreal anyone who can play that well can certainly tune it themselves. I didn’t hear anything out of tune.
