    I appreciate the heads up about fake mAH claims, that's good to know that 3500 is gonna be about the top ceiling

    I broke open an old dell laptop battery and there were like 12 18650 from Samsung inside and they were still super

    If anyone is ever stuck on finding these at a store, go to a local vape shop. (Not condoning nicotine products) They sell 18650's, some will have you sign a form, that's for safety reasons. Careful handling these, I don't recommend using any with any dents or tears in the wrapper.

      Some vape shops sell wraps. Rewrapping is easy and fun. All you need are the wraps and a blow dryer. Plenty of how to videos on a lot of RUclips vape channels.

    The lower amp hour rating might be based on cost as well as being optimized for a daily charge/discharge cycle. I saw those there too. I like to have the microusb charging batteries. I know that the charger port can be a failure point. I like to have the option to charge the cells in my EDC.

    • @PewLand
      @PewLand 3 года назад +1

      Get the portable olight magnetic battery charger and you can easily recharge cells on the go without carrying a huge battery charger. Then you dont have to carry the USB style batteries

    • @Thereal111t
      @Thereal111t 3 года назад

      @@PewLand so for a little background… my edc usb cord is a net dot magnetic tip cord. I keep the lighting nib in my phone and a microusb nib in my Anker fusion wall charger/battery bank combo. The same cord can charge either my battery bank or my phone since the nibs are universal. If I pull the micro usb nib I can plug it into either the usb 18650 in my wowtac or 14500 in my lumentop tool. My general practice is to charge these batteries over night at home in my traditional charger. This option is good for traveling. I’ve seen the olight magnetic charger, but I’ve never felt the need to buy one.

      Chinese manufacturers are notorious for false mAh ratings. It’s gotten silly, some read 19980 mAh when they test at 2400 mAh. 😂

    The cut battery packet was probably from a shoplifter that got caught. A store detective at Walmart told me that the electronic department is the most monitored department.

    I’d like to see a follow-up on the Westinghouse batteries. They are almost certainly counterfeit. All the Westinghouse batteries I’ve ever had started leaking pretty badly after a year or so.

    JIUJITSU2000: The ones you said you got at Walmart are only 2000 mAh! What is the amps on them? I would rather have 3000-3500 mAh at 20-35 amps.

    Does the XTAR VC8 that you are using to charge have a testing or grade mode? Then you will know the true capacity.

    It's November 2023, so I'm a bit late to comment 😁. In all my years of testing numerous 18650 batteries, I would NEVER purchase any advertising or claiming anything higher than a 3,800 mAh rating.
    Ones that I've tested claiming 4,000 mAh and higher were all FALSE. It's like claiming a 16oz coffee cup can hold 5 gallons... impossible. 3,800 mAh is the sweet spot that you should stick to when purchasing 18650's. 👍
