That skid plate tongue had an issue rubbing my Revolver 540s and made it feel bound up. I used a 2mm spacer on the single front bottom screw that goes into the motor plate and it's good now
I love this kit (I saw one at a local shop) and I hope Santa or my wife puts one under the tree. But, I also want a Redcat Ascent and I am wondering if you can do a review and discuss brushed(budget vs brushless (higher end) (Revolver maybe?) motor setups for both it and the VRD Carbon. I will own both trucks (it's a sickness 😉 ), but the gearing and stock motor choices in the Redcat leave me with some questions on proper turn count or KV options (The VRD already has lots of videos with examples and I am sure you are going to discuss your choice in another video). Thanks in advance!
You almost made me disassemble one of my R/C to put it back together rofl, than I realized I would be left holding a screw....does it happen to anyone else? Thank you John for another great video, can't wait for part 2.
I built mine over the Thanksgiving weekend. Wonderful build, great Kit. I'm betting you got the stubby conversion kit with the behind the axle servo mount. 1:30 in I'll shut up and watch now 😉✌
Funny you compared the ascent and this kit. I bought the ascent on release due to price and have put a ton of packs through it. I'm about to start this kit build though bc I liked what I saw seeing some other people's higher quality(than redcat) rigs. I'm almost finished with my parts gathering.
When all else fails read the instructions 😆😆😆, I'm old school all manual twisty, have to resist the natural inclination to Bamm Bamm everything though.
I got a buddy in the UK that makes part's from carbon fiber that he gets from a producer of f1 race team carbon part's. It's so much stronger then any other carbon ive come across. His aluminum 7075 is a grade above everyone else's also. Witch makes his part's the best on the market. But the price reflects the quality.
Anything with bread that has stuff between it is a sandwich, regardless of whatever fancy name it has. lol I give you credit for at least trying to use the manual. That is real growth, buddy! 😂 It is funny how they write those manuals in the proper order you need to build the truck, eh? 🤣 Don't Be a Menace To South Central While Drinking Your Juice In The Hood! lol We were just talking about that movie on last week's live show on the channel.
Pre-built shocks?! I was REALLY hoping for a shock build segment, if not an entire video! Was that believable? Did I stretch the truth too far on that one?
I definitely would much rather use electric to put stuff together my buddy Josh which is Prophet design his Plastics I don't know exactly what they're made of but my goodness when you tighten down a screws literally it will stop you
What is this??? Mr. Holmes, is reading instructions... That's sacrilegious. Nevermind, I take it back... didn't watch long enough before commenting, just pulling out the instruction book confused me, lol
I love how everybody buys pre-assembled and then wonder why the damn things leak LOL they damn sure don't use green slime or other o ring lube thats for sure..lol😂 shocks are one of the most important parts of your suspension.. time should be taken to build them right .. and yeah everybody takes the lazy route

I like how in-depth you’ll get into reviewing the kits materials.

Looking forward to seeing the end result!
Very very blessed I love the fact of what you're able to do man it's really really cool
thank you, I really enjoy it!
This will definitely be my next build
Impatiently waiting for them to be back in stock
you make the best RC videos bro lmao, for real... you need to make shirts "Rolled threads are cool threads!", there, your welcome.
Cool idea

It is a great kit that I just finished, it will be one of my go to rigs

I'm definitely considering getting this kit. But I just finished my Basecamp build.

Just put mine together with the stubby vfd and a team spec 540m
Nothing more enjoyable and yet frustrating then watching a grown adult ham fist there way through building something.
Everyone needs a shock plier for Xmas.
Use electric screw driver untill it is close, then finished it off by hand. 😂😂
great kit, it comes together so smoothly! thanks for sharing your thoughts on it!!

So true!
I can’t decide if I should get a carbon kit or a h10 next, currently have a Phoenix
Dang it only took me 6 months to find and procure one of these bad beauties….darn good video as always!!
thanks for watching! we did a whole series on it
Wrong hole foo!! Oh hell it’s been a while since don’t be a menace…to south central while drinking your juice in the hood. 😂 epic vid 🤘
Is there going to be a Holmes 2in1 motor coming out? Like the Fusion
Working on it 🙃
What motor and esc are you using? I’m thinking the 540 ss team spec and v2?

they often go hand in hand
The S8E shocks feel smother to me than the incision ones. I’ve swapped all my vanquish to S8E.
Good to know , I can always switch later
Cool .... can I have your pull-offs?
Is this in stock anywhere yet?
