While you guy's are in the US have Jomboy Media to come to your show, if that happens you guys will be able to tap into the US audience as well. He covers Baseball majorly but has also started covering cricket and understands it and explains it to his American audience.

Punter was definitely approached for the job during Ganguly's tenure as the BCCI president. I don't think Jay Shah has formally approached Ponting. There may have been an informal approach just to get an expression of interest, if any, but that should be about it.
I think someone like Punter should at least be approached for a mentor's role during big tournaments, as India has failed in big matches. Sometimes, when you have someone like that who has won many world cups sharing his experiences and mental approach, it can rub off on the players and be crucial in big matches.

Is cricket actually even big in Australia? The reception the Aussie team got after winning the WC was absolutely zero. No celebration, no fireworks, nothing.
What would you say are the top 3 most popular sports in Australia?

      AFL, SOCCER,GOLF

Most popular sports are Australian football, rugby league and cricket, Were very seasonal for cricket though, from December into January its at the cultural centre but outside of those months it just isn't. Also people here very much will put the cricket on in the afternoon very casually whilst their doing jobs around the house and will come to watch it inbetween doing various things, and since the WC was at 1am you just didn't have the connection.

    • @smithy5567

Cricket is our national sport as it is popular in all states and territories. AFL is the most popular Australia wide and with the majority of the population, rugby league slightly behind because its only played in two states, albeit the most populous in NSW and QLD.

#ASKTGC my friend & I bet on Starc's watsonesque comeback. I bet on aussie blood giving 'horse smelling the big race' vibes, he said bharat Arun is a great bowling coach who is going to get Starc's length right as per the bounce in Indians pitches as he did with other kkr bowlers. Who was more right? And why was it me?

Totally belive that Bharat Arun's story he is an awesome coach, one of the reasons India won BGT in Australia last time, only question why did it take so long? How come Starc who has played so much cricket in India doesn't know what lengths to bowl? And why the hell did it happen against the IPL team I was supporting when I know Starc will go back to bowling pump next month in WC when some dude named Roger Moserqiue from an associate nation will belt him for 4 fours in an over? #Asktgc

Honestly at this point the only thing that can save test cricket is splitting of the formats. Let all the money obsessed cricketers go into t20 and keep test cricket separate. The quality will most definitely decline, but it’s the only way of keeping the format

@@imviiku no it does not. For England and Australia, they both still get the most profit from tests. For India, they obviously don’t need t20 money to afford tests. For other countries, they can’t afford tests anyway, and even bilateral white ball matches lose money.

For you to enjoy any league for a long duration you need to support a team in that league. Pick a team and start supporting it, you can't enjoy Premier League or IPL if you're just watching every Single game as a neutral. Yes, IPL will be at least 4 months long in the Future with 16 Teams or more & i wouldn't mind it at all. It's so so much better than redundant Bilateral International Cricket.

‘The Test’ showed the classic Australian hypocrisy. When Ashwin did a Mankad a few years ago - all Australians including Pat Cummins cried foul.
When Aussies did pretty much the same to Bairstow - “It’s in the rule book. You made the rules”. Hypocrites.
Aussies kept sledging Indians for years and no worries. The minute Harbhajan stood up and replied back on the same coin - Sky fell down.
