Wow Brandon, that was powerful!!! I've never seen the 10 commandments as a wedding license. It truly changes alot and makes the Bible much more clear.
Although I will go through the Bible myself with prayer to make sure. I myself have been convicted not to totally rely on man's words, but to follow up in scripture along with the Holy Spirit.

The first covenant with Israel is not the church. It says GEN 17.8 THIS COVENANT gives Canaan as an everlasting possession.

I saw the relationship between God & his people in the marriage covenant in Hosea. I was reading this after my husband left me. God healed me & revealed himself a bit more during that time.
That's when I finally understood why God was so set against idol worship. It's infidelity. It breaks his heart, much like it breaks our heart when our spouse cheats on us.
May He pours His peace into your heart.

The Pharisees Charge Yeshua With Blasphemy
And one day after Yeshua healed a man with palsy, and told him "thy sins are forgiven thee," the scribes and the Pharisees began to reason among themselves, that Yeshua speaketh blasphemies. They reasoned, “Who can forgive sins, but God alone?” But when Yeshua perceived their thoughts, he looked upon them and said: "Why do ye reason this way in your heart? Can even God Himself forgive sins, if man repent not? Whether it is easier to say, 'Thy sins be forgiven thee;' or to say, 'Rise up and walk,' know ye that the Son of Man hath power upon earth to discern, and declare the forgiveness of sins; for any who put their faith in me and my law ,their sins will be forgiven, and they shall become purified." And many on hearing these words of Yeshua, glorified God, and were filled with the Spirit of Reverence, for they believed Yeshua to be the Son of the Holy Father. Then another of the Pharisees approached Yeshua and said unto him, "Why teacheth thy disciples, 'God is not a jealous God'? Hath not Moses in scripture sayeth thus, even: have no other Gods before my face? Thou speaketh blasphemy against Moses and God from whom ye say ye art sent forth." And Yeshua turned to the Pharisee and said unto himl "If ye know not the Son, ye know not the Father who sent the Son. Ye speak according to the ignorance ye live by, for thy god is one with Satan, inventor of the lie and every evil in man. My Father Who sent me unto the earthly sons of man is above earthly matters, wherein every deception and falsehood originated. Ye speaketh well when ye say thy god is a jealous god, for what hath the Maker of all things Who ruleth and owneth the universe reason for jealousy, He Who is all Love, and all Wisdom, and all Power, and all Grace? Thy god is over earth, my God over All Created Good; in your deception ye speak corruption unto the sons of man, for thy god is inferior and ignorant and knoweth not the Holy Things, nor cometh near to them. If ye understood Moses, ye would understand me, for Moses spake of me and the TRUE GOD, but ye listened to him not, but corrupted his words, for ye wish not truth yourselves and wish not others to find it either." And the people nearby listened to Yeshua' words, but the Pharisees walked away murmuring to themselves, not satisfied with Yeshua' answer.

Yeshua Condemns Animal Sacrifice
Shows It To Be From Satan And Not God
And after many other things were said and done, Yeshua returned to the city, and looked upon the innocent creatures of God awaiting slaughter as daily sacrifice in the temple at Jerusalem. And he said unto his disciples and many people that had gathered around them, for everywhere Yeshua went, crowds surrounded him to listen and hear his wisdom:
"Behold these poor innocent beasts of the earth, they harm not themselves, nor man, nor any other creature. Yea, they eat the green vegetation of the field, sinless and without blood guilt they have remained since their creation. Faithful and obedient they remain to their masters in hope that Humane feelings be their reward in life, but instead they receive every hurt and death at man's hand.
Lo, the lust of ignorant and stubborn man brings them down in death and much blood, that men may satisfy the lusts of their own flesh. Such men have hearts, but know them not, for they have become like their idols of stone, hard and vain.
"Woe to such blasphemers who reject the Holy Law of the sacredness of all life! Woe to such blind guides with hearts of stone, who use their eyes to lust after things they need not nor are lawful unto them!
For they transgress the Law of Moses to maketh themselves fat on the flesh and blood of innocent victims, that God commanded them not even since the beginning! Woe be unto this very temple built by human hands, for the Temple made without hands is here in their midst, but they see or hear not!
"For I come to end all sacrifice and bloodshed and tell ye, if ye cease not offering and eating of flesh and blood, the wrath of God shall not cease from you, even as it came to your fathers in the wilderness, who under Moses lusted for flesh, which they ate to their fulness. and were filled with rottenness, and the plague consumed them according to their evil desires.
"For I say unto you, Though ye be gathered together in my bosom, if ye keep not all my commandments, I will cast you forth. For if ye keep not the lesser revelations, who, ask, shall give you the greater ones? For since time immemorial, God hath at no time requireth animal or human sacrifices, lest He be inferior to the Holy Law! Nor hast God permitted man or beast to devour one another for food, lest He be ignorant of His own Love! How then, do ye eat flesh and give sacrifices of blood according to the law of Humane Love.
"Ye know not the True God, but worship the perverted god of thy world, even Satan the one and same father of the sword and bloodshed. For by this one, death entered into the world and death spread to all things, for all things are in bondage as slaves to the master of the lie. But I come to set free those imprisoned by chains of sin, and give forth my Holy Law again unto the nations that they may know the only True God of love and mercy. For my God above suffereth sin and error of men much, lest He put a swift end to the vanity of the world and cut off His Elect Seed.
"Be ye faithful to the complete law of God, lest ye stumble in thy evil ways and meet death as thy final reward. For he that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much, and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much. So it is with the Holy Law, for the first truths you keepeth not, but seek after the greater. Seek ye first the laws of God and all else will be revealed unto you. No man may digest the solid food of God, lest first he taketh of the liquid, for my law is the water of life. Drink ye, like pure water, and all other mysteries of God will be opened to you, and then ye will know the True God and His Good Works.
"For ye desire to serve two masters, one good, one evil, and cannot, for either ye will hate the one, and love the other, or else ye will stick to the one and despise the other.... Know ye then, thy true root, whether ye be good or evil, and then ye shall know the truth that giveth life and health. Ye cannot serve both the True God and Satan, for the True God is All Love and His Holy Law leadeth to All Life, there being no death in His Order and Household.
"But know ye that Satan is the god of death and bloodshed and also giveth to the people many unholy laws that the True God hateth and condemneth. Know ye not that the two cannot mix, but the inferior shall be done away with, for the Holy Law has served as judge over the living and the dead since the days of Adam and Eve. Hence, ye are they which justify yourselves before men and God, for God knoweth your hearts and your ways.
"For know ye, that the same Law and the Prophets were here until John and changeth not. Yea, even before the foundations of thy earth were laid, the Law was and always will be ... Yea, it is easier for heaven and earth to pass away, than one tittle of the Law to fail its purpose. Keep ye the Law, then, and all other things will be added unto you, for there is no thing above the Law, and any thing which comes below the Law, is not perfect nor complete, nor is it from the True God of Love."
And the Pharisees heard all these sayings of Yeshua, and observed that he was speaking of them, for they lived according to doctrines of men and of the devil, and not the true law Moses hath given them in the wilderness, they being responsible for the lawlessness of animal sacrifice and flesh eating among Israel.

Thank you for sharing your insight so well. It's encouraging to see the 10 Commandments as a wedding covenant between the children of Israel and God. When I explain to a Jewish friend about why I got upset at his divorce. I talked about how I view the importance of marriage as a Christian, that our covenant is to represent the relationship between Christ and the Church. Now I have this explanation to add to it.
But if they are really not suited together? If one steals, if one constantly backbites against the other and their family ? If one is doing drink or drugs taking from their finances? If one wants children and the other does not? If one wants the trappings of wealth because parents taught them this is the way? If one gets disabled and can no longer work? If one develops mental illness through stress or less of job or health? Cheating on the spouse and not just once? Just examples. Why do we have to stay joined together getting worse with mistrust, loss of love and dislike, and hatred and bitterness become common? Why not dissolve that union and free them to better themselves to either stay single or meet someone more suited? So there will be a lovinging, accepting, encouraging atmosphere in the home? Friends, relatives, immediate family, parents and children all suffer with them when they are not a good match. Until death do us part has lead to spouses being committed to mental institutions, for the gain of the other half because divorce was not allowed. Murder has been committed so they can be free to be with a new partner. Street angels and house devils exist. If you saw your brother getting beat physically or emotionally what would you do? No. You have to stay married until death. You see your sister getting beaten and raped inside marriage and the children too? You see either one having their money taken away and gambled or is wastefully used while the other half and children starve? Did God really say that? He did say it isn't for everyone. So if the love is killed by errant action why does the injured party have to go to hell?
Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain. Love is selfless, devoted to the benefit for another, but if your so vain. "I" is singular, but you have two of them smack in the middle of your face. The only thing that your two eyes cannot see is the I that beholds them. Love is of God. Love is: the desire for continuence. Love is the principle that our universe exists upon. Therefore Love is God, the Holy Spirit, The God of Truth.

That’s the problem! Do u not see it? It’s man’s human failings that cause divorce disasters! We jump into relationships too quickly, let lust take over and think it’s love! Most of the time … red flags are present but they are ignored because they think… “I can change them or, marriage and children will change the other person. I’m just as guilty! Been there and now I understand… I didn’t wait for GOD’s direction and who HE had for me! Without GOD involved.. it’s a disaster! Blessings!

With the exception of pastor Robbins and Ray Vander Laan, every commentary I've found on the Ten Commandments is about how the Israelites were to conform to the will of God through the love of God and neighbor; and, how to live in freedom from the spiritual slavery of sin.
oh, how great is this message. I knew, that israel is the wife of god and they married on mount sinai. but, today it touched my heart to tears. god gave his wife several commandments, so that she can get in a rich, pure and holy ralationship with god and one another. it is so beautiful. yes, they are more than just do`s and don`ts. thank you brandon so much for giving me fresh eyes!

And I believe that in this God is exalted, as more brothers and sisters continue to grow in a fruitful faith. On target Brandon, "We are the bride" God bless you. Proclaim the message, but do all with patience and with the intention of teaching. Then will your light shine like the dawn and your wound be quickly healed over. Your integrity will go before you and the glory of Yahweh behind you. Let the wicked man abandon his way, the evil man his thoughts. Let him turn back to Yahweh who will take pity on him, to our God who is rich in forgiving. From the beginning I foretold the future, and predicted beforehand what is to be. I say: My purpose shall last; I will do whatever I choose. To sum up the whole matter: fear God, and keep his commandments, since this is the whole duty of man. For God will call all hidden deeds, good or bad, to judgement. Instructions for happiness.💯
Amen Brother Brandon. I'm a Seventh Day Adventist, and so often my church puts so much emphasis on the 4th Commandment. Hearing you compare the Sabbath as being a sign between God and his people to a wedding ring just reminded me of how we often preach that the Seal of God in Revelation is a sign of those who keep the Commandments, including the 4th, and have the testimony of Christ (Rev. 14:12).
7th day you say? Thats the ones who think the Sabbath is Saturday. Might even be right, however it seems your pastors have never read Romans 14,, which says your faith is weak for such a belief.. go ahead read it for yourself.
@@zachz1018 that passage is speaking of the ceremonial Sabbaths such as day of trumpets and such. It's not speaking of the holy Sabbath created for US to rest with God. That will always stand. It is written by the very hand of God. I highly recommend you research the Sabbath more brother! We are ALL grafted into Israel because of the glorious sacrifice of our Savior. Gentiles and Jews in Christ are of the same body. Nothing changed at all between the OT and NT in regards to the ten commandments. Christ reiterates this when He says if you love Me you will keep My commands. He also says not one letter will be wiped from the Law until heaven and earth disappear. Our holy Sabbath with our Creator still stands and always will.
Read Exodus 13:8-9, Exodus 31:16-17 (FOREVER), Deuteronomy 6:1-9, and Deuteronomy 11:16-19.
Read the words carefully. The Sabbath is the seal of God, we are to bind it in our "foreheads and hands".
If you need more proof, read the history of how and why the Sabbath was changed. Constantine had the church change the day for worship so pagans, Greeks and Romans would join his unholy empire. May God bless you abundantly in your walk with Him! LOVE BOLDLY! ❤️✝️

You are really changing how I look at the scripture and the things with all your videos, your videos are, in my personal opinion, the best when it comes to explaining the actual meaning and facts of the Bible, the values and guidelines that it teaches, to create a proper Compass to navigate through ourselves inside, through others and through life~
How I've seen some things you've said in this video was also, in addition to what you've already said, the words representing our inner selves, our struggles, traumas, imperfections, emotions, images and identities inside, basically our sins; that God delivers us from such troubles and shows us the way out of pure love and is asking to give back love in form of respect by living as now our better and more free selves which we've attained through our efforts, discipline and His Blessings, Gifts... Gifts which God gives out of love, allot of Gifts without expecting anything in return, like as does a Husband to his Wife~

“Take you” being a marriage reference is really interesting. I had noticed before that the back and forth between God and the Israelites while Moses was on the mountain was nothing like I had been taught it in Sunday school growing up. It was a covenant between two parties. Almost like vows…and God refers to them many times as adulterers, so interesting!
Also in case you’d like to correct at 2:09 you give a reference of Genesis when it should be Exodus

The 10 commandment tablets were written on both sides (Ex 32:15). Written Hebrew is uses fewer letters than English, so it would be possible to get all the words on two sides

I realized the covenant was in fact related to marriage, and understood what was meant by "Do not take the Lord thy God's Name in Vain." even despite the popular, shallow minded misinterpretation of it.
But, you did a great job of illuminating this relationship between Marriage and our relationship with our Lord.

Very interesting indeed. I preached the 10 commandments last summer and took the approach they are and should also be inverted, THOU SHALL NOT MURDER means the other person has the right to life.

Thank you for sharing with us some very ancient theology. From the early church fathers, I believe, dating back to the first millenium when we were one Holy, Universal and Apostolic Church.

The Sabbath is seen as The Bride in some sects of Judaism, and a Sabbath prayer is Lecha Dodi which mentions such.
The Sabbath is for ALL of us brother. Gentiles were grafted into the body of Israel in the OT if they believed and lived their ways. The same for all of us after Christ died and rose from the dead. Every single one of us that surrenders to Christ are part of that body. The ten commandments, all 10, still stand for all of God's children. May God bless you abundantly in your walk with Him! Kol tov (all good)! I attended a Messianic Synagogue for about 5 years, and learned very much, including the aspect of the Sabbath being the Bride. It’s an interesting concept that even connects to the New Jerusalem; sacred matter, sacred time, and sacred space converge in qodesh (holy) union. :)

Comparing the Ten Commandments as a Wedding Vow makes sense. Especially when Jesus Christ later reiterated how the Church is like the Bride and He, Jesus Christ, is the Bridegroom. Christ also told a lot of parables relating to a Jewish Wedding, and parts of physical creation and work, such as a mustard seed or a sewer of seeds.

@@jesse9517 the Mosaic Law was kept on the outside of the Ark of the Covenant, to be held as a witness against Israel. Paul in Galatians uses this same language when describing the ordinances which were againt them and he says that it was nailed to the cross with christ.
The ceremonial law of Moses was never meant to be kept for all time as it was meant to serve as a shadow of that which was to come. It pointed the sinner to their need of salvation and ultimately it pointed to Christ. When christ died for all mankind and took away sin, there would no longer be the need to keep the ceremonial Mosaic law.
Sabbath isn't any day of the week. It's the seventh day of the week. It man had the ability to keep any day as their Sabbath, then that would mean the Ten Commandments have somehow changed, bc to keep any day other than the seventh day, would be a transgression of the law, aka sin.
If we can willingly keep any day other than the day God commands, it would've meant christ died in vein.
In other words, God sent his son to die on a cross in order to save us from sin knowing that it meant nothing bc now sin can happen without any consequences, which makes absolutely no sense.
You can't obtain salvation with good works apart from faith. Evidence of having true and sincere faith is doing good works.
Sincere faith will always lead to obedience. If God tells us to remember the Sabbath, then ought we not do so in obedience?
