What an amazing episode @O2India !! Respect for ARR went many folds up after listening to Chamika tracks. What a masterpiece!! No music director even from Punjab could have done this justification to Chamkila and Punjabi music. And kudus to Parneeti for her amazing work in this film 👏
I personally enjoyed watching "chamkila".. now after hearing this unique innovative music recording, I feel like watching it again. She is doing really outstanding job! But still i feel ARRs new mix nowadays i think i partly attribute this to his insistence of Dolby Atmos, feel like low end in general, especially percussions and all seems to have sheen of too much reverb & boom to it i feel like it isn't as seperated & stands as its own in final mix like it did in ARR-H Sridhar era. Maybe its because its multiple engineers he has now so the mix goes through various changes cause each engineer has different workflows and all so its like just a job to them. H Sridhar in general is very unorthodox in his recordings & also he has a gifted ear so woodwinds like flutes & all didn't pierce as much with other instruments since ARR is very heavy on instrumentation which is his trademark & brilliance! H Sridhar in general & from various ancedotes i heard sounds like he's very particular about certain parts he records. I wish ARR gets new engineers & supervisor who are just as gifted or as into attention to detail like H Sridhar sir was. Nothing against Hiral she's doing great herself but still feel like it's just like any other mix i heard with added boom & sheen of reverb in low end & also the fact certain instruments doesn't feel as seperated as i feel. I mean to say there's lot of inconsistency(which is very noticeable in Maidaan album for me).

Yes bro ..nowadays sound layering is not top like 90s and 20s songs where h sridhar and arr duos worked.. Even in tamil industry -absence of vairamuthu lyrics 2-3 songs in a album heard weird..but thatt vairamuthu guy involved in me too incident..arr completely negletected him.. After that only lyrics sucks in some songs in a album Not catchy and poetry like vairamuthu wrote
