Thanks, yea I'm kinda not bothering with the "big 2" I like being a rebel and going against what everyone else is using. They are missing out. I used to be a Daiwa whore :)
Very nice You can see the difference between a premium chinese reel and the cheaper ones. Compared to my handing m1 it looks to have a few nice features and super premium light weight! Budget vs premium for sure. This is deffently a different class of reel competing on a whole different level. Its more of a vanford, emeralds or alx thea (dont forget abu garcia (the big 3 👍).
ALX Theta, are you on Australia? Abu is nowhere near as big of a player here but definitely in 3rd place. I do like Abu though for nostalgic reasons. I have the Tsurinoya Kingfisher on an Abu Rayrex
They are starting to line up! The Kestrel/Tegmen/Lanius/Zeus Air/Artemis eve LINNHUE has a 139gram reel and all around or under 50$ My wrists love them light reels, but the Lanius sure seems smoth!
Yea a little Stradic looking. What Ryobi reel are you talking about? This reel is buttery smooth, have had a few casts with it and hopefully drop the review video in a couple of weeks
Try the kastking kestrel or other kastking reels 👍 slightly more expensive but its an American brand.. still cheaper than Penn andAbu Garcia. Some would say even better. Light weight and more durable than Tsurinayoa...
Hiya, i was looking for a reel but i was wondering. Around my local waters theres mostly bass pike and zander. i was looking at the artemis and jaguar but i have no idea how much attention i should pay to the max drag
113 bucks is wild for a real like that. I just wonder what the long Gevity is like on a real like this. and obviously it isn't going to be any where near the same calliber as something like a daiwa airity. but for the price it seems like a no brainer for someone looking for a budget real I would love to see a video of you putting the real to the test.
It was $114 Aussie, it will last as long I guarantee it. They save money on marketing and not really having to do research and development either so you are not paying the extra premium.
Yea a little, went to bluegill on Sunday to check it out because I heard it opened again. Had a couple of cracks for a brown trout. Check out my latest video
This reel has that gasket underneath the drag tension knob which will help prevent water getting into the reel. I would always recommend spraying any reel with fresh water and the drag tightened after any saltwater fishing.
hello everyone, I'm looking for a light reel for UL, buttery smooth? for now it is Daiwa Legalis. Which reel is still so smooth, with an excellent brake (up to 100 dollars) and that it is light?
Copies will never be as good as the original even for the price. They don't use the same materials and fall apart over time. The bearings will corrode overtime. For the price it's same as Daiwa, but Daiwa will use better materials and bearings making it last longer and keep it's tolerance way better over many years.
Hey sweet accord! Ooc, where do you think budget daiwa reels are made? By the way, I am fairly certain they all use cast zinc main gears… and bearings are really technically consumable parts. Even anti corrosion bearings don’t last… I don’t quite think that this is a copy as well unless you consider every car to be a copy or every hamburger you eat to be a copy… Daiwa and Shimano need to look out for making profits and so while they do have a reputation to keep they will also be looking to do it as cheaply as possible. Now, all of that being said, show me a pricey/made in japan egg beater and I’ll totally agree that it’s a superior reel for obvious reasons. But… that’s not the point that yep is trying to make. He’s trying to show that there are other options out there that are budget friendly and aren’t bad products. It’s good to have competition in the marketplace. It drives innovation… you stop and companies get lazy and there is no need for them to move forwards. So… imho seeing products like this is a good thing for everyone. Hope that makes a bit of sense. Cheers my friend!
@@yep.fishing haha yeah i know i was just like wow lol...top of that my SF is a SLP WORKS close to 800$ i use to buy cheap reels long time ago nothing wrong with it but i just like the fancy stuff now that i been fisfing for over 33 years.. dont get me started on my tuna gears and fly rods
@@yep.fishing might have to get me one of this reels for fun and something i can take and not worry about it getting beat up .. this small tiny reels should be fun for mackerels at my place
You have really found your niche on YT and do a great job with the reviews on BFS gear.
Yea thanks Larry, those are mostly the videos that do well so I have teamed up with some companies to help promote their products to a wider audience.
Another detailed vid; well done
Thanks I have a few more I will probably no out soon
Great video mate. I am amazed at the quality of CDM spin reels. The Handing M1 and the bearking HD series are mint also

Nice review Jacob. You nailed the lighting 👌🏼
Haha I just went hard on the lighting, I was so fed up with the quality.
Very nice

Hermoso carrete, la calidad de los carretes de tsurinoya es evidente 👍
Yes, high standard from tsurinoya. No bad products at all I don’t think.
Never seen a reel with a kickstand.. nice touch.
They usually come as aftermarket accessories from gomexus. Not usually as an inclusion: :)

Yes it definitely doesn't feel cheap at all, good line lay. I will add 1 shim to the handle knob and it will be perfect.
You can add the tsurinoya jaguar to that list
I will look it up
It looks premium. The designs seems to be taken from a Ryobi mid range reel crossed with a Stradic.
Yea a little Stradic looking. What Ryobi reel are you talking about? This reel is buttery smooth, have had a few casts with it and hopefully drop the review video in a couple of weeks
Nice one Jacob! I haven’t really picked up my spinning gear in a while but awesome to see that CDM entries are really nice looking!
Will be good for light days and my BFS pitching sucks too so it's handy for that

Kastking Kestrel SFS 1000 spinning reel will be coming soon.
Hiya, i was looking for a reel but i was wondering. Around my local waters theres mostly bass pike and zander. i was looking at the artemis and jaguar but i have no idea how much attention i should pay to the max drag
This reel is more of an ultralight reel, I'm unfamiliar with the Jaguar but the larger Artemis is a better option than the Lanius.
So I guess this is a shimano Vanford that uses a long stroke spool for better casting distance. Am I correct?
Yea it's similar to the Canford but with Stradic styling. I think the main difference is it doesn't have X Protect/mag Seal tech
Nice to see something other than daiwa okuma and shimano onlly
Yes, did you know Okuma isn't a Japanese brand. It's actually from Taiwan?
Ah ok that's interesting
yea back in the day I assumed it way also, its just a successful brand that has international recognition after being around for a long time.
I got a okuma budget fly reel made of graphite
@@rogerfranz1152 I have a few older Okuma things. In Australia one of the biggest tackle importers than sponsors youtubers does mainly Okuma

If you're really interested in trying the reel I can bring it to the blue hole

What’s the line lay like ? What size would this compare to in diawa sizing ?
Check my community post. I posted a picture of the line lay. It's very good out of the box without shimming.
Is Tsurinoya any good for salt water fishing?
This reel has that gasket underneath the drag tension knob which will help prevent water getting into the reel. I would always recommend spraying any reel with fresh water and the drag tightened after any saltwater fishing.

This reel is buttery smooth. Better than my Daiwa TD Black. People say the Purelure Yannick is also good but I have never used one

Unfortunately I will have to disagree, you think that this is using far inferior components to Daiwa or Shimano?

A Legalis is in the same price range. I rather have a true authentic reel. 🤣 Sorry.
The legalis is a good reel yes, especially if you are a Daiwa fanboy.
@@Sweetaccord actually the legalis is is more expensive and has fewer bearings.
How smooth is the drag on this? Have you tried it with line?
Yes I'll be releasing the video maybe within a week. So far it seems as smooth as anything else I've tried. I want to test it a bit more though
Also is it both right and left hand reel?
Yes, all spinning reels should be able to have the handle switched sides.
Bro you need to try the pure lure yannic
Yes and also the silver feather spinning reel. Very curious.

Half the price of a nice Daiwa or Shimano reel. Hopefully you can land some nice fish on that little thing.
Yea I don't see myself paying $300 for a reel unless it was for Tuna or something

The smallest reel I have is a Daiwa MR750 but its nowhere near the quality of this despite being a JDM reel. Its JDM but it's still a budget reel.
