It was my first concert -I had just turned16 at Christmas and got the tickets for a surprise after Mum and Dad had kidded me they were sold out. It was at Deeside Leisure Centre January 1982. I didn't come down from that high for months!! I went last night to his FANTASTIC Blueblack Hussar gig at Liverpool Philharmonic 30 yrs and many gigs later) Hell who needs drugs????? saw this at Brighton , god i loved that man what a hero, knee boots and breeches why have they never come into the high street fashion what do we get baseball caps and teenagers who cant pull there trousers up past there arse.
Picked a great song from a great live performance. They really did a real=time, full MU &wardrobe change between the prince charming dandy motif and full on kings of the wild frontier segments of the show! Never missed a beat either! That full live show is recorded and worth finding as well. Cheers!
Did you know that on the KOTWF album that Merrick didn't play a beat on the album! Terry Lee played it all and he did some special stuff including really innovative stuff at the time. He used three different sized blocks of wood for the Antmusic intro, Plus for the drum sound for KOTWF song he used empty drum cases for the drum sound as well. This is all from the Adam Ant book....Stand And Deliver. Apparently Terry Lee is a modest Genius.
Me and my mates used to hire a boat on The Norfolk Broads when Adam was a 'hit' in the 80's.......! So 'don't you ever' have a bad word against him. lol
