Oh, I loved Tomowa-Sintow very much. I saw her onstage in many roles: Tatyiana, Donna Anna, Elsa, many others. She wanted to sing more Italian roles, and this was her chance to prove that she could do it well.
Am a bit mystified by the wild applause. Strong voice, but often gutteral in tone and with poor Italian diction. I probably shouldnt have listened to Caballe just before this..now that was how the aria should be sung ..in my opinion
One of the best recordings I’ve seen/heard her do.
Her timbre is shimmering and there’s no wobble or forcing.
