I'm glad I came across this because I really want to be a midwife nurse or OBGYN nurse but I want to be a natural one, that is also educated in herbal, holistic and homeopathic alternatives.

this is great. I am currently a nurse going on eight years and more and more have gotten into the holistic approach of things and recently found a school here in Texas about 30 minutes fro where I live in Fort Worth that offers a Holistic Wellness course and I am stoked to start. Thank you for the information and encouragement.

Cameron, how was the class? I will be starting nursing school this August for a 15 month intensive BSN program. However, what I am truly passionate about is herbalism and naturopathic remedies. At the same time I would like to integrate both but I’m unsure of what that looks like at this point. Would love to hear your opinion on the school you went to in Fort Worth as I also live in Fort Worth.

@MzLaylah234 I beleive he is referring to Hill College. I am planning on attending their program, have talked to their graduates and they have nothing but good things to say about it. It sounds like a wonderful program that not only offers herbalism as well as wellness coach and holistic nutrition.

Have seen the medical system fail so many people over the last 23 years and getting worse with time.😢 considering holistic nursing.

Amazing content, thank you! I'm currently contemplating nursing school (and then specializing in holistic nursing) but I'm getting spooked by all of the horror stories floating around about the nursing profession. I want to help people make holistic changes in their everyday lives. Is nursing the best opportunity for that, or should I consider another route? Thank you for any insight!

Hi Krysten! It really just depends. Nursing is incredible for the stability it provides in my life and for my family, the experience with direct patient care it's given me, and it's completely informed my practice as a healer. Are there other ways of serving clients? Of course. Is the healthcare industry a beast to work in, especially for those of us with differing values? Absolutely. It's not for the faint of heart but I'm so glad I did it. Let me know how I can help guide you in any other way!

@@witchnursesteph Thank you so much for the honest feedback! I've thought a lot about it over the last few weeks, and I've decided to go the coaching route instead. Although it certainly isn't perfect either, I feel it gives me a scope of practice that is more in alignment with what excites me when it comes to healing. But I still have so much love and immense respect for nursing! And I still plan to consume content directed toward holistic nurses 😉💚

Haha, understood. That's all we get, and most of what we learn as nurses is on the fly, anyway. Do you feel like complimentary and alternative medicine should be a bigger part of nursing education? I saw that you have a nursing channel! :D
