I have been using thisas a handy reference book ruclips.net/user/postUgkxGQVgV21bQ7B9b9duQ1ByImyT9xHbjOKq . I read through the book and enjoyed the little glimpses of examples. I love that this author believes in rescue dogs. The tips and training has been invaluable and gave me moments of.... "how simple why didn't i think of it" so it's been a great tool. Thank you!
Linda is a true artist with those scissors. She wields those things like DaVinci wielded a paint brush. What a delight to watch her literally sculpt the legs.
You are truly a MASTER GROOMER! Poppy looks wonderful and you took such care with her. My amazing groomer does an amazing job but there are some things that I picked up from this that I'll ask her to do next time I take my cockapoo in (ie, don't trim eyelashes---makes a big difference!). My own skills for maintenance at home have been improved also. Thank you!
great tips thankyou, if ive used the 4 or 5 comb on the body i use the 7 or 8 comb reverse on the legs saves time on scissoring after just need to tidy the sticky outies xx
Ugh. I wish I would have came across this video about 2 hours ago. I bought a wahl home grooming kit and attempted to groom my cockapoo for the first time today. I couldn't find any videos on grooming that particular breed so I sort of had to figure it out myself by just using basic knowledge. He doesn't look too terrible but It could be better. Oh well, practice makes perfect and I'm favoriting this video so that I can have it on hand when he's ready for his next groom! :)
Thank you for the video. You did a great job and the dog looks very good! What a good dog and nice handling of her. I know this is produced by Wahl, but I have to say the Switchblade sounded awful and my experience with the one I tried was that it didn't work well and was heavy. I'd have to recommend Andis clippers (quieter, faster, lighter), but do like my Wahl battery operated trimmer a lot. Your scissors sounded loose - makes you work a lot harder, tires your hand and makes it harder to get smooth scissoring (yours was well done though!). Just some thoughts from another long time groomer. I wish I had customers that would keep their dogs up that well. In our small farming town, they all want short and easy to care for rather than pretty. Oh well! Thanks again for a job well done!
I shave my Cockapoo and it is a real workout. He hates it. I use just the blade and cuts it down very short which he loves because it's cooler (8 months of the year. let it grow for winter). Also it's so much easier to wash him. I use an Andis and it cuts the hair like soft butter. Before doing this myself I took him to a groomer twice they cut his groin area to short and he licked himself raw and I had to put one of those cones on his head for a week, plus medicines. I was soo pissed!!!!. Be careful of this and tell your groomer not to cut to short! I know how to do it so I don't take him anymore.
Those comb attachments look like the wahl metal combs, right? I have the same set, and my peach colored one is a #1 and the blue is #4, which is much shorter obviously.
I've never heard anyone recommend shaving the underside of the ears. This helps keep ear infections under control. I have seen this one thing eradicate ear infections.
Hi Linda, great job. My cockerpoo is almost identical but now I have two I am trying to keep clipping costs down. Your video is a great help. Could you tell me what clipping instruments you use? I have a Wahl clipper but am unsure what I need as regards blades and clipper attachments. Also I like the small clipper you use, can you tell me the name of it. I have scissors but they wouldn't cut butter. Could you recommend some good scissors and poodle comb. Really appreciate this. Thanks so much.
With a teddy bear cut, the leg furnishings are kept longer, to give that floofy appearance, so you don't want them to be the same length as the rest of the dogs body, some groomers would use a set of clippers to cut down on time, but I'd say it's personal preference, as well as they'd need to be scissored anyway to have them blend and flow better, to look good with a teddy bear cut.* *I'm not a groomer, this is just from what I've seen, combined with what I know of basics of different types of style cuts
Do you have any lhasa apso's that stay longer? I'd love to see a video on one if you do please, I spend an hour per day per dog keeping them both brushed and beautiful, I enjoy doing them but would love some tips on how to trim their faces a bit Inbetween their professional groom.
Hi, Here are our two grooming guides for Lhasas: Pet/Salon - ruclips.net/video/IiKMSuR5Grg/видео.html Competition - ruclips.net/video/zGBMbrWa3mI/видео.html
I thought this was very helpful. TY. The ONLY suggestion was the shaking of the camera!! Got a wee bit dizzy at times:)) My cockappo would NEVER sit that still and his tail was cropped before I got him :(
I adopted my dog at one year old via craigslist. Owner couldn’t keep dog anymore. She told me my dog was a Morkie - half Yorkie half Maltese. But looking at Cockapoos- Sadie looks more like this breed than a morkie. Can someone check out my channel to see the videos I posted of Sadie. She weighs about 15 lbs. Also I trim her hair short. The original owner was a bit shady. I believe she has abused Sadie. First, she couldn’t tell me which dog food she eats. Dogs aren’t supposed to change their diet so drastically. Especially with all the changes of a new home and owner. My dog also used to eat so fast. As if she was starving. Now she eats normally but for first few months- she ate as if she was scared her food would be taken from her. I also changed her name too. She didn’t even know the name she was originally given. So I decided to change her name. New life. New start. Sadie is my pride and joy. She’s my life. And I’m very happy to report she’s a very happy dog. The reason I need to know her breed is because different breeds require different needs. Her next vet appointment isn’t for a few months. Figured I’d ask to see if anyone can tell me by looking at my videos to see if she’s a Morkie as I was told. Or a cockapoo
I use a 7f all the time. As long as you know what you are doing it works great. Of course I’ve been grooming 36 years too so I’m sure that makes a huge difference.
My cockapoo's hair must be too fine as it is not trimmed by these clippers. All they do with the attachment, both 4 and 6, is press the hair down. I have to use a scissors.
I'm trying to find a cut for my baby cockapoo puppy he is 12 weeks old. he is all black and his hair is long and curly. you can't see his eyes with all the hair thought I might ask to see how you have yours cut thank you
Using scissors all over the dog takes too long. This is not ideal for groomers working at a salon. It will take you 2 1/2 to 3 hrs to do just one dog when you have 10 to 12 dogs to do a day.

It's always a delight to watch a skilled person doing their job :)

I really enjoyed watching that. I'm newly qualified and have my first Cockerpoo soon. I think this video helped. Thank you
I'm learning how to groom my dog at home, and this video was super helpful, thanks much!
You are truly a MASTER GROOMER! Poppy looks wonderful and you took such care with her. Nice work! I am fostering a Cockapoo and this cut would look so good on her! Many thanks!
She's very well behaved :) Great grooming job!!! Such a beautiful dog. :)
Awww such a good dog. Man I love animals so much. He so well behaved
Thank you for this video! My Howie will be getting the new cut from me very soon.
You are obviously a good groomer. I was looking for more instruction and information about what you are doing.
great tips thankyou, if ive used the 4 or 5 comb on the body i use the 7 or 8 comb reverse on the legs saves time on scissoring after just need to tidy the sticky outies xx
Very helpful, and of course, this dog has such a nice, full coat. That helps, too.
Hello from Istanbul... Nice video, helped much. Thank you.

Excellent teacher!!! I love it!
Fantastic. One of the best cockapoo grooming demos iv see.
I love these clippers, I have the same one and I groom my own dog

Such a good girl standing still. She's sooo cute.
lovely dog❤
i love the haircut
dogs are so cute

Good job, good scissors, who makes them please?
Thank you! Very helpful as I prep to groom our puppy for the first time...now, only if he would stand as still as Poppy! Ha.
would this cut work with a cavoodle?
Those comb attachments look like the wahl metal combs, right? I have the same set, and my peach colored one is a #1 and the blue is #4, which is much shorter obviously.
Please explain how u r doing the clipper on feet... scooping...... and please hold camera stilll. Thanks
I was taught to use a 30 blade with a comb attachment.
It's a long turn for the Dog 🥴the Work is brillant 🌹
That dog is awesome! Couldn't believe how patient she was when the lady had her hand over her face. My dog would go apeshit ahahahaha.
Freddy NoThumbs so true XD

Thank the Good Lord, I found an Actual Good Groomer!! to learn from. There are some real hackers out there putting out these video's.
Hi I’m new to this how do u clip they fur on they pores

What a well behaved dog!
where can I get a comb like the chunky teeth one please?
how long does one appointment typically take?
Can I ask why you wouldn’t clip the legs with the body to save scissor work as this will also give you the same length all over?

How often do you trim her please answer
My dog has tear stains, how would you deal with them?

Aww me lady will get her cut in a wee bit of time . Hers such a good gal.
What clipper do you use for her body? The red and black one. As I have a cockapoo and need some new clippers. Thank you in advance
Ebony Garrett It's the Moser Switchblade.
it's not a dog, it's a statue! 😂
0:48 so fluffy I'm gonna die!!! What a cutie
cute dog
im trying to understand what she said this clipper was called, the Wahl ..something ..... switchblade clipper?? Motion switchblade clipper I got it...
Could I do my Cavapoo like this please?
This is more for the owner than the dog !
No. If they don't get cut down, it becomes extremely matted. They have hair that grows. Not fur that falls out.
what a good puppy 1
could I do this cut for a cavachon please
Kelly Bowey why not! That's why I'm here. I have a Cavachon, too.
mine will not sit still like that at all x
Thank you (ขอบคุณครับ สำหรับวีดีโอดีๆ) :)

did she seriously suggest a 7f for the groin area of sensitive dogs???
I was taught doing my level 3 City & Guilds to use a #8.5 which is a closer cut on all dogs genital area and a #10 for the hygiene area
I use a 7f all the time. As long as you know what you are doing it works great. Of course I’ve been grooming 36 years too so I’m sure that makes a huge difference.
Yeah. I don't think that's a good idea. Not a good recommendation.
did anybody see that flashing light a 3:26 click this number to see it
is it a girl or a boy please reply
+ilymarjoerie Poppy is a female
What model of Wahl clippers did you use. I want to buy one.
Thanks.
Good cut but camera person was couldn't keep still enough so a bit difficult to watch.
My cockapoo's hair must be too fine as it is not trimmed by these clippers. All they do with the attachment, both 4 and 6, is press the hair down. I have to use a scissors.
these blades seemed blunt as they kept catching..
Like you
she's a good girl
Great video. However if you have wriggly dogs like I did, there's no hope of having this much success. :(
perfect! my dog after looked so much cuter!
that looks like sky from paw patrol if you look close
Never had a cocker poo that stays still on the table, most are terrible fidgets
Hi how do you deal with nervous or biting dogs
@@killjoy4540 there's no single answer to that, every dog is different, muzzles are a last resort imo
I have got maltesse dog
The Machine works not good, it's to hear. Wahl, when you make promotion here, why dont you produce, Machines like the Heininger for us groomers?
Awe I have a cockapoo puppy she is not groomed yet but if your are interested in seeing her chech ouy my videos! and the pup is a female
I'm trying to find a cut for my baby cockapoo puppy he is 12 weeks old. he is all black and his hair is long and curly. you can't see his eyes with all the hair thought I might ask to see how you have yours cut thank you
My dogs hair is so thick and Nappy that I can't just shave into it like that!
I have to use scissors
Her mum is a woman after my own heart I hate it when they trim a dog's eyelashes!
y does it say cockerpoo
Cocker Spaniel x Poodle = Cockerpoo , or here in Australia, ‘Spoodle’.
At 38:42 anybody hear that person choking
V
Using scissors all over the dog takes too long. This is not ideal for groomers working at a salon. It will take you 2 1/2 to 3 hrs to do just one dog when you have 10 to 12 dogs to do a day.
So short aaahhhh
Such a submissive dog her head was low the entire time and she didn't want her head to be lifted lol
how do we know this dog is a Cockapoo, it looks more like a Lhatese
Because she said it was. She's the expert after all!
also the size? Malteses and Lhasa apsos are smaller than that dog
Looks exactly like a Cockapoo 😅
Oguli ga ko ovcu
Hahah
Wtf weirdo 😑
Nice but face was very choppy. but good job :)
一一
Awe, he's so thirsty, look at him panting with his mouth so wide open!!! Lady, you don't have to talk the whole time, just cut his hair!!! 😡😡😡😡😡😡😡
That's not thirst. A dog will pant when it is stressed. This dog is stressed out. Which is very normal during a cut. She is not thirsty.
awesome
