So glad you all found this song! I never tire of it. Since the NCIS episode aired, I have received over 10,000 hits on this video. I hope that many of you have used the link and purchased the piece. The more people that know of and support Patty's music, the better, as far as I'm concerned.
sometimes it just takes a simple melody and lyric to remind us of how fragile life is...and how sweet the memory can be in the remembrance. patty griffin's music is a gift.
I agree Kingscrib & bushmandread. I had never heard the song before 15th Jan episode of NCIS. Talk about a haunting melody! And then the pics that caught me the most was the one near sundown that showed a fence with razor wire at the top, and the one that showed the clouds moving by.
It wasn't that moment that got me with this song, it was the alternating funerals for Eli and Jackie, and oh my God I just about lost it when Vance and his two poor kids put the white roses on the casket D':
I Love her "Mary" too. Having studied art, I love the classical and more artistic images of our Lord Jesus Christ in her music video. I wish this song was in an "Enterprise" music video top-re T'Pol.
I somehow can't get enough of this song. I listen to it over and over and over again. So relaxing. Unfortunately, I don't much like the rest of Patty's music, but this is exquisite.
Yep, I'm another one of many who heard this song for the first time on NCIS. It aired in New Zealand last night April 2 2013. The song was perfect to help set and enhance the mood in this episode of NCIS, Shiva. I was compelled to immediately search it out on You Tube, because this song, and Patty's soothing folksy style gets into your head and just won't leave. I love her beautiful soulful sound, and will have to buy a bunch of her CD's to satisfy my need for more of her amazing music. .
I can't shake the beauty and haunting feeling I continue to have each and every time I listen to this sad and touching song. So beautiful, thank-you Patty for this outstanding song.
Great quality and photography. Heard this song on NCIS this week. I took a similar photo of feet at the beach. My ex-boyfriend was very hung up about having his photo on the internet...
I just happened to watch the first episode of NCIS in several years and it was the episode that this song was in. I am glad that I randomly decided to watch it tonight.

lovely song, with this I cry last night with the NCIS episode
What a gorgeous song of inspiration for being such a beautifully sad song,. This was the perfect song for that episode.. For Butch Harmon, (I know its been a year), Tony said, "You're not alone" in Hebrew, connecting the saying to the title of the song.
I am humbled. In arrogance, I thought of myself as incapable of being "pleasantly surprised" to learn about a very established artist who I HAD NO KNOWLEDGE OF. You are brilliant, sir. I just purchased 3 of your songs on iTunes and that was only in the first 5 minutes of realizing that you even existed. So sorry to hear about the panic attacks. I myself suffered for most of my life from the same disorder. 100mg. of Zoloft once a day was the magic bullet. It changed my life completely.
This beautiful song was also on an episode of "Crossing Jordan" (the one anout a plane wreck in the woods. I wonder if they also played the tune on "House" as well), but "Niagara, Niagara"is where I first heard it). I had it bookmarked on my tablet for the "NCIS" episode, but it was scrapped (?).
Omg, yeah, I saw that episode of Crossing Jordan a couple of times but for some reason I don't remember this song in that episode & I can't believe it. This is the kind of song that you find you have to find it & play it over & over. Not sure if it was ever used for 'House' either & would say I'd remember if it was in any of the episodes but I did forget it being used in Crossing Jordan. Unbelievable. I'm loosing it, getting to old & feeble minded.
just watched NCIS here in UK heard this song at the end , with tony and ziva and had to find out who sings it , it is so haunting , made the end of that episode absolutel perfect, it is really beautiful , patty you write and sing beautifully thank you . xx
Julia Arsenault It was on "Crossing Jordan" too. Something about a plane that crashed. I like her "Mary". Loved the art surrounding the Virgin Mary. I was an art student at GSU in Atlanta when I first heard it.

great song. I'm a 58 year old man reduced to a puddle of tears. Best show on TV bar none the past ten years.
sometimes it just takes a simple melody and lyric to remind us of how fragile life is...and how sweet the memory can be in the remembrance. patty griffin's music is a gift.
I usually have one of two reactions to this song. I either get chills and goosebumps, or it makes me cry. Not entirely certain why sometimes either.

I heard this tonight (01-15-2013) on NCIS and had to find it. Sweet serendipity. This will be one of those songs that haunt me.
Also heard it on an episode of "Crossing Jordan".
When NCIS WAS GREAT NICE SONG THANK YOU
Thank you. What an AMAZING, haunting, lyrical, lovely song. NCIS brought me as well. I have listened over and over.
It wasn't that moment that got me with this song, it was the alternating funerals for Eli and Jackie, and oh my God I just about lost it when Vance and his two poor kids put the white roses on the casket D':
NCIS...ziva. so beautiful.
The most important message to her (whispered into her ear as they hugged) was: "aht lo leh-vahd." Which is Hebrew for "you are not alone."
love her delicate touch of lyric and her great musicianship. i'm her fan since 2002, when i first saw her in Austin. she blew me away.
This is the first song I ever heard Patti do, as the closing theme of "Niagara, Niagara". She has been my favorite ever since then.
I remember that movie too. Henry Thomas and Michael Parks were in it. Got to find that movie. Sad.
I Love her "Mary" too. Having studied art, I love the classical and more artistic images of our Lord Jesus Christ in her music video. I wish this song was in an "Enterprise" music video top-re T'Pol.

I just happened to watch the first episode of NCIS in several years and it was the episode that this song was in. I am glad that I randomly decided to watch it tonight.

NCIS, Twitter and Google got me here too after tonights episode just ended. Beautiful song.
I love that song. Haunting melody and beautifully done by Nancy Griffin. Thank you for posting it.
I was honored to see her in concert.....this was haunting.

Really good episode and a really good song. Blew me away!
Surprised no one heard this before. Discovered it in 1997, in the phenomenal movie; Niagara, Niagara.
Fahrdaris Just think Henry Thomas-Elliott in "ET"- played the young man. All grown up now.
totally awesome song from NCIS S10E12 "Shiva" , love this song
A work of art

That's when I heard it also, and yes it is haunting, and it was perfect for the closing scene.
beautiful song...also had to find it after hearing it at the ending of NCIS 1/15
NCIS BROUGHT ME HERE!!!!

+Cyril Freddy Davies You are exactly right. I just keep listening to it over and over.
And Patty does it again!

Looks I'm not the only NCIS-fan here :)
o0L4nc3r0o I first heard it on an episode of "Crossing Jordan". I believe it was played in a movie I saw called "Niagara, Niagara".
Used to watch it all the time but guess I missed this episode, I heard this song on Without A Trace, same episode 2 or 3 times now.
Perfect song for tonight's episode of NCIS "Shiva" . Judaism seven days of mourning.
yeah I like how they showed both funerals :)
Ill love you always my E..
NCIS brought me here !
yes
❤
ncis!
I once was told this song was about a woman that was murdered at the abortion clinic where she worked. Haunting song, very moving..
Is this what the story is really about?
Heard this on an episode of "Without a Trace" where a young prep-school teacher "takes away" a student 'cause he was abused
Yeah, they just aired the episode again a couple of days ago & this time I remembered to look it up.
Julia Arsenault It was on "Crossing Jordan" too. Something about a plane that crashed. I like her "Mary". Loved the art surrounding the Virgin Mary. I was an art student at GSU in Atlanta when I first heard it.
For me it was Ziva at the Western Wall
I enjoyed hearing the song.
I believe Tony said, "I won't forget you" in Hebrew.
Thought it was "you are not alone".
you said it Kingscrib
'I know'
did Tony say "You are not alone" in hebrew?
