Indie horror isn’t the only space that’s about to experience big changes. I have been following independent creators in this space for years, and I firmly believe that independent productions that are made with love and heart (whether they be video games, animated shows, or movies) will start to explode in popularity over the next few years. I have a theory as to why that is, but that’s a topic for another day.

I don't know, UniqueGeese. The Poppy Playtime developers are extremely confident that it will release this month. They said that Matpat can make a theory on chapter 3 before he retires (Matpat quits somewhere in March). They also said that chapter 3 is not releasing in Feburary or March. We also received news that the second trailer is finished and that a developer said that the trailer will drop in "Less days than I have fingers on my hand."

About Bendy: The Cage, they say its going for a much more dark and horror focus and one of the screenshots on the Steam page shows Sammy Lawrence. There is no doubt in my mind that in a much darker toned game, Sammy will thrive and as a Sammy Lawrence fan I cannot wait to see it! Also, the feel of The Cage will probably be a major factor to my feelings on the Bendy movie.

it is very nice that indie horror games are getting more into horror which is pretty fun to see. I also thought of the same with my own indie horror called "The Magical Pearls" that is like based on the magical girl series that have been recently shut down and you play as a 12 year old girl diving into the world of the magical pearls

as someone who is working on an indie horror game myself, it's pretty hard to make something scary in the game but when you're finished its scarier than you expected.
I think the reason family friendly indie horror is swinging back is because when it started, a lot of kids gave immediate support, but they saw more continuous support from older audiences
when the first game is short and your series make the second one a full game and then make a really long game with the 3rd chapter- huggy wuggys waiter.
Jorala: my indie horror game based off video game companies and horror games like Poppy Playtime and Garten of Banban Chapter 1: The player receives a tape with the tv commercial of their favorite video game, Jorala: Princess of Aurora (based off Shantae and Starfire), from the king of video game development, Brainsplosion Games, founded by Oswald C. Watson, also a newspaper involving the shutdown of the company after employees and children disappeared in there. They return to the headquarters they always came to when they’re a kid, and discover a camera recording of an employee named Thomas Maxwell, who claims to see a bunny-like creature with three eyes and jagged sharp teeth, before being killed by that said creature, but not before telling them to find the star. The player completes the code to the door and sees a toy helicopter and another recording, which reveals that the helicopter is actually the BlasterCopter according to Thomas, it can blast targets that open doors. When the player opens the entrance door with the BlasterCopter, they encounter the statue of one of Brainsplosion Games’ most beloved mascots; Bobby Bunny, from UglyCritters, who happens to be the creature that killed Thomas. If Indie Horror/Mascot Horror were to be seen as a graph with the higher it gets being the more safe/kid-friendly it is then I feel it would be similar to a normal distribution curve. It started with things being genuinely scary, down at the bottom of the graph, got more and more kid-friendly and clean up until the last year or two when it hit that top point of the curve, and now we're on that arc back down to where it was before as these games that started less scary go more into that dark and horror-focused scene we all loved from back in the day as new games releasing start targeting that same feel as well. Sure some may stick around without it like Banban, but the majority I feel will follow the trajectory and start getting genuinely scary again which has me greatly excited.
I do kind of find it funny how he said BanBan 6 is like his least fav, while when MatPat played it on GTLive, he does not like it either, he felt a lot more critical on 6 than the others Also the Fnaf Fanverse is just a mess, it was a good idea and hopefully the games do come out are great, so far we have had only Flumpty 3 and we all know what happened there, FNAF + is a mess and just gone probably, the rest of the 3 main games in the fanverse does seem to be going well and i do hope it all goes well. Roxanne should have been added to the main cast instead of being a supplementary replacement for foxy like an editional character as for the jumpscares. I am hype for chapter 3 but they’ve gotta get it together. 2 years for a 3 hour chapter??? Chapter 4 either needs to come out in way less time or be a hell of a lot longer. Though who knows if they can even work out the story if half the people that created it left.
I don't think you realize how much effort has to be put into 3 hours of content. Especially if the game is as graphically demanding as Poppy Playtime.
@@wubsuf I know a lot of effort goes into it, I also know that we should not normalize releasing one game in "chapters" and taking years to do it. Mob Games has been making money off of this, I mean they have a movie deal already. Hire more help if they can't work it out?
@@BriarPatchNyrait's normal for an indie game to only be an hour or two. We're getting many hours of content and I don't mind waiting if it means the game will be good. A rushed game is bad forever.

Joy is what we should have gotten with SB. The fact that Joy of creation did the open aspect a lot better than breach with all of the creepy is embarrassing it makes you wonder what steel wool was really going for. shafting foxy and mangle for roxanne but keep freddy bonnie and chica while adding new characters. Roxanne should have been added to the main cast instead of being a supplementary replacement for foxy like an editional character as for the jumpscares. Well, they just look cheap not at all scary as in the original trilogy

Is it a boy, is it a girl, is it a genderqueer person, is it even human, are they a kid, are they an adult, do they have a connection to the park or someone tied to it, were they working for the park, are they just someone who is in the wrong place at the wrong time, ARE THEY GREGORY FROM FNAF SB AS AN ADULT?!?!?!
