    You’re putting yourselves down saying it’s not a professional job, it looks fantastic!! Nothing worse than wheelie bins, ours are stored up the side of our house under some trees but get covered in leaves and sap etc so this would be great to protect and hide them. Much more aesthetically pleasing than those cheap plastic ones you see in the shops. Bravo guys 👏🏻👏🏻

    Anything to disguise those ugly bins! Yours is a great solution, top access is a necessity in my book, and yours works really well.
    We have a large front garden, so we decided to disguise our wheelie bins with hedge! We have a long beech hedge facing out to the road, so instead of it being totally continuous, it has an oblong section stepped back, with enough space for the bins (we're lucky that it was made big as we've now got three bins rather than two). Originally, we we're going to do a sort of fence for the gap out to the road, but once we'd planted the hedge, my husband had the genius idea of planting hedge in the gap too. So basically, it's a hedge oblong with two openings, one for us and one for the bin men (we're lucky that we dont have to put the bins out in our area, as long as certain criteria are met). From the road, it almost looks like one long continuous hedge, and while it does take up space in the front garden, it's next to our kitchen garden, so it works really well. A couple of neighbours have done something similar, taking inspiration from ours.

    This looks great - I’ve made a similar store myself with a green rood recently, it’s a lot of work. Only concern is it looks like you used untreated wood - even with the stain this probably won’t last long before it rots and warps. You can get all of those dimensions in treated timber which will give you a lot more life from your hard work!

    • @EmmaHill
      @EmmaHill  4 месяца назад

      Luckily it is in a fairly sheltered area with the bushes but yes it definitely would have been better to use treated, my error 🤦‍♀️

    • @EmmaHill
      @EmmaHill  4 месяца назад +1

      I can't recall if I'm honest, maybe £80 or £90 - I thought I had put it in the description box (or maybe mentioned it in the video 🤦‍♀️) but obviously not. If you know the size of the store you want to build, you can check timber prices online at B&Q or Wickes and this will give you a rough idea as that is the main cost 👍

    This looks so damn good! And to be honest very professional in my opinion. What did this project costs without the tools?

    • @EmmaHill
      @EmmaHill  Год назад +2

      Thank you. It actually cost more than what a lot of log stores cost to buy ready made due to the rise in raw material costs. We spent £260 on the raw materials (wood) and fixings but not including the wood stain which we already had. I’m glad we did it though because we did have fun building this together and we made exactly what we wanted. I hope that helps x

    • @smoothie3107
