When my parents got divorced.I had to leave my father and live with my mom.I used to call him a lot of times but now,it's so hard to call him.It was mostly awkward silence when i speak with him on the phone.I stopped calling my father.Watching this video,i'm gonna start calling my father again.I knew he wasn't the best father i wished him to be but i'm still grateful to him.My brothers and sisters, pray for me that my relationship with my father gets better again.

You described exactly my current situation with my broken family. Subhana'Allah, except my father, he keeps in contact with me. I love both of my parents, irregardless of what has happened between them.

May Allah make us of those who learn and implement lessons from stories and not those who just listen then forget and carry on with doing wrong things.
    Very thought provoking story.

If they will or are trying to bring you in shirk and/or kufr, ofcourse you will disobey them... The best example for us is Ibraheem alayhissalaam (and his relation with his father). A perfect example..

Faith Means Hope No, look at the relation between Ibraheem alayhissalaam and his father.

Muhammed Özdemir Brother you need to understand that there is a difference between obeying and respecting. If someone's parents are telling them to go against Islam, you do not obey them. But you must still speak to them kindly and treat them well, just like Ibrahim (as) did.

    • @sakujo20

but even then.. i mean even if u have to disobey.. u still have to be kind as much as possible.

    I hate my childhood
(I'm still 16 though), I'm Arabic and I'm born in USA, but I understand to speak Arabic, and I don't know how to write, and every time my mom would see another kid who recites the Quran or something, she would be making fun of me and says why aren't you like him, while she never taught me from the first place while I'm supposed to learn from my parents, and my dad just sits and doesn't CARE at all, (anyways, he prays once every 10years)
I can't wait until the time comes where when I buy my very own house and run my very own family, inshaAllah

Please don't say anything about your parents. Love them with all your heart, i dont love with my parents I was sent back to my home country at 13 to learn my religion I didn't mind tho, a year later and I'm 14 I really miss thrm and love them and i want to see them badly and hug them and kiss them and give them everything cook clean ,Even massage their feet talk to them read Qur'an to them but i can't. I call them whenever my grandma's talking to my mum so every 3 days and its so heartbeaking thoughts like "how come I never realised how beautiful my mums voice was" or "how Could I never have realised how soothing and refreshing my dad's voice was'. Please understand your parents want the best even though sometimes may be excruciating they would never leave you in the dark.

I speak/read English too but this person's grammar was not the best and even i found it difficult (seems like google translate) but here's the story:
Once upon a time there was an old man who lived with his wife, maid and chauffeur. His wife died so he went to live with his eldest son.
He was getting old and being a nuisance so he argued with his son's wife (about trivial matters) she persuaded her husband to let his father stay in a seperate room. The son told his father the room was better for his health and has advantages
His son rarely visited him, eventually only once a week and his wife would prepare his meals in one plastic dish and serve all his meals in that
Eventually the old man died and while the son was cleaning out his room, his 10yr old son came in and hugged the plastic dish, the father told him to throw it away, the son refused insisting he needs it.
His father demanded why to which his son replied " When you get old, ill put your food in it"
Not my translation. Taken from UnionRusher1234

What to do when parents ask other siblings to beat me cuz i dont want to marry my aunts(mother sister) daughter and they call my uncle n say bad things about his daughter abuse him and his daughter give fake lies my 5 years younger sisters can kick me out of the house like I am a dog.... how can b I obedient do they deserve this obedience that I would kill my self to work for them like a robot and they beat me till i bleed or all family members beat me just because I don't want to marry from my mother family my father prays 5 times a day n is a total hypocrite keeps on lying to me ... they can take haram money if they know they can get then why Allah still said be obedient ... where is the way of prophet (peace be upon him)??? Quran is guidebook but sunna is to practice it where is Islam in what they r doing & why they should be obeyed parents only use Quran to get what they want times have changed ... I pray everyday for them to get hadya I can't do anything else but i talk back to them i do chores etc but when they leave the ways of Islam and use it for their own purposes they can do anything to win cuz they use Allah religion for personal interests fitting ayas not knowing why they were sent so don't be disobedient until they use Islam n force their will on you cuz Islam gives you freedom and teaches humanity parents should b an example for children not asking them to lie or talking their rights Allah gave them... same goes for children but unfortunately ulamas preach wrongly onesided story they don't create balance in a relationship they disrupt it so muslim youth is being destroyed..... because children now trust friends over parents cuz they will be slapped if they tell the truth... I think it should be the other way around to build a parent child trust n love relationship.. but instead parents say you do this i will kill you ... n they want a child to trust them they can lie cuz they are parents it is the most jahil comments by parents cuz they are teaching to lie... i hope ulamas get my point create balance or stop preaching

Make du'a. It is oppression on you if they force you to marry someone you dont want to get married to. Try to get a scholar to reconcile. May Allah SWT help you.

Islamically they cannot force you in to a marriage. And also, its true that you should obey your parents but the exception comes if they ask you to do something that is against what Allah likes and wants (such as forced marriage-Allah does not accept forced marriage). Stay strong and talk to someone you trust outside your family( eg a teacher or friend) about these issues. Salam :)
